A Love Reborn: Finding Romance Twice In One Lifetime -
Chapter 84: FAINTED
Chapter 84: Chapter 84: FAINTED
Susan chuckled helplessly as she watched the confrontation of friends as she stood aside, unwilling to get anywhere closer.
Watching and eating melons with her were the few ladies who were buying some clothes and other things, with smiles on their faces.
It wasn’t every day that they got to see free drama, after all.
"Is that how you talk to your friend?"
"Umph! A friend who freaks her friend with such a welcome! Do you want to send me to my death?" not willing to back down, Calista retorted shamelessly as her hands were on her waist, her head raised high as if she was fighting for justice.
Faith nearly choked as she listened to Calista. Damn, it’s been a while since she tasted Calista’s vile tongue. To think that the other came to look for trouble from the start, it seemed that it wasn’t going to end pretty soon.
However, she loved venting out, too. With Calista cooperating with her, the two could just go all out without any reservation.
"You should be grateful that I have been keeping an eye out. Others don’t even have friends like me!" who said that she doesn’t know how to retort?
It was Calista’s turn to choke this time. Faith’s words couldn’t help but remind her of how unfortunate she was in the first few years after her rebirth. She didn’t have any close friends at all, and she was pretty lonely.
Thankfully, she met Faith back then, became acquainted and been secretly helping each other to avoid drama.
"You ... fine, you win this time!" reluctant to continue the fiasco, as she felt touched by Faith’s words. Calista gave up the battle without going far.
Faith, seeing Calista surrendering, she gawked in surprise. Calista wasn’t one to give up a verbal fight without making her opponent vomit a few mouthfuls of blood, and yet this time she easily gave up. Was she up to something else again?
She couldn’t help but wonder as she looked warily at her. However, Calista’s words made her at peace.
"I am feeling hungry. Do you have some food?" rubbing her stomach, Calista seriously said, and it didn’t seem like she was joking at all.
"You ...." Rendered speechless again, Faith massaged her throbbing temples first before walking away helplessly. "There is warm food inside. Come and eat!" and called out as she left.
Calista, hearing that there was food, grinned sheepishly before following her friend. Although she had eaten roughly two hours ago, her stomach was grumbling once again.
Since she wasn’t in the mood to fight with Faith, such a childish game, filling her stomach was more important. Without considering her image, she hurriedly followed Faith, leaving Susan and the others who were still waiting to watch more drama, baffled.
"It ended just like that!"
"And here I thought they were going to go at it for hours!"
"It’s a shame!"
Susan shook her head helplessly as well. She wasn’t expecting the dram to end suddenly. However, when she thought of the time they ate earlier, she couldn’t help but show a worried expression on her face.
’Calista had been eating too much recently. Is she so stressed? Why can’t Orson come back soon? At this rate, it will not be shocking if we hear from the doctor that she is sick!’ as a friend, Susan was worried about Calista’s health.
All she knew was that Orson left for the city to find medicine for the clinic. It’s been ten days since he left and didn’t hear a single word from him.
She was worried and couldn’t help but imagine how worried and anxious Calista would be since she was the wife of Orson.
’No matter what, I will drag Calista to the clinic today!’ Susan thought, determination flashing in her eyes.
However, as she was busy encouraging herself, a loud cry sounded through the shop, startling not just her but everyone who was in the shop as well.
"Oh, my goddess! Calista, what’s wrong with you?"
"Someone, call the doctor! Hurry!"
Faith’s frantic yells filled everyone’s ears and when Susan, heard that her body automatically moved, trembling and shivering with fear.
’Please, be okay!’ she prayed earnestly as she hurried to the back office where she halted in her steps after seeing a scene she would never forget in her life.
Lying on the ground with Faith instantly shaking her, Calista was unconscious. Something that she had never seen Calista like before.
"Faith ... what ... what is wrong with her? What happened?" stuttering as she forced her limbs to move forward, she asked.
Drops of sweat were dropping to the floor while tears were gathering in Faith’s eyes as she helplessly shook Calista, who lay in her arms motionless. If it wasn’t that she was seeing Calista’s chest moving, she would think that the other was gone.
"She ... what’s wrong with her? She suddenly collapsed. Didn’t she eat? Is she sick? What’s happening to her?" Faith frantically threw questions at Susan.
Susan, hearing that, hurriedly moved forward and soon was crouching in front of the two and responded shakily, "She... she has been having dizzy spells lately. We planned to go to the clinic later but never thought that she would collapse like this easily. Let’s call the doctor. It might be serious!"
Faith, hearing that, nodded her head and suddenly felt at ease. As long as the ailment is found, getting the cure is easy. So, her stress levels lowered, making her think clearly as well.
The two women helped each other to carry Calista and placed her on the bed before Faith left to call the doctor.
When she left the shop, she met with her assistant, who was walking alongside a familiar face, and that made her overwhelmed with relief.
"I brought the doctor, madam. Is she fine now?" the young assistant said, worry written all over her face.
Looking at the assistant who had done such a great job in time without delay, Faith felt that it was necessary to raise her salary later.
"Thank you for rushing to call the doctor. She is still unconscious!" with a faint smile on her face, Faith responded to the assistant before shifting her focus to the doctor, "Doctor Jill, please, come this way!" imploring the doctor as she showed the way.
With a life on the line, the doctor didn’t make things difficult
and hurriedly followed Faith inside the shop.
