Chapter 72: New Problem

They had managed to enter Birmingham, and as the vehicles were travelling on the road, they could easily see people watching them on the roadside.

It was as if they had come out of the war, it was really a terrible sight.

Light wanted to convey a few words to the whole group with the help of the radio and activated the radio:

"Remember, I know you’re nervous, but we have to move forward without giving anything away, NOBODY is to say a word about what we saw, this is a direct order. Over."

After Light’s words, the words of approval came back quickly and after almost twenty minutes, the group finally managed to reach the main building of the Roan group.

When Light got down from the vehicle, the guards in front of the main building saw him and their faces, which were looking around hopelessly just a few seconds ago, were filled with energy.

He was not a stupid person, he could see that something was wrong.

The main building of the Roan group was a four-storey building just behind the hotel. One of the guards immediately greeted Light and invited him inside.

In just a few minutes, Light managed to arrive in front of Elise’s room knocked on the door and entered, not even knowing what to say at the sight he saw.

"Elise..." he muttered after almost ten seconds.

"I’m sorry Arah...I couldn’t fulfil your request...We were ambushed on our way through Stechford...I think there will be a fight. Luckily no one died." Elise said suddenly.

When Light looked at the tired woman standing in front of him, he could see the bandage on her head, it looked like her foot was broken, there were bandages even on her arms, but this woman was continuing to work.

It was just as Light had thought. Of course, even in a place like Oxford, there were gang wars, death raids between flats, and so on. In a place like Birmingham, it was impossible for this not to happen sooner or later.

"What happened? I mean, what exactly happened?" Light questioned.

Elise paused for a few seconds and then replied, "We got some news, we were trying to get to Coleshill after hearing from one of my group... We were ambushed on the way there."

When Light heard these words, he gently came to Elise’s side and then very slowly touched Elise’s hand and said, "Dear friend. Do you remember the faces of those bastards?"

Elise immediately shook her head left and right and then said, "I have no information, they weren’t wearing masks, just their faces...how should I put it..."

Light asked with great curiosity, "What are their faces?"

After this question, Elise carefully looked into Light’s eyes and then answered, "They didn’t have faces...I think."

Hearing this answer, Light believed Elise without even having to question her twice, there really could be a big trouble going around.

First, those corrupted religious symbols, are now the signs of a possible war.

Light had to stay in Birmingham for a while, he had to get to the root of this problem.

"I got your back friend, you rest now." Light said and with that, he took out a lot of food and drinks from his inventory and left them at the foot of the table where Elise was working.

With that, he left the room and then found Andrew and said, "I want you to leave a few people here, five people will be enough, their only task is to protect Elise in that room. A group of mostly women will be much better."

Andrew nodded at the order and within a short time had introduced the group of three women and two men to Elise and told her what was about to happen.

Elise was very grateful, she seemed to be touched that Light was leaving part of his fighting force to protect her.

Light was already prepared. He and the twenty men under his command were to set off. They had filled their bellies with food and drink.

They quickly started to move on the road without even getting into the carriages. The group was in Digbeth, so they were quite close to Stechford.

After almost 20 minutes of walking, they crossed the Bordesley Green road and with that, they were near Birmingham Hospital.

The hospital was not large and could be seen with the naked eye. The fact that not all of Birmingham had been cleared of snow and that the hospital was now visible to the naked eye meant that there were people there.

After a short exchange of information, Light managed to learn that the people who attacked Elise had been here many times.

No one knew exactly who these people were, but they were called by different names. Light decided to call them "faceless".

According to the information received, this ambush continued to be rumoured by the public. The ambush took place at Solihull College. Or rather, in the neighbourhood.

It was clear that Elise and her group wanted to bypass Woodlands Cemetery, in short, they were going to go around the Cole River to get to Coleshill. They didn’t seem to want to follow the road, it was wise, and it was much safer to go through narrow and varied areas than to take the main road ridiculously.

Still, just because it was much safer didn’t mean it was completely safe.

Light had managed to come to Solihull College without waiting after what he had learnt. Together with the group following him, they had managed to learn exactly what was going on from the people staying in this place.

Before Elise came here with a group of almost a hundred people. The people called ’faceless’ were nearby this collage.

Some even said that the dead people were eaten by this faceless group or whatever.

It was like a ninety-degree turn, it had become a much more dangerous and cautious situation.

In short, Solihull College and the people in it were safe in part because Elise had managed to weaken this faceless group.

In this situation, Light’s chances of success were very high. He had to be careful.
