Chapter 90: Chapter 90: FUTURE PLANS

From the hill to the restaurant, it wasn’t such a long walk, so it took a while before the two arrived there.

When they arrived, the men were offloading the furniture from the ox-cart already.

Calista brought Susan into the restaurant, and after looking around, she was satisfied with the end result.

With everything in place, recalling the designs in her head, she began to command the few people who were there with her. With their help, it took a couple of hours before everything was assembled.

Since there wasn’t anything complicated, all decorations were simple and could be finished in just one day.

Looking satisfactorily at the restaurant, which now looked homier, Calista was all smiles.

With everything done, she sent away with the men, leaving the two of them at the site.

"Now that the decorations are done, I can say that the restaurant is nearly ready to open. But before doing so, I will take this chance to teach you a bit. So, every day for two to three hours tops, we will come here and do the lessons."

"While teaching you to cook, I will also impart to you some business skills I have learnt through the years. I hope that with what I teach you, you will be able to achieve your ambitions one day!" Calista said to Susan with a solemn expression, entering the mentor mode.

Susan nodded as she accepted this schedule. Three hours wasn’t much after all. Especially for someone who was learning for free, something that would have cost her if she went to someone else.

Besides, having Calista teaching her in her dangerous state, three hours was already a lot. So, she felt grateful.

The two friends talked for a long time, with Calista explaining her vision to Susan, before they left, heading back to the hill.

When they returned, Ma Susan was done with all the chores and the food had been prepared as well. With someone helping her, Calista felt that it wasn’t bad to be vulnerable after all.

Later that evening, Calista who was alone at her hill, with the shield up and running, was sitting on her bed, the lamp Faith gifted her lighting the room brightly. In her hand, she held a notebook and a pen in hand as she jotted something down.

Getting pregnant was something that she looked forward to desperately before and something that came unexpectedly, as she wasn’t expecting her to conceive that fast. A lot of plans just derailed from the path.

She needed to make new plans and plans that would accommodate her current state as well as the future, with many possibilities.

Living on the hill was never a bad thing for her. However, as a pregnant woman, she wasn’t omnipotent and disasters couldn’t be avoided. Although she was equipped with all sorts of armor, there were incidents that humans couldn’t prevent after all.

By living on the hill, whenever Calista wanted to go somewhere, she had to climb up and down the hill, which was quite strenuous for anyone. Maybe that’s why she didn’t get a lot of trespassers and visitors.

Just thinking of the climb, a person could get disinterested.

There was no way she would be confined on the hill until she delivered. Especially now that she has a business to run. She would be required to go here and there, and climbing that hill again would become a problem.

Besides, there was the issue of the materials used. While she might be stronger than other people, it wasn’t set in stone that her child would be as fortunate as her.

When she got the rewards for completing the missions given to her by the system, she took what was helpful to her and no one else.

In other words, she didn’t have a lot of savings items that could be given to her child except for the medicine and money she had accumulated.

Most of the things were bound to her, another strategic plan by the system administrator to control what they gave to the mortals, something that she understood perfectly well.

Taking that into consideration, Calista needed to provide a safe environment for her child. This way she won’t be stressed daily and risk losing the baby she got after a long struggle.

It’s been nearly two weeks and the trip that would take two days from Silverbroke town to Liresa city, the city Orson went to, and two days to return, had swallowed him up.

There was no way a person would take over ten days to buy medicine and other necessities.

Even if she wanted to fool herself, Calista’s intuition and guts, which had never failed her, were screaming at her, ’Don’t expect too much. Just live your life. He is gone!’

As much as she didn’t want to accept such a reality, it might really be the case. She gave him a chance to leave, and he took it. So, what should she expect?

Because she might have been abandoned by her baby daddy, Calista needed to put that into her plans as well.

She wasn’t someone who relied solely on men from the start, so her plans didn’t derivate much though they were quite large, especially getting realized at such an early age.

Most of her plans were plans she wanted to be committed to in a few years. Unfortunately, now she had to change that, which wasn’t bad.

The first thing on the agenda was buying more land and building a proper brick house. With a baby on the way, Calista didn’t want her child to grow up in a tree house. Climbing stairs up and down all the time was dangerous. What if she slips and falls? Who would she cry to?

So, a house was needed not just any house but one that would make those city folks drown in envy and travel all the way to the village to take a look.

She was planning to go all out, especially when everything in villages and backward places like hers was very cheap.

From bricks, sand and other materials, it was cheaper than getting those in cities. What a villager can buy in Silverbroke for one copper coin in Liresa city, that thing might even cost more than twenty copper coins.

That’s how business was everywhere.

Fortunately, she didn’t mind building a mansion in a village. After all, her business wasn’t concentrated in cities or towns.

She was planning on improving her village and neighboring villages, so it didn’t matter how long it was going to take to achieve her dream.

As long as she gets what she wants, then she will be satisfied.
