Chapter 33: GOING THROUGH A NIGHTMARE

Chapter 33: GOING THROUGH A NIGHTMARE

"Change to this," Stephan gave Astrid a new dress, the scene from a few minutes again still replaying in her heart.

With her hands trembling, she collected it from him, frustrated. Stephan sighed and walked out of the room leaving her to change.

Astrid, whose mind only wanted to be out of the scary mansion, wore the dress and ran out of the room.

Stephan seeing she was done decided to take her home since she was done. They got to the car and Astrid felt like not going with him.

"Aren’t you getting inside?" he asked and she could only Lower her gaze.

Today is one of the days she would never be able to get off her mind, the scene still fresh in her heart.

"Without another word, she did as told and shut the door," Stephan rolled his eyes and also got inside.

He pondered on the reason Julian had suddenly changed his mind when his plan and Mattie were going smoothly already.

When he asked about Mattie Julian hung up immediately, hinting to him that something was wrong.

He glanced at the lady sitting beside him who looked lost and sad and then grunted.

"Remember," he warned, his hand tightening on the wheels.

"Utter a word to Julian or anyone, the video will be played to the whole world."

She glanced at him with no words, she had always thought her father was a monster but Stephan was much worse.

All she cared about was getting home to Julian. He might not care for her but he is the only one that could curb their ways of hurting her.

She could still feel the crawling hands of those bastards all over her body and still couldn’t get it off her mind.

She doesn’t think it could ever get off her mind. It’s a kind of trauma she would forever be triggered by.

"Expecting a response from you," he exclaimed, startling her. She nodded her head quietly.

"A word,"

"I won’t tell him." Astrid forced out not wanting to be a victim to another sort of risk.

"Good." his car pulled up in front of the mansion, and she alighted the car before he could.

She wanted to run inside but his grip was tight as he pulled her back.

"Are you trying to annoy me?" Her heart thumping harder she shook her head.

"Julian is a smart guy, if he gets to find out about this, I will make life miserable for you to live." Astrid gulped down nervously.

He let go of her hands and strutted behind him as she lowered her head, they finally got to the living room.

Julian jumped off his chair seeing her, "What the fuvk took you so long?" he growled and Stephan snickered.

"She wanted to visit some more place so..." he gestured toward Astrid who immediately nodded her head.

Julian stared at her confused. He could promise this was the dress she put on when going out but decided not to push further.

"Why do your eyes look dull?" Before she could respond, Stephsn did so in her stead.

"Maybe she doesn’t feel like leaving Paris this early."

Julian’s fist tightened and she noticed this but wouldn’t want to counter what Stephan had said.

Why are they trying their best to get Julian to hate her?

"Where is Mattie?" Julian sighed and then responded, "She got mad I was waiting for her... so she left." Stephan’s eyes widened at this.

"And you allow her to leave?"

"I would leave soon anyway," he defended, earning a scoff from Stephan.

"You are sick man," Stephan let out and walked upstairs leaving Julian with Astrid.

"Why the fuvk don’t you have a phone!" Astrid glanced up at him for the first time and he noticed the emptiness her eyes carried.

"I don’t have the money to get one," she answered, "I want to go to my room, I am exhausted." She let out.

Julian recalled they were about to eat when he had left.

He grabbed her hands, surprising her, "Were you able to eat?" Astrid glances at him for a few minutes before giving a slight nod.

She yanked her hands off and walked off before he could think of asking another question.

Julian could feel the way she was so stressed and looked exhausted.

He wanted to believe what Stephan had told him, for the weird reason he was having a second doubt.

******

Astrid frantically rushed into the bathroom, desperate to wash away the traumatic events of the night.

She shoved her body into the bathtub, scrubbing her skin raw as the memories of unwanted touches haunted her mind.

The sensation of those hands lingered, refusing to be erased. She lost track of time, her body reddened from the scalding water and her desperate attempts to cleanse herself.

After a few hours, she finally walked out of the bathroom, exhausted, and weak, and collapsed onto her bed, wearing only a pair of pants and a hoodie.

She tried to force herself to sleep, but her mind raced, reliving the horror.

Her body trembled, and her eyes remained shut, but sleep eluded her.

The trauma felt embedded in her system, threatening to resurface at any moment.

As the night wore on, Astrid’s fear intensified, and she began to roll around the bed, her eyes still shut.

Suddenly, a nightmare took hold, and she was back amid the traumatic event.

Her hands thrashed around as if fighting off an attacker, and her voice cracked as she cried out for help.

"Julian!" she screamed, tears streaming down her face. She repeated his name, pleading for rescue.

Julian, who had wanted to go down to the living room to get water for his thirst, heard her distressing voice.

He burst into the room, responding to her desperate calls. "Astrid..." he began, but his voice trailed off as he took in the sight of her struggling on the bed.

Her distress was visible, and he was met with a heart-wrenching scene of fear, pain, and desperation.

This was the first time he had seen her this vulnerable.
