Chapter 81: Chapter 81: SUSAN’S AMBITION 3

"Damn! I nearly forgot about that one. Cali, what do you think I should do first? Buy land for a house or for a shop? I don’t have that much money!" Susan anxiously asked as she bit her nails, worry clouding her, especially after digesting what her friend had said.

"Money is not an issue here. I will give you the money to buy the land for both. Just take it as my blessing for your happy marriage and providing a home for your daughter and future children!" with a wave of her hand, Calista promised.

Susan looked dumbfoundedly at Calista, her eyes teary and not knowing what to say. She knew that once Calista had spoken, she barely ate her words back. Her promises were as precious as gold, and that made her feel very touched.

"Cali, you ...."

"If you want to repay me, then learn well and show me what you are capable of. You know that I am too lazy and if it was possible, I would want to just rest and lie down. Unfortunately, I don’t have a choice right now. For the better of our villagers, I am forced to cast aside my laziness for a while. If you learn well, one day, you, my friend, can manage all this. I trust you the most in the whole world right now. So don’t let me down, please!" gazing seriously at Susan, Calista expressed her expectations of Susan.

If given a chance to lie down, Calista would take it any second. She never lacked money ever since she got the koi physique, which made her luckier than others. She got money every morning and once in a while, prey would be sent to her, providing her with enough meat to eat.

Having so much given to her, she is one individual with just two baby pets, how much does she need?

However, in order to keep up the promise she gave Ba Susan, Calista now had to work hard. She wasn’t upset about it. After all, once in a while doing a bit of work would make the body fit and mind energized.

Feeling emotional as she looked at Calista, Susan said earnestly, her eyes brimming with utmost sincerity and a deep vow, "I promise you Cali, I will not let you down. Work me hard like a donkey and give it all to me. I will take it!"

"Hehe, I will do my best then. Just wait until the restaurant is finished. We can start most of the lessons then. For now, let’s prepare to leave for Silverbroke town. You will be staying there with me until I get everything I need. We can take that as our first lesson. What do you think?" rubbing her chin thoughtfully, Calista asked Susan.

Susan nodded her head hurriedly, accepting Calista’s words.

"Hehe, that’s good then. Then take this opportunity to pack your things. We might take at least three days to four, depending on what the market will be like!" Calista said, revealing more details of her trip again.

"Um, I will go home and prepare. Is there anything I need?"

"Nope. Just your clothes. I will take care of everything. And oh, if you have something to sell, bring it as well. We can’t lose a chance to make money, after all!" with a playful smile on her face, she added.

Susan broke into laughter upon hearing that and added a few more remarks as well.

The friends talked for a while before Susan excused herself, leaving Calista alone again.

"Now that she is gone, I might as well stop being lazy. I need to earn more money!" she said to herself as she removed the quilts from her body.

’What should I prepare for tomorrow, anyway?’ she pondered as she stood on her feet.

She hadn’t planned on selling any food this time around. However, after what she had said to Susan, she felt that she would be a bad teacher if she didn’t lead by example.

"Hiss ..... hisss. ..... hisss."

"Meow, meow, meow."

However, as she pondered over that, the two annoying sounds which sounded more like a battle sounded in her ears, making her snap as she looked in the direction where the hissing and meowing were coming from.

"Whitey and Blackey, stop that nonsense right now! Do you want me to ground you at home?" Calista yelled angrily as her eyes narrowed on the two small figures, one white and like a dumpling, while the other black, small and slick like a worm.

"Hiss."

"Meow."

Calista chuckled angrily upon hearing that.

"Then shake hands or kiss and make up right now. Otherwise, if I hear you fighting again, I will lock up inside the house. Or do you miss hunting for this mother? Do you want me to give you a quota?"

"Meow!"

"Hiss."

"Then make up right now and don’t make me come to you! I am not in a good mood right now!" she called once again as she looked at the two droopy kids of hers.

After saying so, Calista watched as Blackey’s flat head caressed Whitey’s chin before the small snake slithered away in a hurry. Moments later, Whitey meowed excitedly as he followed Blakey into the grass as well.

"Now that the kids shook hands, what am I cooking again?" and then she was back to pondering her issue once again.

After some quick thinking and picturing what she has at the moment, a menu was quickly formed.

"Since I will be selling those special meals in the future. Why don’t I let my customers have a taste? This way in the future, they will drop by at least once in a while," she said to herself as she made her way to the icehouse, her expression determined.

Instead of pressuring herself into what to cook, she might as well prepare one meal and shock her customers tomorrow.

Thinking of the menus she picked, what does she have at the moment?

Rice, cornmeal and flour. She has those three. Crushed corn was something that she no longer had, so she needed to restock.

So, her menu became fewer. Thinking about which to pick, in the end, her mind conquered.

"Why bother to pick when I can just do all?" just like that, a tormenting day and night awaited her because of that one remark.
