Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 130: THE CUNNING LADY

Chapter 130: THE CUNNING LADY

Julian slowly pulled away from Astrid, his eyes locked on Mattie’s. Astrid’s face was flushed, her lips swollen from the kiss. Julian’s expression was cold and disappointed.

They both glanced in Mattie’s direction maki

G Julian asked a baffling question.

"You can now walk now?" Mattie fell to the ground immediately, still furious and sad at what she had just seen.

He didn’t even have that apologetic expression, just a cold one, "Leave," He heard Astrid whisper beside him.

"As..." but she cut him off instantly.

"Please," she added and his fist clenched.

"Have a good night," Julian murmured, his eyes locked on Astrid’s as she walked toward Mattie, whose gaze blazed with anger.

"You... kissed her.." Mattie cried out, her voice trembling.

Julian squatted to Mattie’s level, pulled her up from the ground, and shut the door behind her as he walked off.

Astrid shut her eyes tightly, her head resting on the headboard. She felt drained, emotionally and physically.

She wants to scream out to the universe for playing a silly love trick with her.

Then she heard her name being called calmly, "Astrid.

She fluttered her eyes open to see Maren walking into the room. She had seen Julian leaving and thought it best to check on her friend.

Maren sat beside Astrid, a small smile playing on her lips. "Darling.."

"I am exhausted," Astrid whispered truthfully, her voice barely audible.

Maren understood her, she had gone through similar struggles in her past.

"It’s hard, I know... I am also a fool for love, so I don’t think I would be the best to advise you when it comes to relationships." She snickered softly.

Astrid smiled weakly, appreciating Maren’s honesty. Maren placed her head on Astrid’s shoulder and gently patted her back.

"It’s all a phase you are going to pass through, that I know," Maren mumbled reassuringly.

Astrid’s thoughts drifted back to Julian. With just a snap of Mattie’s fingers, she could bring him to her knees. He doesn’t play with her, he loves and cares for her

Maren opened her eyes, sensing Astrid’s turmoil. "Hey.." she called, "You can tell me everything, I am all ears and I won’t judge, you know how better you are than me."

Astrid smirked and raised her head, "It’s selfish for me to love the same man that belongs to my cousin, right?" Astrid asked, seeking validation.

Maren’s expression turned mischievous. "Sorry to say that, but if that cousin is a bitch, I see no reason why you should respect that boundary." She nodded subtly.

"What? But she is my cousin.." she argued.

"It still doesn’t change the fact that you hated one another, and she doesn’t see his value so?" Maren defended and after this Astrid didn’t say anything.

Astrid’s eyes met Maren’s, a silent understanding passing between them. Maren stood up, pulling Astrid back to the bed. "Let’s get some rest. Tomorrow’s a new day, and we will face it together."

As they hugged, Astrid felt a sense of gratitude toward Maren. She knew she could count on her, no matter what.

The room was silent for a while until Maren heard Astrid snoring slightly.

"She is asleep," she mumbled and then helped her sleep in the bed. She helped clean up her room and then walked out, shutting the door behind her.

"Is she asleep?" Julian whispered, startling Maren so much that she jumped.

She turned to see Miles and Julian standing behind her, concern etched on their faces.

"What the hell!?" Maren exclaimed, her hand on her chest.

"Sorry for scaring you," Miles apologized, holding up his hands in defense.

Maren rolled her eyes, glancing at Julian. "Get your heart straight and think about the one you want to be with. If it’s Mattie, stop bothering Astrid," she said sternly.

"Hey, that’s..." Miles began.

"Shut your trap," I’m not talking to you," Maren interrupted, her voice firm.

Julian’s eyes narrowed. "That’s a bit disrespectful."

Maren smirked "I don’t care," she fired back and walked off, leaving Julian looking speechless.

Miles decided to use this opportunity to talk to Maren, patting Julian’s shoulder before following her.

As Maren reached her room door, she noticed Miles behind her and turned, giving him a "what" look.

Miles shook his head. "I...I."

"Miles, stop disrupting my day already. If you don’t have anything important to say, don’t get me irritated," Maren said, walking into her room.

Miles stopped her from shutting the door, following her inside.

