"Puhahaha!" Light’s main laughter took the group and Elise by surprise. Although none of them could figure out what was going on, Elise started to think that Light didn’t like them at all. Just then Light spoke up:
"Alright, you’ll stay here for a while, I’ll take you with me back to the group’s headquarters, I hope you’re used to killing people."
After these words, Charles, the leader of the group, suddenly stood up and saluted and said, "Yes, sir." Light nodded his head as if he was pleased and then took out dozens of clothes, many bags, guns, bullets and a few snacks from his Sub-Space and put them on the huge table.
To the amazement of the group and Elise, Light said, "Choose from these, as many as you want, believe me, as long as you don’t betray me, you don’t even know how comfortable you will live. But if you betray me, even god won’t be able to take you all from me."
The group had heard in the last few days how many resources he had, some rumours even said that Light was not human.
"These are....." Elise looked surprised, a little upset that Light hadn’t given them such things, but she knew that wasn’t their agreement.
"Don’t worry Elise, I’m sure we’ll do a lot of trading in the future, the Scavengers will take good care of you."
Light’s sudden words broke the atmosphere of confusion and on the contrary, cheered everyone up. Although the group was still staring at everything in front of them, they still started to recover, and there was nothing else they could do.
"Oh, by the way, I said you would stay here, but we will go zombie hunting, we will leave when the first low zombie place report comes in." Light said, and with that, the group nodded. He found himself 4 military personalities and suddenly there were 7 people in his group who knew how to fight.
Although Lawrence was also a human being who knew how to fight, and on top of that, he had an excellent command of some of the martial arts, the presence of 7 soldiers who were ready to kill people one way or another was going to be more important than anything else. And the presence of people who could do it for Light would stand above all these formations.
"Yes, sir!" Charles said suddenly, standing up and looking at him as if he was offering his loyalty to Light.
Light only nodded his head after these words, and then his ear was suddenly caught by the sounds rising from outside.
The shouting and shouting were ringing in his ears and managed to attract his attention a little bit.
"What’s going on?" Light suddenly felt that he had to ask this question, the curiosity that was stuck in his head seemed to overtake him.
"It’s trading time, once a week, market stalls are set up all over the streets and people trade food, drinks or things to keep them warm. Basically a bazaar."
After Elise’s reply, Light nodded and then stood up, smiled behind his mask as if his interest had grown even more and prepared to leave the room, saying "Nothing attracts a merchant better than trade."
Of course, this forced Elise to follow Light and the two left the hotel together.
When Light saw the scene around him, he realised once again what he had missed in his life before he died. The whole government might have collapsed, or the survivors might be hiding somewhere, but one thing was certain...civilisation had not completely collapsed.
The sound of prices going up, the shouts of people who were weak or still alive, and the items lying on the stalls made of snow and wood, were a very strange but entertaining event for someone like Light.
Even the guards who came out with Elise could vaguely see the bags of money lying around Light, and each of them couldn’t help but hope that this man didn’t buy the whole market.
"Cough-cough! Do you mind if I ask how much you’re going to buy, Mr Arah?" Light shook his head when Elise voiced this question, and then, for the first time in a long time, he embarrassedly said, "Forgive my rudeness, ma’am, you know we haven’t seen anything civilised for a long time as a group of Scavengers, I’m personally quite excited." This alone seemed to indicate to Elise that not much would be purchased.
With these words, Light rushed forward to start the shopping deluge.
He started to examine the stalls in the market one by one. Of course, there was nothing as good as the things he had taken from the modern world and placed in his Sub-Space. Apart from the occasional usable car part, fresh meat or somehow fresh wheat, there was nothing good to be seen.
Light was a little disappointed, of course, he didn’t expect to find anything high-tech, but still, there had to be something of incredible value visible in this whole market. In case he found such a thing, he was even planning to provide enough food for 1000 people for a few months.
Just to get what he sees.
Of course, this was only a small piece of hope.
-----
The group, which had been wandering around in the bazaar that stretched along the streets for almost 50 minutes, had started to wait with Light’s sudden pause.
"What the hell is this?" Light suddenly thought. While walking around, he kept his ’inspection’ skill in use just in case, and he never thought that doing so would show him so much favour.
Following his thought, Light quickly moved towards a snow stall on the corner of the street with no customers in front of it and pointed to the 3 spheres on the stall and asked "What do you want for these?".
While Elise and the others were trying to figure out what was going on, the shopkeeper seemed close to fainting from fear. Elise’s presence had people in an incredible panic, of course, Elise and her group were protecting Birmingham, but still, the presence of this woman was terrifying for everyone, after all, Elise had incredible power in her hands, especially with the government gone.
"Calm down, we’re not here to cause trouble, answer the gentleman in front of you." Elise suddenly said, of course, the woman herself did not want people to be afraid of her, who would have thought that her actions would open the door to such a path?
