Chapter 83: Chapter 83: IT’S JUST A DIZZY SPELL
There was so much that Calista had to do after going to town. As someone who wanted to start a business and be serious about it as well, she had to put in a lot of effort.
And the first step in doing so was to purchase quality ingredients.
Back in her village, there was so much that she couldn’t find, which prompted her to travel to Silverbroke town to search for it. Of course, the town didn’t offer a lot as most of the supplies could be found in the city.
However, as the restaurant hadn’t opened yet, and it wasn’t certain if there would be customers, Calista felt that getting everything in Silverbroke would do the trick.
So, for the next two days, accompanied by Susan and Faith, Calista was busy running everywhere buying what she needed and having Frank send everything back to the village. That was more so for furniture and other stuff which wasn’t perishable.
For meat and other easily affected food products, Calista decided to buy everything when she was returning. This way she would preserve them in the best way that she knew without other people raising questions.
Calista went to the workshops and furniture shops where she purchased tables and chairs for the restaurant.
Since the village carpenter was occupied with making the clinic’s furniture, she wasn’t patient enough to wait for him to start on a new project.
Besides, the furniture sold in town had great quality, and she liked it.
There was also the issue of pots, plates, spoons, and kitchenware required to have the restaurant running.
On the third day, Calista was done purchasing the furniture and other things for the restaurant. What remained were the food ingredients and getting a few aprons from Faith.
She was planning on returning to the village the next day, in the afternoon, after Frank came to pick them up.
As for the third day, she was just making orders. This way when tomorrow arrives, the sellers will have what they want in stock.
After making several orders for meat and other vegetables, and buying other non-perishables, she went to chill at Faith’s shop.
Faith had promised her a few clothes, so she was there to fit in and just spend some quality time with her friend.
Alighting from the carriage, Calista stood in front of Faith’s shop and raised her hands to massage her temples.
She hadn’t been feeling a bit well lately. The dizzy spells would attack her now and then. Fortunately, she had the medicine at hand, so she would take a sip and feel better soon after.
’I must be crazy! It’s been ages since I fell sick myself. Do I miss him that much?’ contributing her unwellness to Orson, who hadn’t sent a letter to inform her of how things were going in the city, Calista couldn’t help but suddenly miss her husband.
’He will come back, right?’ she asked inwardly, though she was starting to feel uncertain.
It was that kind of intuition that tells you that something just wasn’t right and yet can’t pinpoint what exactly.
But the other Calista in her desperately wanted to hold on to that hope, so she hurriedly brushed that thought away as she sighed.
"Are you feeling well?" seeing Calista lost in her thoughts once again, Susan asked worriedly.
Calista looked at her friend and responded with a faint smile on her face, "It’s nothing. Just a bit dizzy!" revealing her current situation to her friend.
When Susan heard that, she looked worriedly at her friend. In these past few days, she had realized that Calista’s dizzy spells had come and gone like a phantom. Although they didn’t cause any harm, it still made her feel worried.
After all, it would be unfortunate if Calista really passed out because of dizziness when her husband was still away. However, knowing Calista, she couldn’t just intervene and say things that would make her upset.
Nevertheless, she still responded with worry laced in her tone, "Cali, how about we go and see the doctor later when you have rested?" suggesting to Calista.
Rather than letting the small ailment turn into a bigger one just because she was wary and afraid of irritating her friend, Susan braced herself and spoke.
Calista sighed as she listened to her friend’s suggestion. She didn’t like doctors, actually, and visiting the doctor just because she felt dizzy when her medicine was one thousand times better than any other medicine available. Was that even sensible?
However, she knew that her friend was worried about her. Since not many people knew about her miraculous medicines and her real self, Susan couldn’t know what she had hidden.
Susan was just worried for her and, having such a caring friend, Calista couldn’t find any strength to disappoint her.
"Okay, we will go later!" Calista acquiesced to her friend’s suggestion.
After all, it didn’t hurt to get a professional check on her, despite her dislike for doctors.
Susan, hearing Calista agreeing, sighed with relief before she helped Calista into the shop. Afraid that Calista might pass out since dizzy spells were indeed quite dangerous and could render anyone unconscious, Susan decided to be careful.
Calista shook her head helplessly, seeing how careful Susan was. Why did she have to put in so much effort?
It wasn’t like she was diagnosed with some terminal illness. However, having someone caring for her so much, Calista felt that she hadn’t doted on Susan for nothing all these years.
At least, among the people she had seen, helped and been with, there were still a few loyal and genuine people remaining.
"And here I thought you would never arrive!" unfortunately, Calista’s dreamy mood was suddenly shattered by Faith’s loud voice which welcomed them as soon as they walked into the shop.
Glooming glaring at Faith, Calista opened her mouth and started cursing, ignoring the few customers in the shop.
"Dear, you are a lady. Can’t you speak low for once? You nearly made my heart drop to the ground, you know!" she exaggeratedly said as she patted her chest with a wronged expression as if she had suffered a loss.
Faith, looking at this friend of hers, being held like a terminal patient, was baffled, rendered speechless at the unexpected attack.
’What kind of fireworks did she eat today?’
