Chapter 146: ANNOYING HER

Astrid walked out of her room, looking exhausted, only to be greeted by the hustle and bustle of her living room.

Maids were scurrying around the kitchen, cooking up a storm. Astrid’s eyes widened in shock as she took in the scene.

"What in the name of heck is happening here?" Astrid asked, her voice laced with confusion.

"You are awake!" Maren’s voice echoed from the kitchen. She sprinted out of the kitchen, a warm smile on her face. "I was starting to get worried."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed, still trying to process the scene before her. "Mar... are you also like him, who can just find my house with a snap of his finger?" Astrid asked, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Maren chuckled, letting out her apron with a flourish. "Nope, he told me the direction to your home. Now, come taste my cooking!" She held out a spoon, gesturing for Astrid to take a bite.

Astrid’s eyes lit up with curiosity as she gently tasted the food. The flavors exploded on her taste buds, leaving her speechless.

"Wow... You are this good at cooking?" Astrid asked, her eyes wide with amazement.

Maren smiled, her eyes sparkling with pride. "Yup, I just dislike doing so," she admitted, as she made her way back to the kitchen.

Astrid followed her, taking in the array of dishes laid out before her. "Hey, isn’t this much for..." Astrid trailed off, her eyes scanning the spread.

Maren nodded, her expression serious. "You need to store some, Mr. Jerkins told me you hardly eat and would starve yourself. Besides, you came back for a reason and won’t be changed much."

Astrid’s eyes dropped, a pang of sadness hitting her. She hadn’t eaten much since her mom’s passing, the smell of cooking reminding her too much of her mom’s kitchen. She had taken to eating only vegetables, avoiding anything that reminded her of her mom’s cooking.

But as she looked at Maren, she saw the concern etched on her face. Astrid’s lips curled up into a small smile, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Maren. "Thanks, Maren. This means a lot to me."

Maren’s face lit up with a warm smile. "Anytime, Astrid. Now, come eat, and let’s get you energized!"

It’s been a while since she had had good food, she watched as Maren tidied up along with the high maids.

When they were all done they left leaving just Maren and Astrid, they had their sit about to enjoy their food when Maren’s eyes caught something she smirked and helped Astrid serve her food.

"You had sex with him last night?" Astrid eyes widened as she hit Maren’s arm, "Hey... I don’t do that, he only..." she stopped midway recalling the previous night’s event.

"His only mad grandpa is about linking me up with Rowan and has kissed me forcefully no matter how hard I tried to stop him he wouldn’t stop." Maren stops midway listening to her words.

"It was like I got him more furious and even made him force himself on me."

"Are you saying he claimed possession of you? Like the Julian I know forced himself on you." Astrid nodded her head innocently, Maren let out a scuff.

"You do know who Juliaan is right?" Astrid glanced at her, "Maren don’t. Can You tell me more about him? It seems the Julian I knew in the past is so different from the present one."

Maren shook her head, a knowing glint in her eye. "This is the present and past of him, you just didn’t notice because he behaves differently with you." Astrid raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Maren’s words.

Maren smirked, a mischievous spark in her eye. "Julian never forces himself on anyone, not even Mattie. Guess he’s triggered and pretty sure he’s trying to finally make you his."

Astrid’s eyes widened in shock, her mind reeling with the implications. "What?" she breathed, her voice barely audible.

Maren’s expression turned serious. "He’s been acting cold towards Mattie, no matter what she does. It’s obvious he has no relationship with her anymore, and he always makes it known that he’s a married man."

Astrid’s eyes remained wide with shock, her gears turning as she processed Maren’s words.

She had always thought she couldn’t get Julian to notice her, but it seemed he had been paying attention all along.

A smile spread across Astrid’s face, a sense of pride and satisfaction washing over her. She had always wanted Julian to care for her, and now it seemed he did.

Maren’s voice cut through Astrid’s thoughts, changing the subject. "Let’s talk about work now. I have new lines launching next week, and I’m in love with your body. I’m making you my model."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed, unsure about the idea. But before she could respond, Julian’s voice cut through the air.

"I don’t want her to be a model," Julian said, his voice firm and authoritative.

Maren’s eyes flashed with irritation. "Excuse me?" she began, but Julian’s gaze silenced her.

"She’s for my eyes to feed on only, and nobody else," Julian said, his voice low and husky.

Astrid’s heart skipped a beat as Julian stopped in front of her, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"You don’t want to piss me off this early, do you?" he whispered, his breath sending shivers down Astrid’s spine.

Maren swallowed, her eyes darting between Julian and Astrid. "Julian, that’s nonsense..." she began, but Julian’s gaze cut her off.

"I mean it, Maren. She’s mine, and I won’t share her with anyone."

"You were satisfied with Mattie becoming one why all of a sudden you don’t.." one glared at Maren and she couldn’t complete her word.

"Astrid is going to follow her dream of being an architect, and also continue her schooling.." he lt out.

"How the heck did you find out!" Astrid asked shocked, "I am Julian." he answered beside her picking an apple beside buying into it.

"Astrid... you are now schooling?" Maren asked and Astrid nodded her head, "I school online, at Oakwood University with the help of Grandpa. But my exams are going to be physical."

"That Is nice but I only want you to help me launch this design, your body size is the right body size I am looking for."

"Maten,"

"Hey, Jylian you have no right to tell me what I want to do, I will be her model and you are not stopping me, you aren’t my husband." Astrid stood abruptly hitting on the dining table.

"Sign the divorce paper on time before I take you to court." with this she stormed out of their presence leaving them both speechless.
