Chapter 247: CAUSING TROUBLE AND RUNNING AWAY
Chapter 247: Chapter 247: CAUSING TROUBLE AND RUNNING AWAY
Hayes, unaware of how pissed off his mother was, simply ran forward and hugged Calista.
In his mind, what was wrong with hugging her? He had hugged her many times before.
However, he didn’t realize that ever since he reunited with Calista; he had been corrupted and was no longer doing things by the book.
In their current society, men and women shouldn’t be too close. Even holding hands could force a couple that didn’t love each other to marry each other.
It was that serious.
Unfortunately, Calista was something else.
"I missed you, you know!" Hayes sulkily complained as he checked Calista attentively and forced her to twirl around.
Calista let this worried brother of hers do what he wanted.
"Are you done now? Are you not afraid that I might go dizzy with all the twirling?" she asked teasingly, finding his actions pretty funny.
The people watching the scene could no longer take it.
Madam Fischer was marching towards the two with a furious expression. Meanwhile, Leeshay and Diana, who had gone numb with all the inappropriate show of display, had made themselves scarce, after seeing how angry Madam Fischer was.
Meanwhile, the two who were about to get into trouble suddenly did something that made everyone speechless.
Calista from the corner of her eyes, saw the angry Madam Fischer marching towards her. She knew that they were in trouble.
Not only did she get out of confinement, but she was busy playing around with Hayes. She had forgotten after not seeing Hayes that the mother was around.
Not willing to be berated in her own home, she held Hayes’s hand, catching him unaware, and before he could ask what was going on, Calista was holding the hem of her dress and dragging Hayes running away from the manor.
"Cali, you ...." Hayes was at a loss for words as he let Calista pull her along.
Calista, on the other hand, chuckled heartily as she said, "Dear, if we don’t run, we might suffer a beating from your mother. Do you want to be beaten?" informing him of what was happening.
When Hayes heard that, it clicked in his mind that he had left his mother and brother when he saw Calista.
How could he forget about that?
Thinking about how hard-headed his mother could be, as he ran with Calista, he couldn’t help but turn his head to look at his mother.
Upon seeing the shock on her face, he couldn’t contain himself and laughed.
How could she look so funny and cute?
Feeling like causing trouble, he waved at her as he called out, "Mother, see you at the factory!" earning a squeeze from Calista, causing him to hiss in pain.
"Sis, come on!" he complained as he hissed from the pain.
Calista, who held his hand, rolled her eyes at him as she chided, "You dare say that to your mother. Are you not afraid that she will punish you when you return home?"
Hayes grinned as he thought of how tenacious his mother was and answered, "Even if she does so. I can assure you that it won’t be too bad. She is happy, trust me," as a son who knew his mother well. How could she be angry at him for long?
If she wanted to chide him, then she would be forced to do the same to Calista. But would she be able to do it and go unscathed?
This time, he found himself a strong backer. There was no way he would suffer as long as he was in Calista’s presence.
As for when they go home, he believed that she would be merciful. After all, he had seen how she looked at him differently ever since she came to this village.
Calista, hearing that, decided to believe in him.
Either way, even if he gets in trouble, what did that have to do with her?
After leaving the manor and running some distance, Calista finally reduced her speed and started walking.
The two of them weren’t panting. It was as if they were walking earlier.
The two released their hands, but Hayes took hold of her arms shortly after that. He had gotten used to holding her like that when she was pregnant. His reflexes were still there.
Calista didn’t reject this and simply allowed him to do so. She loves being treated like a lady. It made her feel good.
It would be great if Orson learnt a bit from Hayes. Unfortunately, that man, not knowing where he vanished with his daughters, was like a block of wood. Maybe he was still shy about showing off some affection in public.
Anyway, she was going to miss this young brother when he left. Thankfully, they would meet again in a few months. She was supposed to go and get that ceremony done. Recognizing relatives and so forth.

Meanwhile, following the two naughty people were Madam Fischer, Jeremy, Diana, and Leeshay.
Madam Fischer was still very angry and, more so after those two acted, an eloping scene.
"Seriously ..... how could she act like a child? She is a mother for crying out loud!" Madam Fischer angrily yelled as she looked at the two were now walking the way she saw them doing before Calista gave birth and was surrounded by a few kids.
Leeshay chuckled faintly as she looked at Calista, who looked like a fairy walking in front of them.
"It’s been a week, and she is running around like that!" Madam Fischer felt like she was going to blow up because of Calista.
At this moment, she wasn’t even angry at how those two were holding hands or hooking arms. How could she run around like that after all the pain and suffering she went through in the labor room?
Her heart ached for Calista.
Jeremy had a smile on his face as he watched his angry mother and then those two who weren’t acting their age.
Looking at how happy and how Hayes looked more genuine when he was around Calista, Jeremy liked this version of his brother.
Being a child and son of his family, he was fully aware of the pressure that Hayes grew up in. It was because of it that he ran away from home and they nearly lost him. If it wasn’t for Calista saving him years back then, maybe he wouldn’t be here today.
As a son of his family, he was forced to do a lot of things that he didn’t like. Fortunately, his rebellious stage got some results, as he managed to become a merchant in the end.
Despite that, though, it didn’t erase the fact that he didn’t seem to be himself. In fact, did they even know his real self?
He couldn’t help but wonder.
