Chapter 215: THANK YOU, MOTHER!

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: THANK YOU, MOTHER!

Sometime later, Calista sat on a rocking chair as she looked at the two girls, who were blinking at her with curiosity. Something in their eyes was shining, and she couldn’t pinpoint what might be the reason.

Knowing that they were awake, even if she wanted to avoid it, Calista knew that this time she was doomed to meet with Orson. So, she prepared herself first before going to the girls’ room.

When she arrived, the father and daughters were in the middle of chatting and the arrival of the intruder didn’t seem to spark much aversion as she thought.

She settled in her rocking chair and now there they were, looking at each other.

Orson was relieved when he saw Calista coming into the room, despite his presence. Honestly, when the girls woke up earlier, he was overjoyed. He was happy that they were fine, awake and most of the worries could now be put down.

At the same time, even if Calista wanted to hide from him, she could no longer do so. After all, one way or the other, she still needed to check the girls’ condition. Although she was holding them hostage, as she said, she wouldn’t neglect them.

As a doctor, he had been seeing their improvement daily, so he was fully aware of how well she had been taking care of them.

"Aren’t you going to introduce me?" after waiting for a while without anyone saying a word, Calista asked as she looked at Orson who had gone mute ever since her arrival.

Orson cleared his throat as soon as that question was thrown at him. He didn’t expect her to snap at him that fast.

The girls looked eagerly at their father, eager to get the formal introduction.

As he looked at Calista, he inwardly took a deep breath before a smile formed on his lips.

"Cali, these are my daughters, Gemma and Emma," he introduced as his gaze shifted to the girls, who were both sitting on the bed with shy smiles on their faces.

’What beautiful names!’ Calista thought with a smile as she looked fondly at the girls.

Seeing Calista reacting positively, Orson found his courage when facing her return. He continued, "And girls, this is Lady Solace. The lady I just talked about earlier!" his words emphasized the last part.

When Calista heard that, she tilted her head in his direction, curiosity and confusion written on her face.

’What did this man talk about her to his kids?’

She just hoped that it wasn’t that bad.

When the girls heard that, their eyes shined even brighter as they looked at Calista.

"Aren’t you going to greet her, girls?" Orson added as he looked at the girls with raised brows.

Upon hearing that, the girls straightened their small backs while looking at Calista and with infirmity bowed their heads in her direction as they greeted, "Greetings, mother! Thank you for saving us!" their voices were very refreshing and their words very disturbing as well.

What did they mean by calling her mother?

She snapped as she glared at Orson, who was shrugging his shoulders at her innocently, proclaiming his innocence before she could even ask him.

Facing such a situation alongside the girls’ eager eyes as they looked at her waiting for the response and the baby doing his favorite game; kicking. She could only smile back at them as she replied, "No need for thanks. I just did what I should," without addressing the mother issue.

She and Orson were no longer a thing. They stopped being one, the day he left without saying a word.

Orson pumped his fists triumphantly inwardly when he saw Calista acceding to the girls’ address. And when he looked at his eldest, he couldn’t help but wink at her before looking aside as if he hadn’t done a single thing.

Calista wasn’t aware of what the father and daughters were doing in her presence, as at this moment, she was a bit more concerned with their current health state.

Since she was seated, getting up was definitely a big no. so she summoned Emma, the youngest of the two, to take a look at her.

Emma obediently climbed down the bed and walked sluggishly towards Calista, a bit nervous and her small eyes observing the other in a dodgy manner.

They spent quite some time hearing so much about this lady and seeing her in person now. She couldn’t help but be curious. Especially when looking at that big belly.

She might be sick and ten years old, but she was a young adult who knew what should be known.

This lady, the one they just called mother, was their father’s woman or wife! Anyway, from their father’s mouth, their relationship was a bit complicated since he left without saying a word and right now, mother was angry.

She was also carrying their younger siblings and knowing that in a short while, they would be seeing a little brother or sister, she found herself liking this new mother very much.

Even if she didn’t like her, she was the one who treated them. Without her, they would be dead by now. It wasn’t time to be choosy or make things difficult for her.

On Calista’s side, she wasn’t aware of what the little girl was thinking as her concentration was on her body.

When Emma got closer, she took her hand in hers and started checking her pulse. Rather than using the pulse to check for any illnesses just like those professional doctors, she was busy checking the state of the spiritual energy in the small body.

The medicine was full of spiritual energy, and it was that energy that had been fighting against whatever these girls were sick of.

Sensing the energy coursing through the body, a smile blossomed on her face.

At this rate, in a month or so, the girls would be completely healed and she wouldn’t need to use much of her undiluted medicine. She just needed to keep them closer. With them by her side, they would be up and running like normal kids without any worry of dying.

"You are faring well. Keep up the good work!" Calista complimented the girl sincerely., very happy to see her doing well.

It was like she was the one getting rewarded.
