Chapter 59: GOING OUT TOGETHER
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: GOING OUT TOGETHER
That day, Calista returned home not only with clothes but with money and other things as well.
Susan had to help her carry the goods up the hill and Orson, seeing that Calista had brought more than what she had descended with, tagged along as well to help.
With the three of them working together, everything was taken up the hill.
Before Susan left, Calista gave her friend a chunk of beef before sending her away.
Orson looked at the things that Calista had brought and began to wonder what was going on with her.
"Where did you get this?" he asked, dumbfoundedly.
Calista, who he guessed left with dirty clothes and food, returned home with fish, eggs, dried vegetables, fruits, dried corn and nuts. Can anyone tell him where she got these from when she was just going to the river?
"Hehe, am I not awesome? After doing laundry, I did some little fishing. I got all these from barter trading!" with a boasting expression on her face which sought praise, Calista explained her endeavors to her husband.
Upon hearing that, Orson looked at Calista astonishingly and praised wholeheartedly, "Wifey is the best! I guess I will be relying more on you in the future!" sincerely meaning every word.
Where had he come across such a hard-working woman who always surprised him all the time? Just how many fish did she trade to bring all of that to him?
He had heard about her fishing prowess, but to witness it personally; he felt that the man who reported to him didn’t do a good job at it.
With Calista by his side, this would become his greatest vacation of all time.
Calista was happy hearing Orson’s flattery. "Um, I promised you before that as long as you follow me, I will not make you hungry. Just believe me!" patting her bountiful chest smilingly.
Orson licked his lips as he saw those mountains hidden in the brown clothes shaking a bit. His body heated up and his gaze on her deepened. However, he restrained himself. It wasn’t the right time to play naughty.
"I will put my faith in you, then. What do you need help with?" he asked eagerly.
The quicker and sooner Calista was finished with her work, the faster he could get what he wanted.
Calista, unaware of what her husband was planning for her, began to issue commands. And with the two of them working together, everything was stored in the right places. After doing so, Orson gave Calista the pheasant he hunted, and she was happy to get it.
After an hour, when Calista had washed and changed into another black outfit, she started preparing for dinner. At this time, Orson had finished hanging the wet clothes.
"Hubby, in a few days, I want to go to Silverbroke. Do you want to go with me?"
Orson’s ears perked up when he heard that. He had been here for a while, but he had never ventured far.
"You really want to bring me?"
"Um. You can’t always remain at home. I am not raising a canary though. I would love having one, hehe!" she said playfully as she looked at Orson, who was defeathering the pheasant.
Raising his head to face his playful wife, he said with the corner of his mouth raised, "It wouldn’t be a bad thing to be a canary, though!"
"Hehe, unfortunately, I will not be raising one. So, do you want to go?"
"Um, I want to go. I want to see around and see what this place has to offer!" he responded, agreeing to her invitation.
Calista smiled brightly at hearing that. "That’s good then. We have a lot to buy there, and having you with me would be helpful!"
"Then I will be honored!"
With Orson tagging along the next time, she visits Silverbroke town, Calista is in a good mood.
The two of them worked together pretty well and prepared dinner. That night they ate rice with fish and as for the pheasant, it joined the others in the icehouse.
Calista was planning on cooking the rabbits and pheasants for her trip to town. She would sell them to her loyal customers she didn’t get to satisfy all the time.

The next day, after breakfast, Calista brought Orson down the hill. It was also another first time for him to go anywhere with her and knowing that he was going to the village; he dressed up handsomely.
And with the scar gone overnight, he was confident with his full looks that he would be causing a lot of heart attacks.
On their way down the hill, Whitey tagged along and Calista, being the kitten’s mother, hugged the kitten to her bosom.
Watching as this intelligent and suspicious beast rubbed its small head against that chest, he was very fond of, Orson felt sour.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t make a move on Whitey. Who knows what he would provoke by doing so?
So, he pretended as if wasn’t seeing anything and continued to entertain Calista with his hunting adventures.
Listening to her laughing heartily, looking very vibrant, Orson thought that it was worth it.
However, as they walked, enjoying their lovely moments, it was inevitable for them to not bump into villagers.
It was also the first time that he was meeting other villagers who were not the village chief’s family. So, he was looking forward to it, or should he say, looking forward to Calista’s actions?
"Good morning, Calista!"
"Morning, granny. Are you going to the gardens?"
"Yes, and you?"
"Oh, I have something to talk to the village chief!"
"Okay. You walk in peace!"
"Sure, thank you and you too!"
"I will, thank you. And who is this lad?"
Upon getting the question, Calista’s smile widened and her eyes were squinting, and the old lady, seeing that, couldn’t help but be infected with the smile as well.
’Could he be the legendary, mysterious husband?’
"Granny, this is my husband, Orson. I recently got remarried!" Calista introduced her husband with pride on her face.
By now, a few more people were already on the road, so they heard Calista’s words.
