Chapter 274: Chapter 274: TULIP TOWER 2
Calista, on the other hand, had no clue of what the other was thinking. She just needed her information as soon as possible.
"What you need will be ready by tomorrow," after calming herself down, the woman gave Calista a response after taking the money.
Calista nodded, accepting this response. Tomorrow was still fine and what wouldn’t be was several days later, after paying all the money needed.
After getting a good response, Calista didn’t forget the other thing she was here for and asked the woman, "I have some information that I want to sell or should I say, the information I want your people to help me spread. How much would that be?" her eyes flickering with a sly glint, which made the woman twitch, wondering what kind of madness the other party wanted to do.
Since they were in business, the woman didn’t care what kind of madness that information would bring to the tower, especially seeing how the snake, after finishing the biscuits, slithered into the customer’s sleeve and went out of sight.
She quoted a price slightly lower compared to the normal prices. Calista found the price reasonable and paid for it as well.
With the money paid, Calista exaggeratedly revealed the information that she wanted to be spread on some future date that week. She would inform them when to start spreading the news.
When the woman sat there listening to this story, her eyes widened in shock. The tower had been operating in the city for nearly two decades and yet this was the first time that she was hearing about something that hilarious.
However, thinking about the rumors which were squashed before they could ferment, her eyes couldn’t help but narrow as she felt that there was something there.
Unfortunately, this information couldn’t be used to make money in the future. As long as it gets spread, everyone would soon know about it and that wouldn’t make it a treasure anymore.
Thankfully, they have earned a lot, so the future losses didn’t make her heart ache.
After concluding another deal, the woman decided to befriend the customer, so she went against the rules and introduced herself, startling Calista who didn’t think that it could happen.
"I am Lady Nayeli, the current manager of the tower. Honorable guest, how should I call you?"
Seeing the other extending an olive branch, Calista didn’t play hard to get but exchanged her name as well.
"You can call me Lady Calista or Solace. Whichever name that suits you!"
When Nayeli heard that, a smile blossomed on her face and she readily called the other, "It’s a pleasure to do business with you, Lady Solace!"
Calista grinned at Nayeli and responded, "The pleasure is mine as well. Lady Nayeli, I have heard that the tower has another floor where I can see your rarest treasures. Is it possible to check it out?" before enthusiastically asking, her eyes sparkling, looking forward to seeing whatever was there.
Nayeli never expected that Calista wanted to go on that floor as well. However, when she heard that, a genuine smile blossomed on her face. That floor was reserved for VIP customers and Calista just ended up being part of that list as well.
She was one of the few customers who dared spend so much on just one sitting. She had seen a lot of gold in that pouch. She would be a fool if she didn’t take this golden customer there.
"I will gladly take you there! Please follow me!" Nayeli happily said as she stood on her feet.
Once that rang in Caliste’s ears, she looked at Nayeli with a smile as she rose to her feet as well.
Moments later, the two ladies were seen taking the stairs upstairs while chatting merrily, as if they were best friends.
When they got upstairs, Calista was surprised to see that there were quite a number of people looking at the jewelry on display.
With Nayeli as her host and guide, Calista found the viewing very satisfactory. With Nayeli’s exaggerated narrations, Calista’s mind would imagine that kind of scene. As a result, she found out that she had taken a liking to a lot of goodies there.
However, she didn’t buy a single thing at the moment. As much as she didn’t care about other things, attracting thieves wasn’t something that she truly liked.
As a result, she promised Nayeli to buy a few of the pieces before leaving.
Nayeli wasn’t disappointed when she heard that. Calista didn’t seem to be the kind of person who would fool others.
Once she was done, Calista left the tower with a smile on her face. At this time, the sun was setting, making it difficult to tour further.
As a result, she could only track back to the inn while enjoying the evening scenery.
She stopped by a few stalls and bought some trinkets before making her way to the inn. However, she didn’t go straight to the inn but checked the restaurant first. She was curious about the famous meat dishes she had heard the people talking so much about.
When she got there, the tables were nearly full, making it difficult to find a spot.
Seeing that she might not be able to enjoy a meal without reserving a table first, she planned on returning to the inn. At least at the inn, she could find a table. If she didn’t get it, she could still order and eat her dinner in her room.
However, as she was about to turn around to leave, something unexpected happened.
"My lady, please wait!" an unfamiliar female voice called out to her, making her stop in her tracks.
Calista confusingly looked at the person who had just called her trying to find out who was she and where they had met for her to stop her like that. However, when that mature face entered her vision, Calista found herself clenching her teeth angrily without exposing any emotion as she looked at the person walking towards her with a flattering smile.
’It seems that enemies indeed meet on a narrow path. I was going to find you in a few days, but I didn’t think that you would bring yourself to me on a silver platter! Things are surely about to get interesting!’ she mused as a soft smile appeared on her face.
