Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare -
Chapter 304: THE PROPOSAL
Chapter 304: THE PROPOSAL
A light flickered on the wall, and the room fell silent. The projector whirred to life, casting a warm glow on the wall.
Astrid glanced around surprised, wondering what this was about, but her eyes widened in shock as a video of her mother, Elizabeth, appeared on the screen.
"Astrid... My little orchid..." Elizabeth’s frail voice filled the room, her words laced with a deep longing.
Astrid’s gaze locked onto the screen, her eyes welling up with tears. "Mu.... Mum.." She called out, as she took a step forward, her hands reaching out as if to touch her mother’s face.
The room around her melted away, leaving only the sound of her mother’s voice.
Elizabeth’s eyes, sunken and tired, looked directly into the camera. "I know if this video is being played for you, it means I’m gone." Her voice cracked, and she paused, wiping away tears.
Astrid’s lips trembled, her eyes overflowing with tears. "No, you’re not," she whispered, hoping her mother would respond.
Just then Elizabeth’s gaze turned to Julian, who stood beside her, it meant her mum left her last words, she thought to herself.
"I didn’t plan for that either, but... I get to ask a question from your husband today." Elizabeth’s frailed voice proceeded.
Julian’s eyes locked onto Elizabeth’s, his expression somber.
"He told me everything... How you accidentally married him, I wasn’t even there to fight for you when the monster tried selling you to someone else." Elizabeth’s voice was laced with regret.
"My little orchid must have gone through a lot, right? I am so sorry."
Astrid’s hands clenched into fists, her eyes held tears, her heart aching with every word, that feeling she thought she had finally hurried within her all loose.
Elizabeth’s gaze turned back to Astrid now. "I should be by your side, but no, my little selfish heart can’t." She paused, collecting her thoughts, while Astrid shook her head, in the hope that her mum wouldn’t think of that.
"But you know what... I trust Allen to be the mother I couldn’t be for you, the mother I couldn’t become."
Astrid’s eyes darted to Becky, who stood at the back of the room, a somber expression on her face, tears now threatening to escape her eyes hearing her best friend calling her that name once more.
Elizabeth’s gaze turned to Julian once more. "I want to place my whole hope in Julian to be the best husband you can ever ask for." She stated, eyes sunken.
Elizabeth’s voice turned to a whisper. "He is still thinking about his feelings for you... he feels he still doesn’t understand his feelings, but I can tell he cares for you so much and wouldn’t want to hurt you."
Astrid’s heart skipped a beat, she never knew her mum and Julain had this much conversation.
Elizabeth’s gaze turned to Julian, a small smile on her lips. "He promised not to hurt you, and I also vowed to taunt him for life if he ever hurts you when I am gone."
Julian’s face reflected a deep resolve, his eyes burning with a promise, like he was avoiding the camera but at the same time didn’t want to make her feel bad.
Elizabeth’s gaze turned back to Astrid, again... now pulling out a small box in her hand.
"This ring holds a strong bond of heirloom in my family." She opened the box, revealing a beautiful ring, with her hands tracing it down.
"Mum had given me to wear it on my wedding day with the one I love."
Astrid’s eyes widened, one could tell this ring cost a lot, and Elizabeth’s voice turned to a whisper, as tears threatened to drop.
"But I didn’t get to wear it... I want you to have it, my little Orchid."
Julian might divorce you in the future because he still can’t tell you about his feelings. I understand and wouldn’t hate him for that, but I hope he makes sure this ring is given to you.
Elizabeth paused for some seconds tears trailing her eyes as she tried to force herself to stop crying. The room fell silent, the only sound was the soft hum of the projector and Elizabeth whimpers. Astrid’s eyes locked onto the screen, her heart heavy with pain.
Donald sat with his eyes closed, his face twisted in pain. Zach’s face was etched with regret, his eyes fixed on the floor.
As the video continued, I regained their attention. "My little orchid... I wish you the best. You have always gone through pain, but now knowing you are close to the Logans, I am very sure they would take care of you like their daughter."
Astrid’s eyes darted to the Logans, who stood at the back of the room, their faces somber.
. "And if you ever get to know your dad... Can you please forgive him? He hadn’t no single fault in this, but just needed to follow his family’s wishes."
Astrid’s eyes narrowed, her heart heavy, "I want you to know that if your dad had known about your existence from the beginning, he would have taken care of you so much." she bit her lips sadly.
"I am so sorry to give you the wrong father, freak. So sorry I couldn’t stay long to give you the best life you deserve. I am so sorry for being a bad mother. I’m so sorry for being a mother who made a kid grow up too quickly, just to fend for herself."
Astrid’s eyes overflowed with tears as she listened to her mother’s heartfelt apology. "Mum... you don’t have to apologize, you were the best mum ever." Astrid cried out.
"I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart... I love you so much. I love you more than my whole world. Words can’t explain how much I love you, but I want you to know that Mommy always loves you."
As Elizabeth finished speaking, the video faded to black, and the room fell silent. Astrid stood frozen, her eyes fixed on the screen, her heart so heavy.
But then gasping from her family made her turn to them confused but they were looking in a direction that made her follow suit.
She swiveled around, her gaze locking onto Julian, who knelt before her, a tender smile adorning his face.
Julian’s hands were adorned with the heirloom rings, not just hers but the one that had also belonged to their family.
He stretched it out to Astrid, as he began.
"This felt like yesterday," Julian whispered, his eyes locked onto Astrid’s, "When you walked into my wedding hall, bringing hope that I was finally marrying my guardian angel."
Astrid’s lips trembled as Julian’s words washed over her, carrying her back to the day that changed their lives forever.
"I felt so different that day," Julian continued, his voice cracking with emotion. "Every second before the veil was pulled off, I felt at peace. It makes me feel stupid that I had gotten mad at you the first moment I saw your face."
Astrid’s eyes brimmed with tears as Julian’s words poured out. "I should have pulled you closer," Julian’s voice cracked. "I should have made life so much easier for you. I regret every bit of words and actions I displayed in front of you."
As Julian spoke, his hands clenched into fists, his knuckles white.
"I regret making you cry several times before I could figure out my heart," Julian whispered. "I regret not recognizing the one I was supposed to love."
"I have always been greedy," Julian confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Ever since your mom gave me this ring, I refused to hand it over, fearing that you would see someone better than me."
Astrid hands clamped on her lips, heating Julain had always had this thought, she had always thought she was the one who was getting so obsessed with him, the fact that her husband shared the same feeling just like her made her so pleased.
"Your mum wanted me to give this to you, so you would meet a better man... but I can’t let you go.." he took a deep breath.
"I would rather try to be the better man you deserve," Astrid chuckled at his words, enjoying every bit of it.
"I hope you will give me the chance to right my wrongs," Julian’s voice cracked. "Make me become the man you have always wanted to be with. Make this mansion a home for me."
Astrid’s hands trembled as she reached out to Julian, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Make our ACCIDENTAL MARRIAGE become the real marriage," Julian whispered, his eyes burning with love.
"Will you give this man the opportunity to get married to you again and make you his one soul forever?"
Astrid’s hands stretched out to him, excitement laced in her tone as her family cooed in delight.
"Yes, I will," Astrid whispered, tears streaming down her face. "Yes, I want to have my wedding. Yes, I want to stop the controversy of taking someone else’s man."
"Yes, I want to finally have Julian Logan to be mine and mine only," Astrid declared, and Julain with his heart swelling in joy, slid the rings into her finger, and everyone clapped and cheered.
