Chapter 50: MR. BECKER
Chapter 50: MR. BECKER
Julian’s gaze burned into Astrid as Rowan walked out of the office.
"What’s going on between you two?" he demanded and Astrid hesitated.
"Nothing," she replied flatly, Julian’s eyes narrowed at her response.
"Don’t lie to me, Astrid," he growled but she didn’t care one bit at the way he stared at her.
She moved toward the bin dipping her hands inside and was about to take out the coat when Julian pulled her hands up roughly.
"I told him already I would get another one!" he yelled at her.
"I am sorry boss," she let out in a formal tone.
"Excuse me!"
"This is my business and not yours, I was the one wearing the coat you shouldn’t butt into it.." she let out, leaving Julian flabbergasted.
"Did you just talk to me rudely?"
"I am not talking to you rudely, I’m only trying to make things between us formal," Julian was more than stunned at this.
"Are you acting this way because of the bastard!" Astrid took a deep breath.
"Whatever you wish to think then do so.." she let out snatching the coat from the bin.
"You should get the new one for your girl, so she doesn’t get jealous,"
He moved closer to her and she shifted back trying to conceal her fear.
"Since the meeting is over I should be back to my position so you don’t miss another meeting," she bowed and walked out of the office quickly before Julian could stop her.
Ryan could only stare at his boss’ shocked evidence on his face.
What superpowers did she have that the boss didn’t get mad at her but only held an amusing look? He thought.
"Make sure never is that bastard appointment to be accepted! Understood!" Julian exclaimed and Ryan nodded.
"What is in for the next?" Julian asked, still amused by his wife’s character.
"A meeting with the staff for the new designs that had all been created.
He breathed out loudly and then sighed before walking out of the meeting room.
"Send Mattie home," he announced.
"Okay, Boss,"
"Coffee date, my foot I won’t let that happen." he let out with his hand in his pocket while Ryan could only smirk behind.
Astrid sat back down in her position with a breath of relief.
Not minding the gaze cast at her, she sent the message to Rowan’s PA with high hopes.
Astrid, not wanting to lag again and face another embarrassment, decided to take her job seriously.
Using her free time to master the important places in the building, what type of coffee Julian likes, the right time to be in the office, and also making a schedule for the next day’s meeting.
She might be a high school dropper but she was smart. If the bullies hadn’t been consistent and also her family made her lose hope in it all she would have been the best in her prime now.
Now that she had gotten a good job she was going to prove her worth to all of them.
She heard a knock on her desk, making her look up and it was Ryan.
"It’s way past closing time, aren’t you going home, Mrs. Logan?" his gentle voice interrupted.
"You’ve been working non-stop since morning. You should head home, and get some rest."
Since she is like an outcast and is willing to talk to her, she is used to it so she wouldn’t mind.
"Oh..." she let out, "Thanks for reminding me."
"Where is the boss?" she asked and he smiled, "He had an urgent meeting and had told me to come to check up on you since you weren’t picking up your calls."
"My calls?" she asked as she picked up her phone to see if there had been several missed calls.
"Oh, I was too lost in this." She explained as she stood up a bit excited that she needed to go somewhere.
"Larry is waiting for you." she nodded, not saying anything as she packed her things now headed outside the office.
She got into the car and drove out of the office. When she was sure she was closer to the hotel she asked the chauffeur to stop.
"Is there a problem ma’am?" he asked worriedly.
"Of course not, just felt like going somewhere, you can leave for home. I will meet you at home," she told him.
"But I can drive you there instead.." Astrid shook her head at this.
"No, It’s something private." she cut him off, he sighed and then agreed finally after much persuasion.
Though he knew his boss wouldn’t be happy with this, there was no way he should invade her privacy.
Astrid got out of the car and took a cab to the direction of the hotel where their client had resided.
She took in a deep breath now finding her way inside, "Good evening.." She greeted the receptionist. Her eyes widened seeing Astrid standing before her.
"You.."
"Which room is that of Mr. Becker?" The receptionist squinted her faze at the question asked.
"I am sorry but we can’t give our client details out that way,"
Astrid smiled at this, recalling Maren’s words.
The last thing anyone would want to do in the city is offend any of the Logan’s she has Logan added to her name.
So she could use it, "My name is Astrid Logan, would you want to piss me off and get fired!"
The lady’s eyes widened at this, she was needed for the job so much and she dared not want to get on the bad side of any of the Logan.
"Ma, we can’t just give out details but..." Astrid leans further glaring at her as she places Her glasses well on her eyes.
The lady was under so much pressure that she had no choice but to do what she was asked.
"Fine... but please don’t tell him that I was the one behind this.." she pleaded and Astrid nodded.
"Room 65.. VVIP section," She nodded and walked away finding my way to the office with the little card given to me. She was able to access the VIP section easily.
Finally, she got to the front of the room and rang the bell several times. Finally, after a few minutes, someone came to the door and opened it.
A very beautiful young lady in her late 20s opened the door, she was just in her towel and Astrid was taken aback by this.
"Who are you?" she asked with disgust on her face.
"I am here to see Mr. Becker," Astrid replied, but the gaze she cast my way made me feel comfortable."
"Why?" she asked and then I heard a male voice come from the inside.
"Who is by the door?" he asked and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw Astrid standing by the door.
"Astrid?" he called and Astrid smirked.
"Never thought we would be meeting again this way... sir," Astrid responded.
