’Where am I? What happened? Am I dead?’

These were the questions she was asking herself as she looked around the dimly lit place, she found herself in.

She recalled how she was crawling out of that doghole, but ended up finding someone in front of her. When she thought of retreating ... just thinking about it, the woman shuddered with fear and her back got drenched in sweat.

What was that enormous thing she bumped into?

Was that thing even real? And how did that thing even manage to get into the manor without being detected? The more she thought about it, the more scared she became.

"Creak," the door suddenly creaked open when she was in the middle of having such thoughts.

"Ah~~~~" she screamed fearfully and fell down making a thud sound in the process, scaring herself even further as her eyes fearfully looked in the direction of the opened door.

She didn’t know what or who was going to enter that door. Was it the deity, or was it a human being?

However, the pain she felt when she fell suddenly made her think that she might still be very much alive and that thought scared her into wetting herself.

"Tsk. Tsk, tsk. What a scaredy cat!" a female sarcastic voice sounded in the room and the woman scrambled backwards or rather groveled, using her tied hands towards the wall, which was a big mistake.

"Please, don’t kill me! I will give you anything. Just spare me!" seeing that she had hit the wall and had nowhere to go, the woman started pleading tearfully, sort and tears streaming down her cheeks despite not seeing the person who was doing all that to her.

"Oh~ is that it? If I tell you to sell your masters for your life, will you do it?" the female voice rang again, and it sent chills down her spine.

The woman at that moment didn’t care about anything. As long as she could leave here alive, who cared about selling others?

She would rather face the consequences of doing so than face the ghost of that child. She feared for her life.

"I will tell you what you want. Just don’t _" She readily agreed and gave in, her voice trembling and filled with pleading.

Creak.

At that moment, the door opened further and a huge dark slithery figure appeared through the door and the woman was frozen and stiffened.

She remembered that thing. It was the thing that made her faint earlier. What was it doing here again?

The woman wanted to cry, but the tears didn’t seem to be there. She could only sniff and hiccup as she prayed earnestly that the figure wouldn’t be anything scary.

But the deities weren’t listening to her as at that moment the identity of the shadowy figure finally got revealed.

"Oh, my goddess! W-what is that?" she exclaimed fearfully as she looked at the monstrous snake head which had just slithered into the room.

It was so huge, very black and those eyes were sparkling as if they were gems. The way that snake flickered its tongue, the woman shuddered at the thought of being swallowed whole by it.

How was it even possible for people to have such kinds of snakes? Or was that an illusion? The more she thought about it, the sullener she became.

Even if she wanted to cry and plead for her life in front of this snake, it was impossible. She didn’t have anywhere to go. She was tied up and stuck against the wall. The only door was where that snake’s head was. How would she run away?

Besides, since that person was able to find her in the manor, it means that she was ready and well-prepared.

Whatever fate awaited her right now, her ending wouldn’t be good. She might as well just accept the fate in front of her. Maybe a miracle would happen.

After sorting out her thoughts, she calmed down and accepted her fate.

Calista watching that couldn’t help but applaud the old lady. No wonder why she was able to survive and outlive some of the good servants the Thomas family had ever had in the past decades.

She was someone who adapted quickly and flowed with the current. If it was, she who had seen Blackey’s head, she would be long dead with fright.

When she entered that world, she came at the wrong time. She appeared at a time when a strong martial artist was battling a huge elephant which looked more like a mammoth, the kind that went extinct millennia ago. There were no such things in any normal world she had transmigrated to.

With everything taken care of, Calista boldly stepped into the room and appeared in front of the old lady, whose eyes nearly dropped to the ground after seeing her.

She had managed to maintain calmness after facing just the head of Blackey and yet after seeing her; she crumbled.

"Hehe, long time no see, elder!" Calista teasingly greeted, a sly smirk on her face as she crouched a distance away from the old lady.

She had urinated on herself. There was no way she would talk to the other while inhaling such. She didn’t come here to kill herself.
