Chapter 313: Chapter 306: THE TRUTH BACK THEN 6
As someone who strongly believed in that, she had tolerated those shrewish villagers for years without taking any action. She didn’t want to be forced into doing what she didn’t want to do.
The only people she had killed ever since she was reborn were those traffickers who abducted Hayes. After that, she tried her best to solve problems as much as possible.
However, coming face to face with these people, her rationality seemed to fly away. After seeing what happened to her mother, she got so irked that she wanted to vent out all her frustrations and it so happened that Orson arrived.
Before seeing Orson’s arrival, she had gotten into a huge argument with Bertha. She stopped by the Thomas manor to check on the old lady. And when the old lady saw her, she was triggered and started reacting.
When Bertha and her brothers saw that, they accused her without any evidence and she was so angry that she retorted back. She won the argument and even made those siblings feel sorry for her, but that didn’t settle her heart at all.
As a result, she didn’t even wait for Orson to investigate on his own and took matters into her own hands.
Listening to him talking about her kids and not their kids, she wanted to rip his head off but the angel side of hers stopped the evil counterpart.
’You must not kill. Listen to him, his words make sense.’
’But can you listen to what he is saying? Those are our children. Even if we have issues, he can’t just throw away his kids like that.’
’But isn’t this better? The kids will be solely yours. You don’t need to worry about him appearing in the future, claiming them or talking nonsense.’
’How can that be done?’
’He said it himself. Make him forget!’
’Ha, make him forget? I won’t do such a thing. I want him to feel so much pain every single day if I can’t kill him. I will live the rest of my life with such information that the man who killed me is the man I fell for and the father of my children. How can that happen?’
’Then maybe you forget and let those around you forget about him?’
Now that sounds tempting, but she didn’t want to do so. Nonetheless, the conversation was working, as the cloud looming over her head was dissipating slowly and Orson was feeling relieved with each passing second.
Calista looked at Orson with a much calmer expression, the darkness looming over her no longer suffocating, and asked, "If I let you go today. Will you promise to never set foot on this continent ever again? I don’t even want to see crossing the sea and coming over this side. I don’t want you coming this side to check what I and the kids are doing. The kids are mine and will always remain mine. Can you promise me that?"
For the sake of her kids, she was willing to compromise. If she didn’t have them, she wouldn’t feel any pity if Blackey swallowed them as a meal.
It hurt. It truly hurt. His heart was hurting as if someone was squishing it tightly. It was shattering like a fragile piece of glass. He felt suffocated, but couldn’t show it.
Her words were painful, but that was the greatest mercy that she could ever show. He knew it, but he didn’t want to agree to her terms at all.
How could he live there knowing that he had a family on the other side of the sea but was unable to see them?
How could she be so cruel like that?
However, he could only think like that in his heart and not say it out loud.
"Are you going to answer or should I disregard my children’s karma and deal with it?" Calista asked with a dissatisfied frown upon seeing how Orson was taking his time.
Orson, seeing her impatience, took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
His eyelashes were fluttering and Calista even saw a single tear dripping from his eyes and falling on his cheek, but she didn’t care.
His pain would never be the same as hers. She was showing mercy.
Apart from her children, she thought about her foster mother. She managed to forgive her even after taking her away from her biological mother and making her a slave. If she could forgive her, then why not forgive Orson?
As long as he didn’t come her way, she would not bother with him. If he does, then even if she doesn’t gather good karma for her kids, she will kill each fly that comes her way until there is nothing left.
So, what if things get bad for her?
She would shed blood if she was forced to.
"I agree!" the response that she was waiting for finally came and she didn’t feel good at all.
Calista exhaled a turbid breath as she closed and opened her eyes, just to make sure that everything was real.
Seeing those two still tied up to the tree, she felt tired. If she continued being in Orson’s presence, she was truly afraid that she would end up killing someone.
She knew that her feelings and thoughts were contradictory, but it still hurt.
No longer willing to make herself suffer, she turned around, letting out a dejected sigh, thinking to herself how nice it would be to forget that he ever existed.
Maybe that way, it would be much easier, but she didn’t have such medicine. If she had known that she would find herself in a situation like that, she would have used some points to buy such medicine. Unfortunately, she didn’t foresee it.
Calista dragged her feet, leaving the two men tied to the tree. If they wanted to save themselves, then they should untie themselves. If they die there, that was on them and not on her.
Blackey was nestling on her wrist and sensing her mood, he licked her wrist, making her smile reassuringly at him as she patted his small head.
He had overworked himself by making the three of them experience her past. That was why Blackey couldn’t be seen. Of course, she didn’t bother to tell the two men.
What if they managed to break away from the ropes and attack her?
