Chapter 144: BREAKING IN HER HOUSE
As the car pulled up to the beautiful villa, Mr. Jerkins announced, "This is the villa your grandfather had arranged for you, Young miss."
Astrid’s eyes widened in awe as she gazed at the stunning mansion. A smile spread across her face, and for a moment, she felt a sense of satisfaction and belonging.
She had always dreamed of having a beautiful home like this, where she could live with her mother.
A pang of sadness hit her as she thought about her mother. She missed her so much, and the pain of losing her still felt like an open wound.
Astrid’s eyes began to well up with tears as she thought about all the memories she had made with her mother, and how she wished she could have shared this moment with her.
But before Astrid could get lost in her thoughts, Mr. Jerkins cut her off.
"Young miss," he called knowing what she was thinking about, she glanced at him and alighted from the car.
"Thanks, Mr. Jerkins," she murmured, trying to compose herself.
Mr. Jerkins nodded and handed her the key to the house. "You are welcome, young miss. I will just get your bag for you."
He popped the trunk and pulled out Astrid’s suitcase. "Let me take this inside for you," he offered, already heading towards the front door.
Astrid followed him, still feeling a bit emotional from thinking about her mother.
As they entered the house, Mr. Jerkins set her bag down in the foyer.
"I will let you get settled in, Young miss. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out."
Astrid nodded, still feeling a bit dazed. "Thanks, Mr. Jerkins."
As Mr. Jerkins turned to leave trying to help her take it to the room, Astrid called out, "Wait, Mr. Jerkins."
He turned back to her, a questioning look on his face. "Yes, Astrid?" she sighed and smiled.
"You should go home early, your wife needs you. I will take care of myself now."
Mr. Jerkins smiled and nodded, "If you say so Young miss, I will see myself out. Goodnight."
As soon as Mr. Jerkins was gone, Astrid let out a sigh of relief. She was finally alone in her new home. She walked over to the door and wanted to lock it, feeling a sense of security washed over her.
As she turned to head back inside, she noticed a presence behind her. Before she could even process what was happening, a hand clamped over her mouth, and she was dragged backward.
Astrid’s heart raced, she tried to struggle, but the hand held her firm. "Don’t scream," a low, husky voice whispered in her ear.
Astrid’s eyes widened in fear as she tried to process what was happening. She breathed out in relief as the hand slowly released its grip on her mouth.
As she turned to face her attacker, his eyes gleamed with mischief in the dim light of the hallway.
Astrid rolled her eyes, feeling a mix of relief and annoyance.
"What is your problem? How did you even get here in the first place!" she screamed angrily.
But Julian just ignored her as he shut the door himself and strolled around the apartment, his hands elegantly in his pocket.
"This is beautiful," he affirmed, still not looking back at Astrid.
"I asked a question! Why the fuck are you here!" she shrieked again.
"I don’t like my wife swearing," she furrowed her brow now irritated at how he is ignoring her question.
"I approve of this structure, guess I can also live here," he let out and her eyes widened as she moved toward him pulling his hands back, "What do you mean? You can live here!"
Only then did he look down at Astrid, he was used to her having that chubby body. Seeing how small she is now. He can’t help but be amused that she would go through that drastic change.
"I am pretty sure you went to an English country, so that shouldn’t affect your English." She narrowed her eyes at his remark.
"What the fuck! How can you even know this place before I do?" he flicked his ginger on her head making her gasp as she touched it.
"Don’t swear in front of me, I don’t like it."
"Hey! That is none of your business!"
"My wife seems to still be oblivious of the husband she has, hope you get that part soon," he stated and rolled his eyes.
"You know what, I am exhausted already, from traveling and then going to a function. So now I think it is the best time for you to get out!"
She gestured to the door and he just sat on the sofa with his hands folded against his chest.
"Well that would be hard because I planned to sleep here tonight," her eyes widened in shock.
"What? How can a man and a woman.."
"You lived in my mansion for months, don’t bring in that statement.." he intercepted her words, having an amusing look.
Astrid chuckled at this, and then gently pulled out her phone from her pocket.
"Then you can explain to the cops why you broke into someone’s house!" she asserted, already calling their contact.
Julian sprinted off from his seat, snatching Astrid’s phone from her hand and smashing it to the ground.
She gasped in shock and glanced up at Julian, "What do you think..." Astrid’s words were cut short as Julian pushed her against the wall, his hands pinning her shoulders.
Astrid’s eyes widened in shock, her face pale. "That hurt..." she grumbled, wincing in pain.
Julian’s face leaned in closer, his hands tracing up to her hair. "Why did you change your hair color to black?" he asked, his voice low and husky.
Astrid sneered, avoiding his gaze because of their closeness." That is none of your business," she mumbled, trying to push him away.
But Julian’s hands traveled down her face, his fingers tracing the contours of her cheeks. "Your face looks small," he said again, his eyes locked on hers.
Astrid shot him a glare "What is your problem? You have no say about my body..." she spat, trying to struggle free.
But Julian just smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I am still your husband, so that should be my say," he whispered, his breath hot against her skin.
Astrid’s heart raced, as he leaned in closer, his nose sniffing her scent.
Julian smiled as he sniffed her scent. She might have changed, but one thing was for sure her scent never changed. It was the only scent that always calmed him when he was furious.
But those feelings were short-lived by her next words "We should get divorced, it’s been past..." Astrid’s words were cut short as Julian bit down on her neck, his teeth sending shivers down her spine.
