Chapter 253: POURING OUT HER HEART

Chapter 253: Chapter 253: POURING OUT HER HEART

She didn’t know how to deal with such a self-centered man, to be honest. She looked at him with an icy gaze as she berated, "I don’t know what kind of life you were used to having when you were out there. You might be some young master and hold a higher position. People might revere you and look at you like a God. But in my eyes, you are just a man. A man I used to love so much that I was willing to do some foolish acts just to have you.

I don’t regret the things that I did back then. After all, if we are to be honest, we both fooled each other. I wanted a husband and a child, and you wanted to steal my medicine. So, for that part, let’s cancel that matter out."

At this stage, Calista no longer bothered to hide. She was going to lay everything out and let this man understand once and for all. As for what he would want to do after hearing all that, that would be something for another matter.

She didn’t want to live with a man whose heart wasn’t with her and always suspicious of her about everything that happened around them.

"We both know that no matter what lame excuses you made up in your mind, if that scamming sorceress didn’t lead you back here, and you haven’t received the right medicine, you wouldn’t be here. This union would have been a joke and both of us go separate ways.

I don’t know if you love me as you say but being honest with our feelings, I think that what you feel is guilt and a sense of responsibility," she sighingly said as she looked at the man, her gaze devoid of much emotion.

Orson didn’t respond, as he found himself at a loss for words. He could only listen as his fists were clenched, feeling his heart getting pierced by this cold, hard truth.

"You have a family that you love so much and anyone could tell that. After all, without the girl’s ailment, you wouldn’t be here right now. If you have noticed yourself, the time you spend with the twins isn’t as much as you spend with your daughters.

I am not complaining, but I just want to point this out to you so that you may see it. Just like how you love your daughters, I love the twins so much.

You might think that you love me or act like you do, but that seems to linger around me, who is in possession of many things that you have used for.

As for my children, their place in your heart is very small. I am not asking you to neglect your daughters for my children. Even without your love, I can still love them wholeheartedly."

Orson, at this stage, felt like he had been stripped bare. His feelings for Calista were indeed complicated and quite confusing. To be pointed out by her in such a manner, he couldn’t even show his dissatisfaction. Unlike the people who reversed him, she wasn’t the same.

The power she holds was much higher than his and with a single thought, those beasts would tear him into shreds without mercy.

If it wasn’t for the medicine to cure the girls, just like she said, he would have looked at the whole meeting like a fleeting meeting. After all, he was a grown-up man and during his travels; he had taken on many identities. It wouldn’t be surprising if he added one.

If he was truthful, it could be said that his heart started reacting when he learnt that she was pregnant and being mushy with another man. He was filled with jealousy, but the other emotions, he was starting to evaluate himself as well.

That was why he couldn’t refute, but could only listen as she poured her heart.

"I don’t care about your feelings, whether they are genuine or not. I am an adult and I have had my share of this and I won’t let myself be fooled once again," with an icy tone, Calista revealed her thoughts to the man.

She would be lying if she said that she didn’t have feelings for Orson, but they weren’t as strong as they were in the beginning.

Even her first husband didn’t treat her the way Orson did. To be ditched and become a laughingstock was completely unacceptable. Not even a letter was sent to her and by the time he arrived, he dared to raise his voice and tried to control her life.

As if that wasn’t enough, he brought with him a woman he knew for sure was in love with him. Didn’t he know that there would be conflicts?

The Orson she knew wasn’t stupid. He knew all these things and yet he allowed them to happen. Was he trying to demean her in front of people?

He watched as that woman insulted her and called her children and the one he sired as bastards. And yet not even for a moment did he berate that woman. If Whitey hadn’t made a move, she might have suffered that day and listened to many unpleasant words.

He stood there like a young master and watched her suffer. On top of it all, he was so thick-skinned he wanted her to treat his beloved daughters.

Such a selfish man, at times, she wondered why she softened her stance and allowed him to pursue her.

Now that she thinks about it, wasn’t he being like this to fool her into giving him more medicine? After all, his deceased wife’s family was still ridden with this ailment.

To save that family, he was willing to sell himself like this. What a faithful man he was. She really paled against that dead woman. So why bother to make herself look pitiful when she could have any man that she wants?

"When your men arrive, I shall take what I asked for. I will give you the medicine that you want. You and your people will leave by then. As for what me and the kids will do, you don’t have to worry. I can manage on my own. And don’t even think about taking my kids away or scheming anything regarding this matter. I will make sure to bring everything that you love dear with you if that ever happens," she said seriously as she looked at him coldly, sending shivers down his spine.
