Calista plastered a smile on her face as she took steps towards the old lady, her appearance looking daunting to the other.

"Old lady, if we didn’t have a grudge before, I might have liked you. Unfortunately, we weren’t meant to be!" she said sighingly as she stopped in front of the old lady and just next to Bertha, who looked like a funny animation from where she stood.

"Mmm ...... mmm!"

Calista shook her head with a pitiful expression on her face upon hearing the muffles and said, "Don’t waste your energy. I will do the talking and you just listen for now," not putting the other in her face at all.

The old lady was so angry that her face turned red. She looked as if she was on fire, so red like a metal put in a hot fire. If she were a train, she would be emitting smoke right now, and that made everything funny and worthwhile.

"Before I leave, I wanted to tell you what sins you have committed. I wanted you to know and understand why I am doing this to you.

I am not sure if you will survive or die in the end, but what I know is that I don’t want to regret it. Whatever outcome comes your way, I want you to know the reason why we are here in the first place," Calista said softly to the old lady as she looked at her with a gentle expression.

With the majority of her hatred sucked out of her earlier, she no longer hated the old lady that much, to be honest.

Just like how she accepted the fact that Orson did everything for a reason. The old lady did it for a reason as well. To protect her children and herself, she shed blood even if it meant killing the innocents. Of course, there was some selfishness there, but who didn’t have it?

It was just that, just like how the old lady did it for herself and her family, she was also doing this for selfish reasons. It was just and very fair.

The old lady looked at Calista with a complicated expression, to be honest. She just didn’t understand what kind of hatred was there between them for Calista to treat her family like that. Couldn’t all problems be solved with money if possible?

She didn’t want to die, but this person wanted her to suffer. Perhaps by knowing what was happening, she might find a way to solve this matter once and for all. Thus, she didn’t make a fuss once Calista said that.

Calista was satisfied with the old lady’s cooperation. She didn’t have time to play games with anyone, so having the old lady cooperate without making a fuss saved her a great deal of time.

Calista didn’t want the old lady to suffer whatever ending she was going to face without understanding the root of the matter, so she kindly shared it with the other. When the old lady heard the story, she was in disbelief and then fear overwhelmed her.

She couldn’t believe that a ghost was standing in front of her. No wonder why she could do all those things. If she had known that ghosts could come back to life, she would have suppressed any spirits of the dead back then. That way, they wouldn’t get a chance to attack her. But she didn’t do so and now she was facing the consequences.

Seeing the regretful expression on the old lady’s face, Calista knew that the old lady wasn’t thinking about anything good and it angered her greatly. Instead of showing remorse, guilt, or being apologetic, she dared to show such strong emotions. How could she be so heartless like that?

Before coming here, Calista planned to ease the old lady’s troubles since she was going to face a bad ending considering what Nayeli had told her. However, now she no longer cared. She would let her writhe in pain and suffering. Maybe that way she would show some emotion, the kind that would comfort the wronged souls.

Since she was no longer easing the old lady’s pain, Calista had no reason to remain at the manor, but before she left, she couldn’t help but share one piece of good news with the old lady.

"By the way, I want you to know that your family will be falling this week. Your good deeds had made the royal guards take action. It won’t be a good ending for you!" she happily shared the news with a smile on her face, but the one listening didn’t look good at all.

How could she when such a bomb had been dropped on her?

Calista, after sharing such a daunting piece of news, didn’t bother with the old lady at all and left the room while humming a happy tune.

As for the old lady’s children, she didn’t bother to mess with them. After all, from day one, the person she warned was the old lady. As for her bundles of joy, they would be messed up by her. So, why bother?

As soon as Calista left, time unfroze and Lady Thomas was quick to adjust her emotions. She didn’t want her children to worry. They weren’t any match for Calista. She would find means of stopping this mess from happening at all costs.

However, just as she thought that everything was going to be fine, time froze once again, and she panicked.

Her eyes bulged as she looked towards the door, cussing Calista for playing with her like a fool. Didn’t she taunt her already? Why was she coming back again?

The old lady was so frustrated, but she couldn’t do anything.

However, the person she thought she would see wasn’t the one who walked through the doors. Instead, a mass of black cloud floated into the room, and Lady Thomas emptied her bowls in fear.

That was a ghost. A real one and not the person she was talking to. How could she not be afraid?

Tears were streaming down her cheeks and she wanted to cry out, plead for forgiveness or something. But her throat seemed to be blogged by something and she couldn’t even muffle.

She fearfully watched as this ghost stopped a short distance from her.

’What does it want from me? Is it here to kill me?’ Lady Thomas felt fear, real fear for the first time, and she didn’t know what to do.
