Chapter 115: RESOLVING ALL GRUDGES
Chapter 115: Chapter 115: RESOLVING ALL GRUDGES
Loosening her tense muscles, a smile broke out on Calista’s face as she magnanimously said, "It’s good that you see where you went wrong. Trouble will only come when you refuse to acknowledge your faults. So, I forgive you!" motioning for the other to stand up.
Upon hearing that, the stone that had been heaving and weighing on her got crushed that very moment, and Diana beamed with relief.
She looked gratefully at Calista as she sat back on the mat, uncaring how her friends had seen her in such an embarrassing state.
What did it matter to be embarrassed at this point? As long as she managed to get Calista’s forgiveness, then everything was worth it. And her mother would forgive her. After all, it was her life that was in jeopardy at that time.
With all grudges settled, Calista’s impression of Diana greatly improved, and this affected the whole atmosphere. It was no longer stifle and suffocating like before.
"Thank you for forgiving me. I hope that my visit today didn’t inconvenience you!"
Calista waved her hand nonchalantly as she looked at the other guests. She hadn’t properly taken a look at it, as all her attention was on Diana.
"No, it didn’t!" she replied sincerely. After all, napping wasn’t a big deal. She can still sleep later.
Diana sighed with relief upon hearing that and beamed. "So, can I call you sister now?"
Calista chuckled lightly hearing that and nodded. "Um. Just call me sister. It sounds pleasing to the ears!"
Humph, who would want to hear madam when she was this young?
Wouldn’t this be the same as telling the world that she was old?
So, what if she was a madam according to societal norms? Being a sister was better than anything else.
Surely upon hearing that, Diana beamed that her eyes squinted, forming into crescents.
Leeshay heaved with relief upon seeing that everything was now okay with the two. Although she still didn’t understand what transpired between the two, she didn’t dare ask. Although the grudge was resolved publicly, it didn’t mean that they were willing to expose the matter publicly.
She might as well be satisfied that she can be considered as having connections with the famous Red Spider merchant, as everyone loved calling Miss Diana.
After all, she was one of those merchants, bandits didn’t dare to set an ambush for.

Moments later, the hall was filled with hearty laughter. All animosity vanished as if never existed.
"You have grown up indeed. It’s good seeing you doing something that you love!" Calista praised the twenty-one-year-old maiden sincerely after hearing what she had done in the past three years.
It was unfortunate that she had never heard anything about Diana in these years. Simply showing how disinterested she was when it came to her.
Nevertheless, listening to her heroic deeds, Calista couldn’t help but applaud Diana. After all, Calista loved strong, opinionated, domineering and independent women like Diana the most.
"Hehe, I realized that if I don’t live a life that I like, I can never be happy!" while raising her hand nonchalantly she said. "Rather than forcing myself to marry a man that I don’t love. I might as well play merchant until my heart races for someone!"
Calista clapped when she heard that, her eyes squinting, loving what she had heard.
"That’s the spirit. I wish that other maidens think like you!"
"Haha, people are born different, so we can’t always be the same!"
"That’s true, but other things, if you don’t break out of your shell, how can you change?" Calista couldn’t help but sigh as she said this.
Rather than waiting for someone to be their savior, at times, people needed to save themselves first.
It took her a cruel death for her to realize how wonderful the world was. If she wasn’t lucky and didn’t get a chance to transmigrate and then rebirth, she would be gone forever.
It wasn’t like she didn’t know the goodness of the world. She knew it and yet she was a coward and never once did she try to take a chance at changing her life.
There were many cases of maidens being married off to older men as concubines, only to be abused and live a brutal life. They can’t run away from such a life, because that’s what it has been like from the past. Since others couldn’t escape from it before, then they can’t as well.
But has anyone ever tried to use a different means to stop this from happening? Rather than waiting until you are locked and helpless in another person’s home, why not try to unchain yourself whilst you are in your maternal home?
No matter how much your family dislikes you, they would still carry a portion of affection for you.
In another world, she had seen another girl who delayed her marriage by working hard. She simply promised her greedy parents’ money as long as they let her work. To get her money, these parents let their daughter work, although they literally sucked everything, she earned to support their sons.
Although the ending still remained, the girl still tried. However, if she had set aside familial relationships, and stopped being delusional that one day they would love her, she might have lived a better life without getting bothered by them.
By working in the city while the parents remain in the village, why not run away to a faraway place where they can’t find you? Change your phone numbers and everything and just disappear from their life?
If you can’t accept sending your parents to prison, then run away and stay far away.
This concept can even work perfectly well in this world and era. There were no IDs which could be checked in the computer system. They didn’t even have identification documents on them except for slaves in this era.
After a child was born, the child would be recorded in the books, and that was it. Even crossing the borders was very simple. You just walk into another kingdom without worrying about being asked about this and that.
There was no such thing as border crossing in this era. It was such a wonderful era. If she were someone who faces such an inhumane act, she would run away from home and seek greener pastures elsewhere.
Unfortunately, the education that women received from a young age was what disabled them. That was more of the case for peasants and slaves. They didn’t have many rights and were expected to live like robots.
So, it was difficult to change them or speak sense of them.
However, for kids like Diana, who grew up in better families and one who worshipped money more than anything else, they were liberal and open to new things. That could be seen by how they didn’t force their daughter into marriage but allowed her to do what she wanted.
Although Calista wasn’t sure what the future would be for Diana, at least for now, she was living life the way she wanted. And that was what mattered.
