Chapter 184: Chapter 184: SETTING SOME GROUND RULES 2
Some people tend to take advantage of the fact that they are the leaders, so they can do whatever they want.
In this case, and in this village, she was the leader and the only person allowed to cause havoc at the factory or any establishment that belonged to her. Even the village chief didn’t have any right to do so. So, if he couldn’t, then what about a mere manager?
She will not allow two roosters in one pen.
Just having her was enough.
Rather than suffering because of this in the future, she might as well make it clear right now. This way, if anyone dares to try this, they would understand why they are suffering when she punishes them heavily in the future.
Calista also discussed the possible benefits for the staff in the future. Since everyone was on probation for six months, Calista planned to add other benefits such as housing benefits and scholarships if they were working well with her.
if they weren’t, there was no need for her to waste her money on ungrateful people.
When they heard this, they were in awe and promised solemnly to give their all. And that’s exactly what she wanted to hear.
When all the issues she wanted to address were finished, she moved to the next topic on the agenda; assigning duties for the employees, or rather informing the managers on what she wanted them to achieve in November.
"As you all know, the majority of everyone here doesn’t have the skills to perform the jobs you are tasked to do. Which is where our qualified managers come in!" Calista proudly said as she looked at the eight people Diana had meticulously brought for her.
After spending some time with them in the past three weeks, Calista was very satisfied with them and was at ease to leave everything in their hands.
However, just like at every company, it was a must that managers know what they were supposed to work on, otherwise, everyone would be running around doing whatever they wanted. And she didn’t want to have such a disorganized company.
It didn’t suit her at all.
"These managers would lead all of you in teaching you everything that you should know. So, I expect you to follow their teachings and get the job done in time!" Calista once again brought this matter to light as she scanned everyone.
Seeing no one objecting, not that they had the guts to do so, she continued with her address.
Since it was the first time that they were doing this, learning their jobs and what they were supposed to do was of greater importance. Only when they are learned and know what to do, can they give her what she wanted. Something that can be sold out there.
There were already several merchants and rich madams clamoring for the goods that hadn’t been produced yet.
Her restaurant’s customers were increasing, and they mostly came from rich families. Only the rich can afford to have their people on the road for ten hours for a meal every single day. This kind of luxury was something that left her in awe every single time.
Starting from the sugar-making workshop, Calista assigned them to collect the sugar cane she paid for a very long time ago in the nearby villages. And this was the case for those who were hired as laborers. As for those working directly in manufacturing, the manager in charge would be responsible for teaching them how to make the sugar in small batches until they were good enough to increase the numbers.
She didn’t know how long this was going to take to achieve having the sugar, be it brown or white, though at this moment having brown sugar was enough.
Making white sugar seemed to be a bit difficult from what she heard from the manager. So, she just hoped for them to start with the brown and produce a lot of it. This way, the villagers would have sugar to eat and so will the merchants have something to buy.
Only when the factory is selling its products, can she heave with relief, knowing that she no longer has to cough out money from her own pockets.
For the leather-making workshop, just like the previous workshop, they will enter the learning mode using the low-quality leather that Diana brought for her.
At the same time, they will also be purchasing animal skins from the hunters. That would be done to promote the few hunters remaining in the district as well as the other districts. After all, there was the councilor she needed to support.
Once they were proficient enough, then the actual production would start. Of course, from the manager, she would be expecting actual products in the process. After all, he can’t just teach as he wastes materials. That was completely unacceptable.
for the clothing workshop, they would also be undergoing lessons on how to sew and embroider quality clothes, and not just sew clothes for the sake of it.
on top of that, those who were hired before would continue with their assignments, i.e., making the designated clothes which Calista had assigned them to do.
For now, they were continuing with the uniforms, and this time with the right measurements of the wearers.
At the same time, the staff from this workshop, the trainees, would be required to make masks, which she wanted everyone to own. There was so much dust and unwanted particles which could make a healthy person sick. By wearing masks, she can prevent a bit of that happening, though not completely, but at least it would do something.
Masks were easy to make, and she didn’t think that anyone would fail. Once they were done, she would discuss with the managers in charge of the workshop what she wanted them to make.
There was so much she wanted to see and with her baby coming, she was even eager for this workshop to achieve great things.
