Chapter 311: Chapter 304: THE TRUTH BACK THEN 4

The voice responded, but the contents were only heard by the spirit and her eyes were filled with confusion before lighting up.

Whatever she had been told, it should be good news. Once the deal was made, the spirit disappeared from the grave.

And time lapsed to a few days later. The spirit appeared once again, but this time; she was in human form.

She looked much better than she was before her death. She looked pretty and vibrant, and she called herself Calista Solace.

The young Calista, upon rebirth, visited the manor where her life was hell before her death but didn’t go in.

She looked at the manor with a different expression for a long time before she burst into cheerful laughter and said, "I won’t stain my hands with your blood. Karma is a bitch. One day, you will get your retribution for all the innocent souls you killed. Let us just hope that it won’t be me!"

After saying that, she left as for where she went, that wasn’t seen.

Orson and Shadow were at a loss for words when they found themselves back to reality.

Their clothes by this time were drenched, and their hearts were thumping like those big drums. It was too unsettling for them at that moment.

They finally witnessed and experienced what Calista had said to them earlier; letting them experience what truly happened, and they surely did.

Both master and servant looked at each other and didn’t know how to face Calista.

Who would have known that the truth was like that?

"Are you shocked by the truth?" Calista’s voice rang once again and the two of them both looked in the direction where it came from and they saw her sitting on a stone fanning herself.

Orson’s feelings were complicated at that moment. After seeing the truth, he knew that he was to blame. He didn’t even have an excuse to defend himself.

The woman who had made him feel so many complicated emotions, he took part in killing her. He made her suffer a death that wasn’t fair and an excruciating one. She died unfairly. He could only guess how painful it must have been when she was buried alive.

He finally understood why she didn’t treat the slaves as slaves but rather as servants or workers. He understood why she had a soft spot for kids, why she desperately wanted to be married, even if it meant having her name tarnished.

Everything was falling into place, but it was too late for him to understand her.

His appearance had made her recall those memories she had buried deep down in her heart. To think that they were this ill-fated, Orson didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at his situation.

He couldn’t even find a word to say to her. He could only look at her apologetically.

Calista, upon seeing his reaction, wasn’t so surprised anymore. She was even shocked when she guessed that Orson was somehow involved in her death. She didn’t want to accept it. The man she loved like crazy did that to her. How could she be sane and pretend that everything was fine?

She could only go crazy, and here they are.

"I was shocked as well. I didn’t want to believe it. If I knew it, I wouldn’t have given my heart to you!" Calista ruthlessly and directly expressed her opinion as she stood up from the stool and Orson felt his heart crumbling down.

That was the first time that she said such words to him. Although their relationship had been shaky for a very long time, it never reached that point. Even when she tied him up, she didn’t say such words. She was even calling him dear and darling a while ago and yet now she was telling him about her regrets.

That very second, Orson knew that he had lost her.

"It was so unfair for me to die like that, but I accepted that. That was my unfortunate fate as a slave. I also accepted the fact that if I were in your shoes, I would have made the same decision and gotten rid of the trouble from the roots.

I accepted that kind of fate and labeled myself as unlucky. I got my chance to relive my life as to what happened. That’s none of your business," Calista narrated and didn’t bother to mention the part about her transmigrations.

Back then, when she made a deal with that voice, she agreed to travel to one hundred worlds and do missions. Missions differed, and in every lifetime, she didn’t live until the age of fifty. Her job was to help certain characters or people and pave their way to greatness.

Thanks to those missions, she saw new sides of the world she didn’t know existed. Some so many people were more unfortunate than her. The more she came across such people, the more her resentment towards the people who wronged her diminished.

She accepted her fate and felt no need to taint her hands with blood. If she sheds too much blood, what if that affects her future generations?

She wanted to get married, have a lot of babies and live a happy and fulfilling life.

That voice told her that because her heart was pure and she hadn’t done any wrong, she was given that chance. So, she didn’t dare mess things up.

That’s why when she finished her missions and passed beautifully with a passing rate of over eighty percent, she didn’t bother to take any revenge.

As long as they didn’t interfere in her life whatsoever, she wouldn’t even think about them.

By seeking revenge, she would waste the precious time she should have spent on finding love or being happy. So, she moved very far away from the city where she grew up and settled down in that village because of her deceased first husband.

But who would have known that the man she picked and fell for the second time, thinking to herself that her love had been reborn and she had found love in one lifetime, ended up being the man responsible for her death in the first place?

How was she supposed to react in such a situation?

Pretend that it didn’t happen and just take it as it is! She tried, but it failed and now there was in this situation.

Her feelings were complicated as she looked at Orson, but she wanted him to know everything.
