Chapter 173: Chapter 173: BLUEBIRD ISLAND

It was a wonderful morning, with birds chirping in the sky and the sounds of waves resonating throughout the island.

Docking by the pier were several ships, with flags waving left and right.

On board, the ships were men and women, dressed like pirates and all of them chatting happily as they carried boxes up and down.

Some of them were carrying the boxes from the ship and carrying them to the island, where other men and women dressed casually were busy arranging the boxes.

"Carry it over there! Are you starving? Why don’t you have energy?"

"Seriously, Captain! Why are you being all loud today?"

"Don’t ask such questions. Hurry up and carry everything!" the captain, a burly man with a beard and a fierce scar on his face, scolded the young man who was dragging his feet as he carried boxes from the ship.

The young man scowled at the captain as he hurriedly carried the boxes to the site where all the boxes were being carried.

When he put his boxes down, he couldn’t help but look in a certain direction and sighed dejectedly.

"Why is a young man like you sighing sadly like this?" a seductive voice sounded behind his back as he was lost in thoughts.

The young man squeaked with fright as he jumped away, taken by surprise by this sudden question and the appearance of this person.

When the woman saw the young man’s surprise and reaction, she burst into a peal of laughter, her voice very melodious and it attracted the people who were nearby.

"Of all people to attract this morning. He just had to catch the eye of the nymph!"

"Is he lucky or unlucky?"

"Guess!"

"Hahaha, she must be here to cause trouble!"

"Why do you say so?"

"I heard from someone from the main camp. The nymph failed once again to climb the divine doctor’s bed!"

"Oh! She tried once again?"

"Hahaha, you know her obsession with the doctor."

"What’s the point of obsessing over a man who won’t love her?"

"I wonder. To think that all these years she had never dedicated herself to another man just waiting for him."

"It can’t be blamed. Who doesn’t know about the doctor’s love for his deceased wife?"

"Even if it’s like that, don’t you think that the doctor deserves a chance to love again?"

"I know, and I even support that. Even the chief tried many times to arrange marriages for him. But what did he do?" the man sighed helplessly as he thought of the doctor.

The others, upon hearing that, shook their heads as their eyes were filled with pity.

"Despite being a divine doctor, he is riddled with the curse and sickness of his family. He couldn’t save his wife and now his children, too. If I were him, I wouldn’t have time to roll in bed with a woman, despite how seductive or ugly she is."

"That’s true."

’And to make matters worse, the nymph just had to try again when the doctor’s daughters had relapsed again!"

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Isn’t she a fool?"

The young man listened to the men speaking about the issues of the main camp and couldn’t help but look at the nymph with pity.

Who didn’t know about this famous lady?

She was damn seductive, a nine-tailed fox and a vixen who was capable of sending nations into doom.

She was one of the best weapons belonging to their tribe, or rather their gang, which had dominated Bluebird Island for over a century.

It was an island of bandits, their headquarters and their sanctuary.

On the island, there were big shots, the people who always stood out and if sent into battle, these people, even if they were few, were capable of disabling a city or an organization. They were powerful and gifted with talents that would drive the world crazy.

It was thanks to such talents that their stronghold had remained very strong and untouchable for over a century.

And one of these talents was the nymph. A very beautiful woman, whose voice sounded so pleasing, as if it was laced with honey.

Whenever she walks, talks, or dances, there would always be fatality. And yet this woman failed to catch the eye of the one man that nearly all the ladies in the stronghold dearly wanted but couldn’t have.

In the stronghold, the chief was the ruler, their king and the person they all looked towards. The chief took over his chieftainship from his father, who died during a battle in the sea thirteen years ago.

With his death, his eldest son took over, and he has been ruling ever since.

In this chief’s family, the chief has two siblings. Of which one of them died nine years ago. That sibling was a female who was married to the divine doctor. A woman who was envied by many, even in death.

The divine doctor and the chief’s daughter were more of childhood sweethearts. They grew up together as the doctor was raised by the former chief, who brought him from the outside. As for the doctor’s origins, they had no clue and there were a lot of speculations regarding that matter.

When they were of age, the two got married and gave birth to two daughters. But the chief’s family had a hereditary illness, which apparently was very difficult to treat. All the doctors could only suppress it but not treat it for good.

This illness was the one which killed the doctor’s wife, and it passed to her children.

The doctor had been roaming all over the world in search of a cure.

To search for this cure, the doctor even vanished for months and recently returned over a month ago. From the way he looked, everyone knew that he might have found a cure, and there were celebrations on the island when the daughters looked much better compared to before.

Even the chief and the remaining sibling took the medicine. With the chief’s family standing strong, what more did they have to be wary of?

But who would have guessed that a few days ago, the daughters would suffer a relapse, sending the whole island in shock?

Who didn’t know how much the chief loved his nieces so much that everyone even called him biased, especially when comparing these two to his many children?

The main camp was in a state of gloominess and in a case like that, the nymph just dared to climb into the doctor’s bed. Wasn’t she looking for death?

Looking at her, the young man didn’t want to be cannon fodder for anyone, so he simply gave a nod before dashing away.

Whatever she wanted to do, let her do it without him involved.

When the nymph saw the little coward running away, she clicked her tongue in pity.

’He was such a nice piece of meat. Unfortunately, he is too cowardly for me!’ she lamented inwardly as she started walking away, ignoring the gossipy men who didn’t have much to do.
