Chapter 160: Chapter 160: LISA 2

"So, you aren’t your parents’ child, but they adopted you?"

"Yes, I am afraid so."

"If that was the case. Do you know who your biological parents are? What happened to them? And where they find you?" Calista asked Lisa, trying to find out more from her.

At least with more information, she might be able to find out why they wanted to kill her and why the sorceress sent her here.

There should be some connection between what was happening to Lisa and her. There should be something.

"No, Mother died before she could explain further. But if I am not mistaken, I was adopted when I was in the empire of Literra and not Kaneria," Lisa said with certainty.

Her earliest memories, she remembered them being of Literra than Kaneria. Her parents were from the Literra empire. so, there was no way she would have been adopted from Kaneria.

Calista, hearing that, couldn’t help but find Lisa’s reasoning very convincing as well.

"If it’s like that, how did that sorceress send you here?"

Hearing about the sorceress, a helpless sigh escaped out of Lisa’s mouth as she recalled that unfortunate day.

Being hunted by a lunatic who kept on bombarding her for answers she didn’t have, Lisa just wanted to escape and go.

She also wanted answers and wanted to know who her real parents were. She had ignored that fact for a very long time. In fact, for years, this lunatic from nowhere just came to remind her of that. And judging from the way he was acting; he knew something that she didn’t, but he wasn’t going to share that information with her.

He wanted something from her and by triggering her all the time; he hoped that she would remember. When she does, he gets what he wants and then kills her to silence her.

Fearing for her life and curious for answers, Lisa just wished there was anything that she could do to achieve that.

She was willing to sacrifice her soul and everything that she had to get some answers.

"I just wanted to know if they are alive. If they were alive, did they throw me out or lose me? Do they love me or even miss me? I just wanted answers, and I sincerely prayed for that, scared that one day that bastard might come back and finish me for good. He was losing his patience the more he realized that I didn’t have the answers that he needed," Lisa tearfully said, as all the anguish and pain of realizing that her whole life had been a lie surfaced once more. "Haha, and that prayer of mine worked!"

Hearing the last part, Calista knew that the sorceress was the one who probably heard it. And since she was so capable of eavesdropping on other people’s wishes like that, she was a powerful opponent. One she might not be able to defeat in this life.

Did that mean that she was going to sit down and watch as this sorceress continued to bring more people to finish her medicine until the day that she got buried six feet down?

The more she thought of her medicine getting depleted, the angrier she became.

Unfortunately, it seemed to be the case for now. She could only listen to Lisa and hear what she had to say.

"The sorceress appeared in front of me one day!" with a maniac expression on her face, Lisa continued, "She told me that as long as I crushed the stone, I could go to a place where I could get the answers that I want!" her gaze sweeping across the two who were in the room.

Honestly, now she didn’t even know if the sorceress’s words were true or if she was just a victim caught up in a ploy to piss off the madam who seemed to have a vendetta against the sorceress.

She didn’t believe that these two would have the answers that she needed at all and the more she thought about it, the more stressed she became.

Calista let out a deep sigh as she connected the dots once again.

"So, you crushed the stone and walked in that damn wormhole to the place where you will find the answers that you want?"

Lisa nodded her head when she heard that from Calista.

"And are you even sure that you can get your answers here?"

Lisa didn’t hurriedly respond but seemed to be lost in thought for a moment before hesitantly shaking her head, "I am no longer sure."

Calista raised her hands towards her temples but Mammy Lena stopped her in time and took over the massaging chore from her.

With someone massaging her throbbing temples, Calista looked at Lisa and said, "First you are in Kaneria, and to reach Literra from where we are, you might need to be on the road for more than six months!" revealing to Lisa where she was.

"What?" Lisa exclaimed in shock, nearly jumping out of bed with the information she just received.

She wasn’t expecting to have traveled so far. No wonder why her body was this sore, and she had suffered so much.

Looking pitifully at the other, Calista couldn’t help but say, "I think that you must have been scammed!"

Just thinking about how Lisa wanted to learn about her parents from her or anyone near her, she found it too funny.

Wait .... Wait a minute.

Someone next to her about biological parents. Why did that sound a bit too familiar?

The more Calista thought about this, she couldn’t help but raise her head to look at Mammy Lena.

Didn’t this lady arrive as well, talking about finding her mistress’s biological child?

Could it be that Lisa was the child that Mammy Lena was looking for?

Her body trembled at the thought.

It can’t be that on point, right?

She couldn’t help but look at both Lisa and Mammy Lena, with a dazed look.

’Did she get offended again?’ Mammy Lena pondered anxiously as she saw the way she was being looked at.
