Chapter 305: Chapter 305: THE TRUTH BACK THEN 5
"I went as far as to live there just to avoid remembering that I was once someone like that but I didn’t think that we were so fated like that.
I didn’t want to believe it. I wanted it to be untrue. We might have our differences and doesn’t get along. I could accept that but for you to become my murderer, tche," she shook her head with a scoff and continued, "I can’t accept that, Orson."
"Cali_"
"You don’t have to say anything. Just listen. Let me vent out!" Calista cut his words as she raised her hand, her fan pointed at hm and he went silent.
’Such a coward!’ she mocked inwardly upon seeing his fear.
"Although I am grateful for that death back then since it gave me a new life in exchange, it doesn’t mean that I forgot and it won’t hurt.
I don’t want to live the rest of my life resenting you. When I get angry Orson, I can do anything. I don’t want to wake up one day with blood all over the house, after stabbing your dear children. I don’t want to find myself filled with resentment and carrying a ghoul simply because of you.
Your love for me is fickle. You are not firm with what you want and easily sway.
Maybe if you had loved me sincerely and was so determined to be with me, maybe I would have tried to push this away and hypnotize myself that it wasn’t true. But ask yourself what did you do?"
Orson was so ashamed he couldn’t even answer that. he kept his silence.
Calista scoffed when she saw that and continued, "that is why today, you two must lose your lives. We can’t live under the same sky without one of us feeling worried about the other," she said regretfully with a sigh.
She didn’t want to shed any blood honestly. When she saw the pain on their faces when experiencing that illusion, she felt like she had punished them greatly. However, when she thought about Orson’s identity and how she might risk the people she loves by letting them go, she didn’t see any choice remaining.
As long as they are dead, she didn’t need to worry about them. Of course, she forgot that there was another group which had left earlier, and as long as Orson doesn’t return, they knew where to find her. all she could think about that moment was doing what was necessary to protect those innocent people from harm.
Whilst she could change places and raise her children in seclusion, the villagers who had stood by her, wouldn’t they be harmed if Orson comes after her?
Upon hearing that, Orson this time didn’t dare play mute but opened his mouth to negotiate, "Calista, we can talk about this! There is really no need to kill us, is there?"
Calista nodded her head, her gaze determined and said, "there is every reason to see you dead, Orson. If I let you go, what if you come after me since I know about you. What if you put my life, the kids and everyone I care for in danger? We can’t live under the same sky, never!" her tone leaving no room for a change of heart.
Orson struggled as he tried to get rid of the ropes but they were too difficult to deal with. Calista cast an indifferent gaze to his attempts. Watching him struggle like that, she couldn’t help but enjoy the scene as she recalled how much she struggled when those mammies tied her up.
It felt good seeing him so helpless like that.
The more she watched, the more sinister she became.
"Calista, if not for me, then the kids. Do you really want to take me from the girls, and our twins?" Orson seeing that kind of gaze on her knew that it was getting bad.
He didn’t know what came over but she was looking dark the more he looked at her and he wanted to snap her out of that darkness.
"Do you really want to shed blood with your hands and create a bad karma cycle for your kids? I have shed a lot of blood already and I am suffering enough. Do you really want to have that for your kids?" Orson shouted at her, his eyes red and his heart feeling as if it was pricked by needles, every time he called their kids, hers.
He knew that by doing so, he would be pushing her away from him as in her heart and mind, she would think that he didn’t care about their kids at all. he also knew that he was a bit negligent about the twins and was more tolerant of the girls, and that affected her deeply.
But he didn’t have any other method to wake her up.
In that illusion he had seen her dream. A family and a lot of people who cared for her.
When she got a chance and ability to avenge herself, she didn’t do it but opted to live a good life. She said that she wanted to create a good karma for her children, and that knowledge was coming to use.
He didn’t want to die, and on top of it, he didn’t want her to regret after the deed was done. In the future when the kids learnt that she was the one who killed him even if they didn’t like him, what would happen to her?
If he dies here, his brother-in-law would bring the whole brigands over and blood would be shed. He didn’t want to see that.
Besides, he could see that something didn’t seem right with her and surely, he was spot on.
Every single person has an inner demon. Just because it doesn’t show doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.
"If you want to deal with me, then just let me go. Or make me forget about you ....."
Calista was in the middle of fighting her inner demon. She truly wanted Orson gone and that was a fact. Without him, she wouldn’t have any problems but then he brought out the good karma point and she was shaken.
