Chapter 65: Chapter 65: GOING TOGETHER

"Ba Grace, we won’t be returning with you today, so I am afraid that you will have to carry some of the things we will be buying back!" as soon as they were on the road, Calista said to Frank.

Frank turned his head a bit to look at Calista and asked, "Will you be staying there for a long time?"

"Something like that. I need to buy a few more things, so one day won’t be enough. So, depending on what I find today, I will inform you on whether you have to come tomorrow or not."

"Okay. We will talk more once everything is settled!" Frank said in agreement.

With everyone on the same page, the journey to Silverbroke was filled with constant laughter as Calista shared funny stories and jokes along the way.

It was quite a wonderful journey that didn’t leave anyone bored or too tired. They didn’t forget to eat some food, since Silverbroke was very far away as well.

Around noon, they finally arrived and instead of finding an inn, Frank took the couple to the usual spot where Calista and Susan usually sell their goods whenever they come to town.

As soon as the ox-cart stopped there, people started gathering.

"After waiting for a very long time, I bumped into you!"

"It’s a good thing I had things to do today."

"What delicious food are you selling today?"

Orson was in awe as he saw how these people recognized Calista and looked forward to what she had brought.

As someone who was getting addicted to her food, he understood how good her food was. So, it was reasonable and understandable that these people were acting like this upon seeing her.

"Hehe, it’s good to see some familiar faces and sorry for not being available. I had things going on at home!" Calista addressed the enthusiastic crowd skillfully as she clasped her hands together in apology.

"Hehe, what could have happened? Share with us!"

"The last time I saw her buying wedding items. Did someone in your family get married?"

"What is the good news?"

"Why do you all assume it’s good news?"

"Can’t you see that she is smiling?"

Calista, hearing the comments from the crowd, failed to stifle her laughter and laughed out loud finding some of them too hilarious.

"You guys .... Haha .... How can you be so sweet?" she teared up as she clutched her stomach, enjoying herself.

Seeing Calista misbehaving in public, Orson could only walk to her and hold her waist to restrain her. However, his innocent move became the spark that ignited a great topic, which caused a huge flame in Silverbroke that day.

"This .... Who is this gentleman?"

"He is very good-looking!"

"I have never seen him before. Where could he come from?"

"He can’t be ...."

"Maybe ....."

After wiping the tears from her face, Calista straightened herself, looking at the group of curious customers who surrounded her.

"I know you are curious. But how about I tell you what’s happening when you are buying?" she suggested mischievously as she looked at the crowd.

"You .... You are doing it again!"

"Haha, but I love it. Your stories are always nice. I will stand in line and buy!"

Just like that, Calista shifted the topic back to what she was selling and after a few more preparations, her food stall was opened.

"Today we have ...." She began to introduce the food she had prepared to the customers, making them salivate as the delicious aroma overwhelmed them.

With the food introduced to them, it didn’t take long before they were ordering and one good thing about Calista’s customers; they weren’t stingy and were willing to pay.

And Orson receiving the money couldn’t help but praise his wife’s ability to make people in such backward places willingly take out so much money to buy food.

"Since everyone is very enthusiastic today, I will share with you the good news. You are my loyal customers who always support me, even when I appear twice a month. However, I want you all to know that it is because of you that I am here today. Thank you very much for always supporting me and never getting tired of what I have to offer!" she sincerely thanked the customers.

She loved cooking, however, she hated being on the ox-cart a lot. And due to that, she didn’t travel to Silverbroke that frequently. At times, it was twice or four times a month. So, her customers were always forced to tolerate her unexpected appearances all these years.

If it wasn’t for them, it would be very hard for her to explain her source of funds and what she was living on. After all, she couldn’t tell everyone that she had a koi physique, which gave her money every day. Wouldn’t she be called a demon and get burned?

If she didn’t get that, some powerful people might take her in to make use of her. That wasn’t what she signed for!

So having side hustles like these was quite helpful. So, sharing good news with them wouldn’t be anything difficult.

So, without further ado, she finally got to the point and announced, "This is Orson, my husband. I was busy getting married," shocking her customers to the fullest.

"You ..... you really got married?"

"Ouw, my goddess! Why didn’t you invite us?"

"You should have told us. We would have prepared some gifts.!"

"Alas, this is good news."

"He is quite good looking and you match well."

"Congratulations!"

The spot they were at suddenly became crowded, as the majority of people congratulated Calista on her marriage. The more she heard the compliments, the brighter her face became.

Orson, on the other hand, had to suffer the scrutiny from the elderly ladies who were both happy and concerned about Calista.

As Calista wasn’t a mediocre figure but someone quite famous for her past deeds, which made him feel discomfort a bit since he didn’t like the fact that she was once married to someone else who wasn’t him. It was quite common for people to be concerned.

Fortunately, the people here were more understanding and welcoming than the villagers back home.
