A Regressor's Guide to the Frozen Apocalypse -
Chapter 85: Name
Chapter 85: Name
Almost twenty days had passed. They constantly travelled between Newtown and Light’s compound, trying to get everything just right.
Light had specifically asked Aurora what they needed to do for a wall. Aurora explained that it would not take long to encircle the centre of Newtown, even if she were not very knowledgeable on the subject.
They just needed a lot of building materials. Light already had an incredible amount of these materials at his disposal.
With this, the centre of Newtown began to be surrounded by walls.
After all this, Light would eventually leave to finish off the church without going outside, or rather, with almost a hundred people following him.
Once back in his house, he took off his mask and threw it into his inventory with a single word, flung himself down on the couch and instantly rested his head against it.
It was at that moment that Elise gently picked Light’s head up and laid him on her lap. Even though Light was so ready to fall asleep, he could still see his sister’s gaze on him.
"All the houses in the compound are completed. Since Jack and I did extra work, it took very little time to get the planks and pieces of wood together. We’ve built almost a hundred and fifty huts. I feel like I’m tired of my life, I’m so tired."
After Light’s words, Elise’s hands started to caress his head. At that moment, Pacifica’s voice was heard:
"You keep calling this place a settlement. Aren’t you going to give it a name? I don’t know, something like the Powys troop or the Company of Awakened Ones."
After hearing these words, Light opened his eyes and questioned, "Awakened Ones?"
"I don’t know!" Pacifica complained and then added, "You know, you and Jack have powers, that’s why I said that it was just a thought."
Light smiled after these words and said, "We need to find a name. I have some things in mind, but they don’t seem to make much sense."
When Petunia heard her little brother’s words, she said, "Let’s hear it, after all, it will be better than waiting and not sharing."
Light then said, "Actually, I have to say that I only had one idea in mind, I didn’t think you would want me to share it, so I lied straight out. This idea is simply [Den], you know, you know, symbolising crows and stuff."
After Light’s words, everyone pursed their lips, none of them seemed to accept this name, of course it was obvious that the name was not illogical and it did not sound bad, but each person in the room was looking for a more free, less scary and humane name.
Light could tell by the lack of response that he was being rejected.
Every one of them seemed to be thinking with their eyes closed. The fact that no one had a clue made everything strange.
After a short time, Lawrence entered the room with a glass in his hand and placed it on the table in front of Light’s recliner.
"You’ll be 21 in three days sir, sorry for making you drink chocolate milk every day, not really, I’m quite resourceful," Lawrence said suddenly.
When he saw that everyone’s gaze was locked on him, he looked around curiously and then added, "I think you were having a deep conversation, forgive me for interrupting."
Petunia shook her head and asked, "We’re trying to come up with a name for this compound, Lawrence, any ideas?"
Lawrence pondered inquisitively and gently took a seat in one of the empty chairs. After only five minutes of silence, he began to speak without stopping:
"What about the name [Utopia]?"
Light’s eyes widened when he heard the word and then he said, "That’s...not so bad."
"So, if you think about it, sir, you’re trying to build a Utopia in a world filled with the apocalypse itself. A big settlement where the good-hearted can live, where there will be no fighting," Lawrence added.
With that, Elise smiled and looked at Lawrence and said, "I think it’s a perfect name, very well thought out Lawrence."
Lawrence bowed his head as he heard those words and said, "I thank you, madame Mistress." Even Lawrence himself seemed to accept that Elise was Light’s wife.
Pacifica rolled her eyes and fell silent as if she didn’t think she could participate in this discussion right now.
"Well, I vote for Utopia, what do you all say?" asked Petunia. It was clear that everyone agreed on this name.
With that out of the way, Light got up from where he was lying and finished the cold chocolate milk in one drink lay back on Elise’s lap, turned his head towards Elise and instantly closed his eyes.
It didn’t take him long to fall asleep.
When he opened his eyes again, he could see that it was around seven in the morning. Elise was nowhere in sight, Light’s head was on a pillow, he had slept much better than he thought.
When he got up, he could see that the sun was already rising, the red sun was much brighter today, Light shook his head as if he couldn’t understand what was going on, and then he put on a pair of sunglasses to protect his eyes from the radiation of the sun and went outside.
Although he didn’t know what was going on, he realised that the temperature of the sun had dropped. The red sun, which did not emit much heat anyway, had now officially become a state that did not arouse any sensation on human skin.
Normally, when standing outside for more than 3 hours, the human body starts to itch a little. It was obvious that this was not a problem for human health, but still, a very heavy feeling was falling on everyone.
At this moment, the red sun was officially extinguished, it was like the silence before the storm.
Light suddenly reached Jack’s side and handed the young boy a pair of sunglasses, followed by a mask covering his mouth and nose.
Once Jack had his sunglasses on, the march to the rest of the group began.