"Hey! Stop..." Maren protested trying to push him off but Miles shut the door behind him, locking it with a key.

"What the fuck? Why are you?...." Maren’s words trailed off as Miles stepped closer.

She swallowed hard, backing away until her legs hit the bed, and she fell onto it.

Miles loomed over her, his eyes burning with intensity. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low and husky.

Maren’s heart raced, she tried to scramble backward, but Miles grasped her ankles, holding her in place.

"Let me go," she demanded, trying to wriggle free.

Miles’ grip tightened. "Not until we settle this."

"Hey!" Maren screamed, her voice echoing through the room, as she pushed Miles away. Her eyes blazed with anger and hurt.

"What’s wrong? You’ve always liked this, why suddenly?" she demanded, her chest heaving.

She smacked him across the face, the sound of her palm connecting with his cheek filling the air. "How dare you?" she spat, her words dripping with venom.

Miles’ eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in frustration. "What? Are you getting used to Maddox?" he asked, his tone accusatory.

Maren rolled her eyes, dismissing his question. She turned away, walked to the mirror, and pulled off her dress, revealing her lingerie underneath. The fabric hugged her curves, accentuating her beauty.

Miles stormed over, his eyes burning with desire, and wrapped the duvet around her. "What’s wrong with you? Don’t you care about your dignity anymore?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

He pulled her close, his hands roaming over her body. "I climb into rich men’s beds, so why should it look like...." Her words trailed off as he turned her to face him, pulling her into a passionate kiss.

Maren struggled to break free, but Miles held tight. "You climb into beds, right... and the only one I will allow you to climb into is mine," he whispered, his eyes burning with intensity.

Maren’s eyes flashed with anger. She slapped him across the face again, pushing him away.

"What’s your problem? You want me to sleep with you again after what happened?" she asked, her voice trembling. Miles’ eyes flashed with anger.

"I said we’re just friends, didn’t you get that?" she shrieked.

"I got that part but will only stay in that lane if there’s no Maddox."Miles barked out as his face twisted in anger.

"I would rather be with him than you," she declared, as she walked away.

Miles’ hand shook as he watched her walk into the bathroom. Not able to with his anger he pulled out his phone and called his assistant.

The assistant, Joe, was sleeping when Miles’ call came in, he was about to hang up when he checked the caller ID.

He jumped out of bed, seeing it was his boss now picking up his phone on the second ring.

"Find anything dirty I can use to get Maddox," Miles ordered.

Joe’s eyes fluttered, confused. "Hear me?" Miles asked.

"Sir... I don’t know which Maddox you’re talking about," Joe replied hesitantly.

"The only one I have an inkling of is the president, and I don’t think..."

Miles cut him off. "So, which Maddox do you think I would be talking about?" Joe swallowed hard.

"I am sorry, boss." Miles’ tone turned menacing.

"Find anything dirty on him tonight. I am visiting him tomorrow." Joe’s eyes widened, his mind racing with the implications.

He had been sleeping peacefully before Miles’ call, and now he was expected to work through the night, compromising his health.

Meanwhile, Maren stood behind the door, listening to the conversation with a broad smile on her face.

"Guess I have finally got you on edge," she whispered, wrapping her towel around her chest.

Her thoughts flashed back to her pregnancy scene, and she felt a sense of satisfaction knowing she had the upper hand.

She leaned against the door, her eyes gleaming with triumph.

FLASHBACK

"Are you giving up on him?" Astrid asked as they both found their way to the hospital to greet Astrid’s mum.

"I told you the pregnancy trick was going to work on him," She bounced as swallowed hard at this.

"But killing a baby is out of it," she whispered still in shock at her choice to get the man she wanted.

"I am not jeopardizing my career for a baby he might not want," she answered her gaze serious now.

"I will only have his baby when he loves me," she added.

"You sure you aren’t going to regret it?" she smirked, "He knows I am cunning." she let out staring at Astrid.

"Everyone knows how cunning I am and I don’t hide it. I love Miles and I want him, so I will do everything to get him."

"Even sleeping with Madfox to get him jealous?" Astrid asks in shock and Maren stares at her with a sly smirk.

"I repeat, I will do everything to make Miles mine, I am not giving up on the one I love so you are not going to give up and get him."
