Chapter 208: ITS YOU

Astrid woke up to a new morning, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. She stretched her arms above her head, letting out a contented sigh as she rolled onto her side.

Her mind began to wander, flashing back to the previous night’s events.

She recalled how Julian had taken care of her, bathing her, dressing her, and feeding her. The memory of his gentle touch sent shivers down her spine.

As she recalled the way he had tenderly washed her hair, massaging her scalp with his strong fingers, she felt a flutter in her chest.

Astrid’s eyes drifted shut as she relived the memory of Julian’s care. She felt a sense of vulnerability, wondering how she had allowed him such intimate access to her body.

But as she thought about it, she realized that Julian had never taken advantage of her.

He had treated her with kindness and respect, never once making her feel uncomfortable or threatened aside when he was with Mattie.

As she lay there, lost in thought, the sweet aroma of cooking food wafted through the air, tantalizing her taste buds.

Her stomach growled in response, her eyes widened at the thought and she threw off the covers, getting out of bed.

She walked out of her room, her body feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and she couldn’t help but be delighted with how Julain had made sure she had a refreshed bath the previous night.

The smell of food grew stronger, and her mouth began to water in anticipation.

As she entered the kitchen, she was greeted by the sight of Julian, standing at the stove, cooking up a storm.

He was wearing only his pants, his broad chest on display, making her gulp down nervously.

An apron was tied around his waist, and his hair was ruffled, giving him a delightfully disheveled look.

Astrid’s eyes devoured the sight of him, her heart racing with excitement. She felt a surge of desire, her body responding to the sight of him.

She stared at him, ravished, as the memories of the previous night came flooding back. Who would have thought that she would get the most powerful man to cook for her in her home?

The kitchen was filled with the delicious aromas of bacon, eggs, and pancakes.

Astrid’s stomach growled in response, and she felt a pang of hunger. She walked towards the kitchen, her eyes fixed on Julian, who was expertly flipping pancakes.

Just as she was about to reach him, he turned around, his eyes meeting hers.

"If you are just going to stand there and admire me, you are welcome to do so," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "But if you are hungry, I have got breakfast ready, though I can give you something better."

Astrid felt a flush rise to her cheeks as she realized she had been staring at him. She looked away, trying to compose herself. "I am starving," she said, trying to sound nonchalant.

Julian chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Well, in that case, let’s get you fed," he said, expertly sliding a pancake onto a plate.

As Astrid settled down at the table, she couldn’t help but steal glances at Julian, who was busy serving her breakfast.

She felt a sense of wonder, marveling at the way he had taken care of her the previous night and she couldn’t help but wonder, did he still not find her attractive?

Was that the reason why he had never made a move on her? Was she not as attractive as Mattie? The questions swirled in her mind, leaving her feeling confused and uncertain.

They sat down to eat, and Julian began to dish out the food, telling Astrid about each dish.

"I made your favorite pancakes, with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and I also made some scrambled eggs, with crispy bacon on the side. There’s also some toast, with avocado and cherry tomatoes." He smiled at her, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think you will enjoy this breakfast."

Astrid thanked him, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. She began to eat, savoring the flavors of the food. But just as she was starting to relax, Julian’s phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and her heart sank, Mattie.

Astrid felt a surge of anger and irritation. Why was Mattie calling him? And why wasn’t he answering the phone? She looked at Julian, expecting him to pick up the call, but he just ignored it.

"I am not in the mood," he said, his voice calm.

But Astrid was already getting irritated. "If you didn’t want to pick up the call because I am here, then just say so," she said, her voice sharp.

Julian looked taken aback by her outburst. "Astrid, that’s not what I meant," he started to explain.

Astrid cut him off, her anger boiling over. "If you like Mattie so much, then maybe you should just go be with her," she said, her voice bitter.

"Because clearly, you don’t find me attractive at all." Julian’s expression changed, his eyes narrowing in surprise. "What are you talking about, Astrid?" he asked, his voice firm.

But Astrid just shook her head, feeling a sense of sadness wash over her.

"You are only with me out of guilt," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You are still in love with Mattie."

She was about to stand up, but Julian slammed his hand on the table, making her jump.

"Sit back down and eat your food," he growled, his eyes flashing with anger.

Astrid sat back down, feeling a sense of trepidation. "You can’t force me," she argued.

But Julian just leaned in, his face inches from hers. "If you don’t sit down and eat your food, I will make sure you do," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You are getting too skinny, Astrid. It’s not good for your health Getting at little things"

Astrid slapped him, feeling a surge of anger. "You call my feelings little things?" she spat, her voice filled with annoyance.

But Julian just grabbed her arm, his grip tight. "I am not talking about your feelings, Astrid," he said, his voice firm.

"I’m talking about what you thought. Do you always think I still love Mattie? You think I am still in love with her?"

He pulled her close, his eyes blazing with intensity. Astrid tried to pull away, but Julian held her firm.

"Let me tell you something, Astrid," he yelled, his voice echoing through the room. "The one I love is you. The one I want to spend the rest of my life with is you. It’s not Mattie, it’s not anyone else. It’s you, Astrid. Only you."
