Chapter 71: Chapter 71: ASK YOUR MOTHER!
"Calista, what did you do? How dare you practice witchcraft and charm everyone? What gives you the right?" Benita yelled hysterically as she pointed her fingers at Calista, who had her hands folded while looking at Benita as if she was looking at a lunatic.
’What medicine did she take again this time?’ Calista wondered what triggered this former stepdaughter of hers to come and seek trouble when she left last time with her tail tucked between her legs.
"Don’t you dare ignore me? Tell me, what did you do? Why is my friend looking unrecognizable like that? Were you the one who sent bandits to her? What did you do, you witch?" Benita kept on shouting so loud that those who were working started lagging as they looked to where the women were.
Hearing that, Benita became very puzzled as to what this lady was talking about.
When did she meet Benita’s friend? She didn’t even know that this unruly girl had friends she was so deeply concerned with. Just what exactly was she trying to pull this time again?
Unfolding her hands as she licked her lips to moisten them, Calista looked at Benita with a mocking expression and asked, "Before you call other people such uncouth names, why don’t you tell me what this friend of yours is? And why did I bother to witchcraft this friend of yours in particular and caused her harm?" very curious to find out what the other was talking about.
Benita was flustered when she saw how calm Calista was. However, she wasn’t going to fall for this trick. She saw her friend and even fainted after seeing how bad she looked. And all she was saying was how it was Calista’s fault that she was like that.
So how could she fall for whatever trick she was planning to use now?
"You .... Don’t pretend as if you don’t know? If you don’t know, then why does she keep mentioning your name? If it wasn’t for you, that bastard wouldn’t have harmed her. It was because of you!" Benita got back her senses and began condemning Calista once again.
"What is she talking about?" Orson, who was present at the scene, couldn’t help but ask. Wondering what his wife did behind his back, which was hilarious considering how she had been in his sight in the past few days.
She didn’t have any time to do any tricks, so why was this little girl coming to cause trouble for no reason?
When Benita heard the handsome man talking, and recalling how he was Calista’s new husband, she burned with more jealousy. Why did Calista marry such a gentleman after everything she had done?
Why was he still with her, even after everything that happened? What kind of charm was she using to fool all men like that?
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. And when a person is angry, it isn’t that shocking for them to lose control.
"She would just lie if she told you. Do you know that this vixen here had been married twice before you met her? Because of her selfishness, she ditched the man who loved her so much, stole his baby, sold the baby, and came to steal my father. This wh**** is shameless. She brought her bad luck with her, killed my father and pretended to be nice. Fortunately, everyone saw her shamelessness and kicked her out. However, that bewitched village chief of your village took her in because of her charm. You are all getting used to and you just stand there marrying her. Are you not afraid of dying in your sleep?" Benita angrily scolded, telling Orson everything she knew and what her friend had told her repeatedly as she cried.
At first, she even thought that maybe Calista was framed but seeing how determined her friend was and how that bastard, the supposed first husband came to deal with her and then told her to blame Calista for being powerful and that there was nothing that he could do to go against her. Benita became convinced that what the man said was definitely true.
Otherwise, why would her friend, who didn’t have much to do with Calista, end up in such a situation? It was all Calista’s fault, and she was going to get justice for her?
Orson looking at the young girl digging a grave for herself, lit a lamp for her. Just listening to this, he finally knew why the story sounded familiar.
Wasn’t this what happening a while ago when a man tried to frame Calista but failed and left with his tail tucked between his legs?
Everyone was avoiding bringing that story again as they all knew that it didn’t make sense and yet this Benita girl just had to come back with it. And on top of that, revealing the culprit behind the fiasco. If she wasn’t digging her own grave, then what was she doing?
When Calista heard Benita’s reasoning, her eyes couldn’t help but narrow murderously as she looked at Benita with fury. She didn’t even know she had.
"You ..... it was because of you, wasn’t it?" suddenly Calista, who was silent a while ago, pointed as she walked towards Benita.
"You ... you ... what do you want to do?" stepping back in fear of being attacked, Benita fearfully asked in a stutter.
However, Calista who was fed up with this child who never listened no matter how hard she taught her, didn’t give her a chance as she covered the distance between them so fast that those who were present didn’t even see how she did it.
Orson, seeing that speed, his brows rose as he exclaimed inwardly, ’damn she is fast!’ however he didn’t get a chance to think much about it as he saw Calista vanishing with Benita in a manner of seconds.
Startled and shocked by what had just happened and why she would do that in front of so many people, suddenly a strange white mist covered the whole area. And the next thing he knew, he blacked out.
Meanwhile, in Nicosa village, Benita sat on the ground, her body trembling as her whole skirt was wet and needed no explanation of what might have happened there.
"You ... what are you?" despite being afraid, Benita still mustered the courage to ask a risky question.
Calista snapped her fingers and suddenly a transparent shield emerged from the ground, shocking not only Benita but someone whom Calista had not seen in years to the core.
"If you are curious about who I am, why don’t you ask your mother?" Calista mocked as she turned her head to look at the woman who seemed to have aged in a few seconds sinisterly.
Looking at the woman she used to share a husband with for five years, she no longer felt any affection for her. Especially after seeing how useless, she was.
"I thought that we had an agreement, Mary. You stay clear of me and I will do the same for you. Have you already forgotten about that?" Calista growled at Mary as she walked towards her, but could Mary take in all the stimulation?
She couldn’t as she fell to the ground, her skirt forming a big round on the spot.
