Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 281: MEETING WITH HER

Chapter 281: MEETING WITH HER

Astrid strode into the station, with her head high. The cops bowed respectfully as she approached, their eyes cast downward. "Welcome Mrs. Logan, what can we help you with?"

"I am here to see Tonia," she announced, her voice firm but controlled.

They all exchanged a glance before one of them nodded and disappeared into the depths of the prison.

Astrid took a seat in a metal chair, her back straight and her hands clasped together in her lap.

She waited in silence, her eyes fixed on the door where Tonia would emerge.

After a few minutes, the door creaked open, and Tonia stepped out, her eyes narrowing as she took in Astrid’s presence.

"What is this?" Tonia asked, her voice laced with disdain. "I wasn’t expecting a visitor, especially not you."

Astrid’s expression remained serene, but a hint of amusement danced in her eyes. "I think you will find my visit quite... Interesting," Astrid asserted.

"I don’t want to hear it," she said, turning her back, and then Astrid scoffed and stood from her seat.

"Thought I should enlighten you on somethings but guess you don’t want to know so..." Astrid turned to the door about to leave but Tonia turned back in a flash.

Tonia’s gaze lingered on Astrid, her eyes searching for any sign of weakness. But Astrid’s mask of calmness remained intact, and Tonia’s eyes eventually dropped, her shoulders sagging slightly as she took a seat across from Astrid.

"So, talk," Tonia said, her voice curt.

Astrid sat back down, reached into her purse, and pulled out her phone, which she activated with a flick of her wrist.

Then a video began to play, she placed it in front of Tonia and it displayed Mattie killing Tonia’s mother.

Tonia’s eyes widened, her face paling as she watched the gruesome scene unfold.

When the video ended, Astrid leaned forward, her eyes blazing with intensity. "It shouldn’t come as a surprise. I am pretty sure you know that Mattie was behind my mother’s death?"

Tonia’s eyes darted upward, "I... I didn’t know," she stammered, not wanting to repeat the same words that had put her in trouble.

Astrid’s laughter was like ice. "Don’t lie to me, Tonia. I know you triggered Mattie to do it, we are both not kids here, we know our tactics."

Tonia’s eyes dropped, her shoulders sagging in defeat. "Fine, I know it and it is part of the reason why I am here so, why make me see this?" she whispered.

Astrid snickered at this, but Astrid wasn’t finished yet. She reached into her purse and pulled out a photograph, which she dropped onto the table in front of Tonia.

Tonia’s eyes widened as she took in the image of a young girl, her eyes and hair a mirror image of Tonia’s own.

"Who is this?" Tonia asked, her voice trembling already.

Astrid broke into a peal of laughter and this seeped deep into Tonia’s bone.

"This is your biological daughter, Tonia. The one you have been searching for."

Tonia’s eyes locked onto the photograph, her face a mask of shock and longing.

She reached out a trembling hand, her fingers brushing against the image as if she couldn’t believe it was real.

But before Tonia could say another word, Astrid dropped another bombshell.

She pulled out a second photograph, this one showing Mattie pushing a young girl down the stairs. Tonia’s eyes widened in horror as she took in the image, her hands trembling as she reached out to touch the photograph.

"What... what does this mean?" Tonia stammered.

Astrid’s expression was unyielding. "It means that your daughter is dead, Tonia. And it’s all because of your actions."

Tonia’s face crumpled, her body shaking with sobs as the reality of her situation hit her like a ton of bricks. Astrid watched her, her expression unyielding, as Tonia’s world came crashing down around her.

Finally, Astrid stood up, "I will leave you with these photographs, Tonia," she said, "Maybe they’ll teach you a lesson about the consequences of your actions."

"You Bitch!" She called out painfully, her heart thumping hard as she threw the picture away.

"She can’t be dead, she isn’t the one... My daughter is well and alive, and I will find her." Astrid shrugged her shoulders with that, Astrid turned and walked away, leaving Tonia to pick up the pieces of her shattered world, she walked out, got into Julain’s car and they drove off.

Julian dropped Astrid off at Maren’s office, "You sure you want me to leave? I don’t..." Astrid kissed his lip, shutting him up.

"I am going to be fine, Maren will drive me home." Julian sighed and then kissed her lips, "I am only leaving you because it’s Maren, don’t pull any stunts without me knowing." Astrid nodded and he tilted his head.

"Fine, I promised," she said, kissing him again.

"Bye," she bid him farewell, and alighted from his car, she had not been light-hearted for a while like the way she is today. Making Tonia feel the pain of losing her daughter also made her satisfied.

As Julian watched her step out of the car, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and love for his wife.

Julian quickly texted his guards, who were discreetly watching over Astrid.

"Eyes on her always. Remember, there will be consequences if anything happens to my woman."With that, he drove off.

Meanwhile, Astrid walked into Maren’s office, where she was greeted with respect and admiration.

She made her way through the bustling office, nodding hello to familiar faces.

As she approached Hanneth’s desk, the woman jumped up, grasping Astrid’s hands.

"Thank goodness you are here! I’ve been expecting you. Miss Maren hasn’t been herself lately."

Astrid nodded, she had come to see her after visiting Tonia because she wanted to share good news with her.

She walked into Maren’s office and found Maren sitting at her desk, looking lost.

Astrid walked over to the fridge, pulling out an orange juice. "Still have my favorite," she murmured, smiling.

Maren turned, a hint of a smile on her face. "You hardly eat... it’s the least I can offer you when you come."

Astrid sat beside Maren, concern etched on her face. "What’s wrong, Maren?" she asked, noticing the worry lines on her friend’s face.

Maren sighed, confessing her fears. "I am just worried about my future career, Astrid. What if my father does something wrong? What if he hurts someone or kills someone and introduces himself as my father? It would ruin my reputation."

Astrid’s grip on Maren’s hands tightened. "Hey, everything has been settled," she reassured her. "I promised your dad wouldn’t disturb you again."

Maren’s eyes narrowed, confusion written all over her face. "How did you do that?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.

Astrid tapped Maren’s shoulder, a hint of a smile on her face. "It’s all thanks to my husband," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

Maren’s eyes widened, worry etched on her face. "What did he do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Astrid’s expression turned serious. "Let’s just say your dad now has a second chance at life and also a new identity." Maren’s eyes widened.

"He made it clear that if he ever bothered you again, there would be consequences."

"Really?" She asked as her grip around Astrid’s wrist tightened, Astrid nodded her head and Maren let out a scream of delight.

"Yay! Thank you so much!"
