Chapter 130: Chapter 130: UNTITLED
The first day of school started and ended pretty well, a joyous event indeed.
With the school project going pretty well for the moment, Calista could not take her mind off this matter, leave it to the wonderful volunteers and concentrate on other matters.
At the manor, as she liked calling it, the masons were working on the two cottages. Which was the last project they were working on, something that she was realizing to be not what she wanted.
She still has a lot of money to be spent and construction shouldn’t be finished as of yet.
The rainy season would be arriving in a few months and it would be a bit hard to build anything. At the same time, people would be too busy with their fields and some of the projects she wanted to prepare for early would be halted.
She wouldn’t have that.
Just because she hadn’t started the project yet, didn’t mean that she needed to wait until it was time to start it in order to have the kind of buildings she wanted to build.
She had purchased a lot of land before she started all of this. And most of it was by the roadside, where the restaurant was constructed.
She didn’t buy that piece of land for just one restaurant but to build several establishments there.
She didn’t know what more she could put there, but having the buildings first was a must.
If possible, she was going to buy more land in the future. Build a few more houses, and rent them. But that can only be possible if there is a business, and the place is attractive and lucrative enough to attract people there.
So, for now, she was going to do her best to make the village strive.
And to do that, the masons needed to pick their tools again and start building.

In the following days, Calista could be seen moving around with the masons nearby the restaurant discussing and so forth.
Seeing her like that, the villagers knew that she was up to something again. And since she was on the move, then it meant money for them.
Unfortunately, this time, the help of the villagers wasn’t required, and Calista wanted everyone to study meticulously without failure, so she didn’t provide any job to them at all.
Calista had the masons build several shops, with some medium-sized and others big. If a person wanted to sell clothes or other items, the shop would be big enough to accommodate that. And the same was true for a restaurant as well.
Just because she opened one restaurant didn’t mean that it should be the end. Of course, she left enough space near her restaurant to accommodate an extension, in case it was needed.
For now, most customers are buying takeout. Talking about takeout, there was another great project which had to be done to promote her business in any matter.
She was going to talk to the carpenter about that issue later. The man was currently busy dealing with the furniture of the dorms. The rooms were pretty much a lot, so a lot of furniture was required.
He didn’t have time to deal with anything more.
Thinking about carpenters, Calista understood a major problem. She was relying on one man and if she waited for him, who knows how long he would take until she got everything that she wanted?
There was so much that needed to be done, and if she relied on one man, then didn’t that scream failure at a glance?
But how many carpenters were there out there, she could commission?
Suddenly, she was overwhelmed with stress.
Thankfully, there was Ba Susan. So, when she didn’t have a single clue about how to deal with a matter, she simply visited the busy village chief and shared her woes with him.
When Ba Susan heard that, he couldn’t help but look surprisingly at Calista.
Lately, he had been having some pressure from the nearby villages. Calista favored their village a lot, which wasn’t bad. After all, favoring one’s homeland wasn’t a crime at all.
You can’t just feed others when your own people are suffering.
However, they weren’t the only problem. Lately, he had been visiting Silverbroke town and happened to meet with the councilor, who had a sit down with him.
After a lengthy conversation with the man, he had been stressed the whole day, but now it seemed that he no longer needed to worry about that matter at all.
Calista once again brought a solution to him.
"Are you certain that you want me to help in this manner?" he asked in confirmation, wanting to truly be reassured of her decision before giving his input.
Calista, who didn’t feel like using her brains to think about his matter, solemnly nodded, giving him the assurance that he needed.
With that, he beamed at her as he relaxed and responded, "That’s good, then. If you are having issues about this matter, then why don’t you hire some trustworthy artisans from other villages? Although we don’t have much, we still have some experienced artisans around!" giving his suggestion.
It wasn’t like he was lying at all. In Cropville village, it was disappointing, but there was only one carpenter with his apprentices, not too many of them.
There wasn’t even a professional mason, though literally every villager could build. To save money, people can be jacks of all trades.
No one in the village could fire porcelain. There were no potters at all. There were, however, those who could weave and embroider, but not many.
The majority of the villagers were farmers. A great reason why the village was named Cropville in the first place. It relied more on the fields and less on other fields.
Recalling the councilor’s words, if they wanted to develop in the right direction, they needed to work with others. This way, they will lessen the envy and malicious thoughts others have on them.
If they seek other artisans from other villages, then that might create a bridge.
