A Love Reborn: Finding Romance Twice In One Lifetime
Chapter 232: ANOTHER BANQUET 6

Chapter 232: Chapter 232: ANOTHER BANQUET 6

"How are you feeling?" Orson asked worriedly as he sat next to Calista.

Calista looked at the man she once loved or probably still does otherwise she wouldn’t be tolerating him that much like that and smiled at him reassuringly, "I am doing well."

Orson looked at her skeptically and didn’t bother to hide it.

She clicked her tongue at him, finding his reaction a bit too much. Nonetheless, she stretched her hand towards him and, as if he was on cue, he naturally took it and felt her pulse.

Calista let Orson, the godly doctor look at her meanwhile the brothers were watching the familiar scene with relish.

"Mother! Father!" suddenly the girls excited calling sounded in everyone’s ears while Orson was in the middle of checking Calista.

Calista beamed as she turned her head to look at the girls she loved so much and waved at them with her free hand, earning a cold glare from Orson.

"Heartless!" she berated him before looking at the girls again.

Hayes’s lips curled upwards upon seeing Orson getting berated for no reason. As long as the two were together, there would be free melons to eat. He couldn’t get enough.

The girls ran steadily until they were standing obediently in front of their mother and father.

"Mother, are you not feeling well?"

Upon seeing their father checking their mother’s pulse. The girls couldn’t help but ask worriedly.

Calista sensing the girls’ worry for her, her like for the girls quadrupled. They weren’t her flesh and blood and yet they knew how to care for her already. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if she and Orson got back together.

They might not have the same feelings they used to have before, but being able to be together and raise the three kids together might not be a bad thing.

However, it was too early to think about that. She needed to check if Orson wasn’t here to get the girls treated and ditch her again. Her heart won’t be able to take it.

"I am fine. It’s your father being dramatic!" she said with a chuckle, pushing all blame to Orson, who was only concerned and nothing else.

Used already to getting framed, he accepted the black pot with a calm expression and finished his diagnosis.

"Anything wrong with me?" she corked her brow playfully as she asked.

Orson shook his head, though his brows were furrowed, obviously thinking about something.

When Calista saw that, she didn’t push him to say anything as she knew that he didn’t want to say anything in front of the kids.

Even the two Fischer brothers sensed that, and to distract the unsuspecting girls, they started asking them questions.

With the mood uplifted, the girls quickly forgot about any issues and Calista whispered to Orson as the guests approached the gazebo asking, "What’s wrong with me?" curious about what Orson found out.

From what she knew, she wasn’t feeling anything at all. Her body was good, so what made the baby daddy react like that?

Orson looked at her with a worried expression on his face as he replied, "You might deliver early," recalling how close the baby was.

He knew that women would have contractions and it would take a while before the baby was at the right distance to be pushed out during labor. But Calista’s case didn’t seem quite right. It was as if the baby was pushing itself without causing the mother any pain. At the rate this was going, she might even give birth in two or three weeks.

That’s way one to two weeks before the due date. They needed to be ready for anything.

When Calista heard that, she let out a sigh of relief. "I thought it was a deadly disease! Or something serious!" she couldn’t believe how scared Orson was.

However, knowing that he was like that because of her, a smile blossomed on her face, finding him very much to her liking.

Orson looked dumbfoundedly at her, wondering if she wasn’t scared at all. Giving birth was a dangerous thing for women. A lot of them died during childbirth and all that others cared for were the children and not the mothers.

A lot of complications can occur, and that would put the mother at risk. He didn’t even know if what the baby was doing was a good thing or a bad thing. And yet the mother was busy being all carefree. How could he not react that way?

Unfortunately, he didn’t get time to berate her, as the guests, Ba Susan, Ma Susan and Madam Fischer, finally joined them in the gazebo.

Calista chuckled in triumph upon seeing that Orson had many things to say and yet failed to do so due to the arrival of the elders.

She really didn’t like hearing him nagging. He was too handsome for that.

Besides, why worry when she has everything covered?

There was no way she was going to be defeated by childbirth.

She still has many secret weapons she hasn’t used yet.

She was going to conquer.

For now, rather than worrying about the child, they might as well enjoy the banquet and make a lot of memories.

When everyone was gathered, Calista looked at the people seated and felt her heart full.

To imagine that once upon a time, she used to eat her meals by herself and when she had people, she would be at the Dickens smooching off their food and causing havoc.

Those times, despite being good, she loved being surrounded by people.

In her next life, she was going to find a large family and marry into it. The larger the family, the better. It wasn’t quite nice being few. It made one feel very lonely.

They were all brought together due to many reasons. Whatever reasons there were, the fact that they could all sit and eat together now, she knew that they were fate.

Ince fate decrees, no one could say otherwise.
