Chapter 87: Chapter 87: NO RIGHTS TO BLAME HIM

He was someone who had gained his memories after all, though he lied to her that it was just partial.

In fact, the husband of hers never lost his memories, a painful truth she learnt the day she faced that shameless man who pretended to be her husband back then.

If her son, Blackey, didn’t tell her what he saw that day, she wouldn’t even believe it as well. However, there was a saying which said, ’Use people that you trust.’ Since she had chosen him as a husband, Calista decided to trust him all the way.

She didn’t know what he wanted from her, but what she knew was that he didn’t have any ill intent towards her. Which was why her trust in him was high, even when she let him go.

It was also another way of doing the last trust test on him. To see whether he would return to her after he left for a legitimate reason.

The gamble she made this time was pretty huge. However, she still hoped that, regardless of how they started, Orson would still come back to her. She was carrying his child, after all.

At the same time, even if he didn’t return, she would still accept it. It was wrong of her to blackmail and use despicable means to force him into marriage in the first place.

With his memory intact, he might have a family. So even if he didn’t return, she would just accept it and swallow the loss. At least in the whole fiasco, she still got something she wanted in return. A child and one she would raise with all her abilities.

So, no matter what was going to happen in the future, she needed to take care of herself and stop worrying.

Worrying and stressing about Orson over the past ten days had cost her a lot. If her body wasn’t nourished with the medicine, who knows what huge loss she would have faced at this stage?

Not knowing that she was pregnant and yet working so hard, thinking about a husband who might not even return to her, slowly depressing herself in the process. It was a miracle that she didn’t lose her baby.

If it were other people, they might be mourning right now. And if such a situation had happened to her, she didn’t know how she was going to live in the future.

After waiting for nearly eleven years, she finally conceived and if that baby slipped through her fingers because of her carelessness, she didn’t want to even think about the possibility.

Thank goodness it was found pretty quick and now she can take precautions.

As for Orson, whether he returns or not, she decides to live her life normally without thinking much. Of course, it would be better if he returned to her side, but if he didn’t, who was she to blame him?

She didn’t have any right to blame him in the end.

With that in mind, Calista let her friends do whatever they wanted with her. After all, it was her benefit in the end.

After bundling her up and placing cushions behind her to make a comfortable resting place for her, Faith and Susan ran around until there was warm food in front of her.

Under the watchful gaze of the two, Calista ate her food with gusto and soon it was finished. After the meal, she was feeling drowsy, so she took another nap again. Since she heard from the doctor that she needed a lot of rest, she decided to follow what her body wanted.

Although she had been sleeping a lot, it wasn’t that much compared to what her body kept on fighting for.

When her head hit the pillow, it didn’t take long before she was snoring softly.

Seeing her sleeping, the two friends could now start doing other things, and it suddenly became busy for them.

The bystanders finally left after being given a white lie by Faith. Although they were curious about what was going on, they could only leave with many hypotheses in their heads.

Time trickled by very fast, and Faith kept to her promise. Susan and Calista both checked out of the inn and moved to Faith’s house for the night.

The next day, Calista was told to remain at the house while Susan and Faith went to collect and pay for the orders which were made yesterday.

When everything had been gathered, they took Calista to meet doctor Jill who took another look at her and gave another lengthy lesson which Calista took seriously, after all, this was something new and she needed to learn as much as she could to avoid any accidents in the future.

After getting the examination, Calista and her two friends returned to Faith’s shop where, at noon, Frank arrived.

All the food which had been bought was put on the ox-cart, while Calista and Susan boarded Faith’s carriage, which was going to bring safely them to the village.

When Calista left, she sighed helplessly as she looked at the extra clothes and quilts Faith had given her. Being worried about her health, Faith’s generosity was triggered.

On the way to the village, Calista was all smiles as she listened as Susan retold her how she was when she was pregnant with her daughter. Hearing the actual symptoms from someone who once was pregnant before, Calista felt that she would add more knowledge to what she already had.

With something interesting to listen to, time tricked by very fast and shortly they were reaching Cropville village. But before reaching their village, they had to pass by Nicosa village.

With the carriage in the front and the ox-cart slowly following, the villagers, on their way home or going to other villages, couldn’t help but look at the carriage and their gossip state was triggered.

"That lass’s husband is delivering things again!"

"Alas, to think that for days we have been seeing him delivering things, that vixen should be having more money than what she used."

"Don’t let me think about it. My heart aches when I think of the money that is being purged."

"Why does that carriage look familiar?"

"I have seen it before. Was it a year ago or before then?"

"Who could be inside?"

"Not sure and don’t care. I need to hurry home. I have a pot of corn over the fire."

People talk and that was something that people couldn’t stop, no matter what.

Despite their curiosity and envy, Calista finally reached Cropville village. The fact that her house was closer to the road, she didn’t have to parade in the whole village for anyone to see her.

Both the carriage and ox-cart slowly climbed the hill. Fortunately, it wasn’t a steep hill, otherwise who knows how many accidents would have happened in the years she had been living there?
