Chapter 218: Chapter 218: LETS HAVE ANOTHER TALK 2

Calista smiled triumphantly, puffing her cheeks at him like a small kid, her reactions making the two men in the room stifle their laughter.

Laughing at Calista nowadays was a death sentence. It was best to hold it in and release it when you were alone.

Her pregnancy made her very sensitive. She could flare up at silly things. Thankfully, she easily got entertained and forgot the things which made her angry.

However, just because it happens like that doesn’t mean that they could take advantage of it.

She was someone who held grudges, and people like that were very dangerous.

It was better to tone it down and hold it in for the moment.

"It’s about the rumors circulating in these few days. Have you heard any of them?" Calista turned serious once she started talking, her gaze piercing as she looked at Orson.

Orson’s face scrunched up, and a glint of confusion flashed across his eyes as he asked, "What rumors? I barely interact with the villagers. Is there anything serious going on out there?"

Calista dumbfoundedly looked at Orson, who didn’t seem to be aware of the rumors. His confused gaze and that blank expression on his face didn’t seem to be a lie.

If he knew nothing about it, how was she going to scold him now?

"You don’t know anything about it?" Calista, unwilling to give up, asked for the second time.

Orson shook his head as he released a helpless sigh. "I have no idea. Please share it with me."

Hearing that, Calista accepted that Orson might be innocent in this matter. A smile was forcefully pasted on her face.

"Fine, since you don’t know, then continue being that way. However, I will tell you this second. Just because I let the girls call me mother doesn’t mean that the two of us will continue from where we stopped.

You have your life, and I have mine. So, let’s keep it that way. When my things are here, you take your girls and people back to wherever you came from.

This child in my belly is mine and won’t be going anywhere with you. I will raise my own child and no man or woman can take that from me.

If anyone dares, I will open the floodgates of hell onto that person. Trust me, I am not joking. If you want to participate and do your duties as the father, you are welcome.

I will be expecting some child support from you. How can you just go around leaving children all over? Of course, if you don’t want to do so, then forget it. I can still raise a village for generations to come. That’s how rich I am!" she couldn’t help but brag as she stood up.

It would be better if she raised her child alone. That way, she wouldn’t see his face again.

However, she didn’t mind getting some child support. Since the father was alive and well, why not let him bleed?

She wasn’t the kind of person who would suffer a loss without doing anything.

Hayes and Orson speechlessly listened to the one-sided attack from Calista. Completely stunned by how the story changed so swiftly without warning.

That was the first time that they were hearing something absurd like that. However, looking at the serious Calista, they knew that she wasn’t joking.

If anyone really tries something, those two pets would be the first to move. But what about the unseen danger?

The two men shuddered at that thought.

Orson stood on his feet, seeing Calista on her feet, glaring at him as if waiting for an answer.

He had shared the same bed with this woman, and in the past few days, he was filled with guilt, concern and too much anxiety. He had forgotten that she wasn’t all spikes.

She was a loving and very warm woman. And she proved it once again but treated his daughters and Vaani despite everything that had happened to them.

If this was her a few days ago, she wouldn’t have suggested that if he wanted to take part in raising the child, he would give child support. She would have denied him that chance of even giving him a chance to defend himself.

And yet today, she said it.

Although he didn’t want to admit it, just like him, probably something in her still longed for him.

And that awareness made him muster his courage. The courage that the famous ghost doctor and Pierce were known for.

Calista looked suspiciously at Orson as he approached her with a strange gaze. The gaze made her remember some moments she wanted to forget regarding the time they were together.

’What does he want to do?’ She asked herself that without moving an inch.

Why should she back away just because he was coming in her direction?

Rather than fear, her body seemed to be screaming for whatever he wanted to do.

Unfortunately, she was quickly disappointed as he didn’t do anything her naughty mind was thinking about but rather, he stopped a short distance away from her with a profound gaze, she nearly got drowned in it as he said, "Calista, I know that we started on the wrong foot, and it was hard for the two of us in that period. For lying to you, playing along and making a fool out of you. I sincerely apologize!" however as soon as he started saying that, her heart started pounding like crazy.

She might have been expecting naughtiness, but this sudden confession made her heart flutter. She couldn’t help but gaze into his eyes, seeking that confirmation.

From the beginning until now, despite getting along minimally with each other ever since the girls woke up, the sorry was something that she desperately wanted to hear from him.

Listening to him as he apologized and his gaze sincere, just like how it was whenever they were being intimate, baring their souls to each other. Though it wasn’t fully complete, she knew it right there.

That was the apology she had been waiting for.

But why was he suddenly apologizing?

Could it be that was cooking another scheme again?
