Chapter 286: Chapter 286: HER ANGER

Bertha felt more confused when she heard that. Unfortunately for her, her mother didn’t bother to explain but simply sent her off after instructing her to continue befriending Calista but not reveal anything.

It wasn’t the first time she had done something like that, so she agreed. She wouldn’t expose herself, so she was at ease.

However, on her way home, she couldn’t help but continue to be bothered. It was frustrating.

Meanwhile, on Calista’s side, she gave the coachman a tip when she was dropped off at the inn. After that, she entered the inn, changed her clothes and came out.

She didn’t plan to walk at all. It was getting late, so she hired a carriage from the inn to go to the Tulip Towers.

With the carriage, the time was shortened, so she got there faster than last time.

As soon as she arrived, she was welcomed by an enthusiastic staff who took her upstairs where Nayeli was waiting for her.

When she met Nayeli, the other looked beautiful, as always.

"It’s good to see you. I didn’t think that you would be coming today, with how busy you were!" Nayeli teasingly said as she poured tea for Calista.

Calista’s lips raised upon hearing that. "I nearly thought so as well. Thankfully, I still found time."

"That’s good. For a moment there, I nearly thought that the business deal was going to fall under. It would be bad for business if the target suddenly becomes all friends with the mission giver."

Calista didn’t need a translator to understand what Nayeli was saying.

"Don’t worry. Business is still on. I am the kind of person who loves seeing the people I hate getting destroyed with my own eyes rather than hearsay!" she responded with a chilly voice, which sent shivers down Nayeli’s spine.

Nayeli smiled wryly upon hearing that and wondered for the umpteenth time what that family did to her for her to carry such animosity towards them like that.

Calista didn’t care how Nayeli perceived her. They were just business partners, and if she overstepped her boundaries, then they would be enemies. It was as simple as that.

After going in circles about what they wanted, Nayeli gave Calista what she wanted. Calista opened the folder and started reading earnestly. The more she read, the more her expression became scary. Nayeli regretted remaining in the room with Calista as the heaviness in the room was too dense for her.

Thankfully, it wasn’t long before Calista was done reading. However, her back was drenched in sweat shortly after as she witnessed something terrifying. She didn’t expect to see in such a small kingdom like this.

Calista burned the papers. She suddenly ignited the fire in a fit of anger and by the time she recalled that there was someone else inside the room, the papers had turned to ashes.

She looked sinisterly at Nayeli who was sweating bucket and swallowing dryly, her gaze piercing and threatening.

When Nayeli saw that, she knew that she needed to act very fast before the other did, so she hurriedly and urgently vowed, "Lady Solace, I swear that whatever happened here today shall not be known by anyone. If it does, may the deity of wealthy and life curse me!" her tone was very earnest.

When Calista heard that, she withdrew her aura and felt Blackey cooling around her wrist as well.

"Since you have made such an oath, then I won’t do anything to you. Don’t be curious about things that you shouldn’t," Calista smilingly said as she rose to her feet and Nayeli nodded her head like a chicken pecking on rice.

"Remember to start spreading the information starting tomorrow. I don’t care how you do it but make it destructive. If possible, kindly send some of that evidence to the law enforcement. We can’t have such cancer running rampant while causing pain to the people," Calista didn’t forget to instruct with a kind smile on her face.

After reading the information about the Thomas family, she wished desperately to just erase them from the face of the planet, but that would be too lenient. She wanted them to suffer the scorn of the people and make them experience a life worse than death.

There were many families like them, but since they offended her, she was going to deal with them alone. As for others, it would be better if they remain low. Besides, as long as they didn’t offend her, she wouldn’t be bothered with them.

"I will start working on that. Trust us!" Nayeli flatteringly vowed.

This was someone she couldn’t provoke, but wanted to befriend. If she could ignite fire from nowhere, who knows what kind of magic she knows?

Such a person should be a friend. She was willing to suppress her fear for the moment and get as many benefits as she wanted.

Calista didn’t care about Nayeli’s thoughts. She had paid for the services and she expected to get what she paid for. Of course, if Nayeli dared to play her, then she would make her regret ever meeting her.

After getting what she wanted, she left the office but then she heard Blackey hissing and when she listened to what he was saying, her expression turned murderous, scaring Nayeli, who was about to send Calista off.

’Who offended this ancestor, now?’ she wanted to cry as she stood behind Calista.

However, she got that answer shortly as Calista turned around suddenly and instructed angrily, "Start it tonight! They dare!"

Unfortunately, she couldn’t ask what they did, but she knew who angered Calista. She could only pray for them this time. Who made them offend such a fiery person?

Nayeli didn’t send Calista off but called for her people and started a meeting which lasted for a very long time.

Meanwhile, Calista didn’t hurriedly leave the tower but went upstairs, where she purchased a few jewelry pieces before leaving.

On the ground floor, she smiled sinisterly as she looked at a beautifully dressed courtesan haggling prices for a piece of jewelry by the counter. Her eyes flickered as she spotted some individuals who wouldn’t make anyone suspicious and yet they were like crows with third eyes on their foreheads.

’Old lady, I didn’t think that you were that vigilant. You dare send so many people to keep an eye on me. I will teach you a lesson. Just wait and see!’
