Chapter 251: Chapter 251: FAREWELL DINNER 2
"Diana, I will leave this book to you. Remember to return the original book to me once you are done," she said smilingly to Diana before adding, "As for how you want to deal with it, you deal with the others like you discussed."
Diana didn’t waste time but took the book with sparkling eyes from Calista.
She was certain that these women spoke about it before Diana came to her. They might as well deal with the rest of the matters regarding the book.
As for whether the book would earn or not, now that would be another story. She just needed to spread this awareness and reach out to more women and men as well.
A man who understands what a woman goes through is good. She just hoped that the world would be filled with such kind of men.
When men love their women, she believes that the world will become a better place.
The men, seeing that, couldn’t help but be curious, especially Hayes, who didn’t have a filter when he was with Calista.
"Cali, what kind of book is that?" curiosity written all over his face.
When Madam Fischer heard that, glared at her son, having the urge to bash him. How could he have an interest in women’s business?
"Hehe, if you are curious, then wait to buy the book when it’s printed. You can do so, right?" Calista gave a teasing response, sticking her tongue at him, not revealing a single thing.
When Hayes got such a response, he sulkily pouted as he looked at her. Making Madam Fischer and Jeremy wonder if this person was someone that they knew.
Did Hayes perhaps get too spoiled that he forgot that he was a man in his twenties with wives and kids?
How could he act so childishly like that?
Calista didn’t entertain him but rolled her eyes at him as she prepared to stand up.
Seeing her doing so, Orson, who had been silent all this time but keeping an eye on her, stood to his feet first as he said, "Let me help you," his act of lending a hand earning him good marks from Calista.
Calista stretched her hand towards Orson, who naturally took it before gently helping her to her feet.
Once she was on her feet, Calista looked at everyone at the table and said, "I need to go. The twins might be waking up at any time soon. You guys enjoy yourselves. We will meet tomorrow morning," her tone laced with helplessness.
If she didn’t have kids to take care of now, she might have remained with them and played a few more games, chatted and done much more.
However, her kids were more important than everyone else. Her heart aches whenever they open their small mouths and cry. That hurt this new mother who finally got her prayer answered after so many years.
Knowing that she had kids to take care of. No one tried to dissuade her but actually encouraged her.
"Okay, you go and spend time with the kids."
"We will see you tomorrow morning."
"Good night!"
Seeing everyone supportive, she smiled at them as she said, "Good night, everyone," before leaving the room with Orson.
Seeing the couple leaving, those who remained couldn’t help but let out helpless sighs.
"I never thought that I would get to see this in my life!"
"You mean Calista as a mother?"
"No! I mean seeing a man doing his best to please the woman who bore him children!"
Listening to that, Hayes, who was there on the day Orson arrived, couldn’t help but chuckle heartily.
Madam Fischer, seeing her son at it again, glared at him, wondering what kind of crazy thoughts were swirling in his mind.
"You .... What’s so funny?"
Hayes stifled his laughter, his eyes reddening as that magical or rather scary scene of that day surfaced in his mind and yet because of his mother’s threatening tone, he could only tone his laughter down, but didn’t hesitate to share the gossip.
After all, among all the people gathered at this dinner, only he was there to witness that scene. He wondered if they could have the same thoughts about Orson if they knew what had happened back then.
"Mother, haha, honestly, I still think that he is getting it easy," he snorted lightly as he shook his head while glaring in the direction where Orson had left.
Upon hearing that, Madam Fischer knew that there was more to it than what meets the eye.
At this stage, she didn’t have to worry about her son developing feelings for Calista. He might be naughty or acting spoiled as he was now, but his feelings for Calista were that of his siblings.
There was no way her son, who was so possessive of those wives at home, would allow the woman he loves to be intimate with someone like that.
On top of that, she had noticed something, and it was all thanks to Jeremy. Rather than saying that the way Calista and Hayes act when they are together is of lovers, it was more of closer siblings who knew how to bring the other’s true self into reality.
As long as they were together, they were like kids. Once she puts that in her mind, the image of these two doing anything scandalous completely vanishes.
Hayes clicked his tongue as his lips curled upward into a smirk, replying, "You should have seen the day when he arrived. He ..." and started exposing Orson’s good deeds.
Bam!
"He did what?" Madam Fischer slammed the table angrily as she glared at her son who was in the middle of narrating, while the women’s faces didn’t look especially good.
Although they knew that, Orson wronged Calista. They didn’t think that something so crazy happened on the day he arrived.
"Tell me. For someone who could dare do such a thing, don’t you think that Cali forgave him easily?" he clicked his tongue, feeling frustrated on behalf of his godsister.
Madam Fischer looked in the direction of Calista’s bedroom. Until now, Orson hadn’t appeared. Who knows what he was doing there?
"He was forgiven pretty easily," she said with gritted teeth, her fists clenched, and not disguising her current hatred for Orson at all.
Who knew that he could resort to such things even when he was wrong and the one who needed help?
What made him feel that he was entitled?
Wasn’t that being too egoistic?
