Chapter 185: Chapter 185: SETTING SOME GROUND RULES 3

As for the food workshop, plans for this workshop were in store for months prior and she was excited just thinking of what she was going to see once they started.

Women all knew how to cook, especially those from the villages. That was something that wasn’t debatable at all. They were different from the city-born ladies who were served by others from young till old age.

So, there wasn’t much to teach to them except teaching them the recipes which she wanted.

Her first priority right now was the snacks. The wine was fermenting nicely and of it; she stored it nicely in her storage ring.

What stopped her from opening the wine shop was the unavailability of the snacks.

So, their task was to make the snacks which her maids now knew how to make. And so did the two chefs Diana brought for her, the ones she made managers.

As for what kind of snacks the two managers knew pretty well what she wanted. So, they knew what to do.

Lastly, in the handicrafts workshop, with two managers, there wasn’t much for her to worry about.

The other manager could do basketry and in these three weeks, just like the other weavers under her, she was busy weaving some delicate baskets for her, which she loved a lot.

The other manager, being a potter, had been busy overseeing the construction of the kilns. It was important to have these kilns somewhere closer. This way, they could fire the pottery once they were done molding.

These managers would be teaching the trainees how to weave and do pottery first. and when she found time, she was going to teach them what she wanted. In her case was soap making and making bookmarkers.

There were a lot of scholars, and selling bookmarkers would be a profitable business. So far, she had never seen bookmarkers being sold anywhere. She wasn’t sure if no one had introduced the idea yet, it just never reached her backward area. But she was certain and hopeful that she would make it once she started this business.

This marked the end of the assignments.

She just needed to make sure that in the weeks to come, the factory would be operating well, with everyone getting used to their roles.

As for problems which might arise during this period, she would do her best to solve them.

In the days which followed, Calista found that she was getting busier with each passing day and this was something that made her heart pound with joy.

Ever since the factory opened, listening to the noise coming from that side every single day made her heart flutter so much that she was over the moon.

Once every day, she would drop by the factory to check if everyone was faring well, and so far, she was very proud of what she was seeing.

At least, for now, everyone was very enthusiastic about their jobs and doing their best to keep up with the masters and learning diligently.

At the same time, Calista also found that life had become a bit tough, especially without someone like Mammy Lena she could rely on.

With her gone, Calista knew that she needed someone by her side and finding that person as soon as possible was a must.

Thinking like this, she started preparing for the last trip of the year before the rain started falling.

The rain usually starts falling in December, so at the moment she didn’t have much to worry about. She just needed to return home before the sky was ready to itself free.

So, apart from checking the factory, she also started preparing for the trip.

Diana hadn’t left yet, so she had someone to accompany her this time.

Diana was planning on leaving. She had other things to do at home, so this sudden trip to Calista made it perfect for her to leave.

On the way, they will accompany Calista and make sure that she is well taken care of on the way.

Calista found no issue with this, so she arranged it that way.

This time, she planned to return to Liresa City. It was only in cities that she could find the kind of people she wanted. Silverbroke town was limited, and she didn’t dare be stingy with herself.

Besides, her friend in Liresa had connections. She would be able to find the right people there. She might as well add a few more servants in the process as well.

With her plans well thought out, all preparations were made.

Calista assigned the person she trusted the most in the village, Ba Susan with the money for the wages as well as stern instructions on what was expected to be done.

This trip would last at least two weeks or fewer, and she couldn’t starve her staff just because she wanted to travel.

As for the factory, the managers knew what needed to be done, and there was the village chief to keep an eye out for them daily. What was there to fear?

Once her house was in order, the day came for her to leave. And when she did, the Dickens family was there to send her off.

This time, her carriage was being manned by Susan’s husband, since she didn’t have a coachman yet.

She came home with many carriages but no one to lead. So Frank, who has experience in leading, took the job. And he was getting paid lucratively as well.

The journey to Liresa City took her three and a half days instead of two. Because of her condition, the carriage moved slower than usual, which took up most of the time.

Thankfully, Diana wasn’t in a rush and she kind of enjoyed the delay as well.

After all, Diana and Calista traveled during the day in the same carriage and only separated at night when Calista needed to rest and sleep.

When they arrived in Liresa City, Calista didn’t go to an inn this time but went to her friend Leeshay’s house.

Since she was pregnant, she didn’t trust staying at inns. Staying at her friend’s house put her at ease, and most importantly, Leeshay was thrilled to see her.

It was a win-win situation for everyone.
