"Julian... it’s okay... you don’t have to take it to that extent," Miles butted in.

Mattie stared at Julian but it was like there was nothing wrong with him, "Aren’t you feeling dizzy?" she asked a bug worried and frustrated.

"I said I didn’t put in anything, why would it be possible to hurt you!" Astrid asked.

"You! What did you do? I began feeling dizzy the moment I drank that water! You are the reason I embarrassed myself on that stage!" she tried explaining.

"Shut the fuck up! Are you embarrassed enough? Why are you trying to lie against Astrid?" Maren breathed out in relief as she made eye contact with Astrid.

"Stephan, I understand maybe she is mad... she is pregnant remember... Pregnant women tend to have hormones," Astrid let out and Stephan turned to Mattie.

"So please, be careful with how you handle her, I wouldn’t want any harm to come to my little cousin." Astrid let out having that care in her eyes.

"You... don’t.." Julian stopped her immediately, "Miles control your sister before I do so for you, I wouldn’t want our friendship to get ruined."

"Julain, stop it... when I get pregnant I might act this way so get used to it now," Astrid let out wrapping her hands around Julain as she saved the award in his hand.

"Astrid.." he called out in shock but she placed a finger on his lip, as gasps echoed through the room.

"Does that mean?" Maren’s eyes bore into them as they swallowed their words immediately.

Astrid moved toward Mattie, "Cousin, I understand you are getting hormones but you keep hurting me pushing me back, I care so much about you and even planned following your footsteps." Mattie clenched her fist breathing in and out forcefully.

Astrid pulled her into a tight hug, "I forgive you Mattie, and I hope you would be nice to me next time." Astrid murmured with a smile this time her voice in a whisper.

"How does it feel playing some games with you?" Mattie pushed her roughly and Julain quickly grabbed her.

"Mattie!" Miles yelled but Astrid stopped him, "It’s fine Miles... I should probably leave now."

Stephan’s eyes narrowed at Mattie, his expression a mixture of disgust and disappointment.

"How could you, Mattie?" he asked, his voice low and even. "Astrid has always been kind to you, and this is how you repay her? I told you to stop your silly games already!"

The other workers began to murmur among themselves, their voices filled with shock, seeing the real behavior of the one they once looked up to.

"Mattie must have been jealous of Astrid’s success," Someone whispered.

Maren’s eyes flashed with anger as she turned to Mattie. "I brought you here because Astrid wanted you to be here," she explained.

"She wanted to help you, to give you a chance to redeem yourself and get back your fans. But it seems you are not interested in that." Astrid let out a small smile.

"Hey Maren, you don’t have to say that." Astrid cautioned Maren but

Maren’s expression turned icy.

"As of now, Mattie, you are no longer working with me. You’re no longer a part of my team. And as for the benefits you’ve been receiving, consider them withdrawn. You’re on your own now."

Mattie’s face turned white with rage, but before she could respond, Julian stepped forward, his eyes blazing with anger.

"If not for Miles, I wouldn’t have thought you needed a lesson in how to treat others," he fired at her.

"But let me make one thing clear, Mattie. If you ever try to ruin Astrid’s image again, I’ll sue you. And I’ll make sure you never get out of it. You’ll be sorry you ever crossed me or my wife."

The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the angry and shocked onlookers.

Julian’s words had sent a chill down everyone’s spine, and Mattie’s eyes were wide with fear.

As Julian turned to Astrid, his expression softened, and he pulled her into his arms. "Let’s get out of here," he whispered. "We don’t need this drama in our lives." with that they walked off not without Astrid winking at Mattie.

She smirked as she recalled what had transpired, she didn’t put it in the water but had used the burner phone to make her believe Astrid had put in something.

This had made her conscious mind think something was wrong with it, still with her burner phone to make her believe it would make her go dizzy.

She had played with her mental health and it really worked, and then the proud smile appeared on her face.

"Astrid... I believed you had hands in that," Astrid hummed at this, "Well... I told you never to show pity on her." Astrid pulled him closer to her as she placed kisses on Adam’s apple.

"Hey... relax, you don’t want me losing control," he whispered, leaning closer as he placed small missiles on her forehead.

"Anything for you my love." Astrid’s heart swelled at this, she never expected him to react that way especially because it was Mattie.

"Let’s go home," Astrid announced, as they turned to leave, and a scream pierced the air, followed by the sound of shattering glass.

The guards immediately sprang into action, surrounding Julian and Astrid and pushing them back.

Astrid’s eyes were wide with fear as she struggled to see what was happening. "What’s going on?" she demanded, but the guards just shook their heads, their faces grim.

Julian tried to pull her back, but Astrid pushed forward, for a weird reason she wanted to know what had transpired with her heart racing with fear.

"Hey Astrid, get back! You can’t go there." but she snatched her hands from his grasp, the moment Julain saw it he quickly covered her eyes.

"Astrid let’s go back, it’s horrifying," he advised again but she slapped his hands off, and then she saw it. A devastating sight that made her blood run cold.

Josh was lying on the ground lifeless, his body bloody and broken.
