Chapter 324: Chapter 317: THOMAS FAMILY’S ENDING
Calista woke up feeling groggy in the morning and looked around to check where she was.
After leaving the Thomas manor, her memories were a bit blurry. If she wasn’t mistaken, she was supposed to go back home and reunite with her kids. If that had happened, she would have seen at least a familiar room and two court beds with her babies in it.
However, as she looked around, she was welcomed by the familiar wooden walls, which were very different from her manor’s. Looking at the furniture and the size of the room, she concluded what was happening. She somehow returned to the inn and as for how, that was going to be a mystery waiting to be solved.
Blacky had fallen into a normal slumber. He had used his mental energy so much that it would be unbelievable if he remained conscious after all that.
Knowing that she was still in the inn, she quickly accepted that and woke up to prepare.
The Thomas family ending was clear-cut. They wouldn’t be able to escape the authorities at all. Whatever sentence they are given, the grievances of many would be addressed.
She packed her belongings after washing up and left the room. At the counter, she checked out and received her change from the deposit she made.
After that, she went to the restaurant for a hot breakfast.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. It’s a pity.!’
"It looked very gruesome. I can’t believe that they ended up like that."
As she went to the table, Calista couldn’t help but overhear the people talking and their topic seemed to revolve around the Thomas family.
Did anything happen after she was gone?
It couldn’t be that she did something after leaving that place. She couldn’t be connected to whatever happened to them, right?
After all, her memory was a bit fuzzy.
Interested in the issue and curious to find out if she had done anything to anyone, once the waiter came to take her order, she took out a silver coin and gave it to him.
"Patron, if there is anything that you want to know. Please just ask. I will tell you as much as I can," the waiter generously said as he tucked the silver coin away with a smile on his face.
Money always talks and helps all the time.
"What is everyone talking about?" she asked curiously, without going around in circles.
The waiter, upon hearing that question, beamed like a light bulb. He had been answering this question for a while now, so was very proficient with the details. And since the patron was very generous, he was generous with his information as well.
And when Calista heard about what happened, she was in a state of shock. She couldn’t believe what her ears had heard at all.
She lost her appetite and didn’t bother to eat at the restaurant anymore.
She left the inn, hired a carriage and sped off to the Thomas’s manor to take a look. When she got there, there were soldiers guarding the place and the stench of blood was in the air.
She could tell and smell that a massacre took place there. She closed her eyes as she took a deep breath and when she opened her eyes; they looked golden. She had activated her spiritual eyes. Something that she doesn’t do often. It drains one’s spiritual energy a lot. She didn’t like using it at all, but for the sake of getting answers and knowing what happened; she didn’t have a choice but to use it.
Only that way could she understand what happened.
And when she took a peek at what was inside, she had goosebumps all over her body as disbelief, shock and all sorts of emotions ran rampant in her.
Who massacred the whole family so ruthlessly like that?
Everyone was dead. From the masters to the lowly slaves, everyone was gone. There were dead bodies strewn all over the manor. It was a replica of a horror movie she once saw in one of the worlds she transmigrated to.
It looked very gore as if some evil spirit had passed through the place and had a feast. This kind of ruthlessness wasn’t something that a normal human being could do.
Even Whitey and Blackey weren’t capable of leaving such damage.
Calista had to rush to the Tulip Tower to get more information and when she got there, Nayeli seemed to be waiting for her. And the news was terrifying.
"Who did it?" she asked nervously, despite knowing that she wasn’t the culprit and the murderer who slaughtered the whole family.
She didn’t sense her spiritual energy anywhere on the deceased. If she had done anything, there might be something, but since it wasn’t, then she was safe.
Besides, even if she was delusional and not in the right state, she wouldn’t do anything that would attract such bad karma for herself or her children. Besides, why take such a risk when the family is going to be punished?
Moreover, she would dare touch the innocent. She was aiming for the mother, especially followed by the kids, but what did the slaves do to deserve such inhuman killing?
And when Nayeli gave her an update, Calista was feared with fear.
"We aren’t sure what exactly happened, but our night guards reported earlier that somewhere around midnight, they heard screams, though a bit muffled. Curious about what was happening and eager to get some first-hand information, they went over to check but didn’t dare expose themselves.
Although they might be powerful, they aren’t omnipotent. One strike and they are dead. That would be a loss to the organization and themselves. When they got there, they ..."
When the guard got there, they were scared of taking a closer look as the screams were too much for them to handle despite being muffled. They managed to see what was important, and that was the murderer.
The person who killed everyone in the manor was none other than the old lady herself.
How was that possible?
