It was three years ago, and she decided to go on a trip and buy a few goodies. So, she went to Liresa city, got everything that she wanted to get and just when she was leaving, she came across a woman who fainted.

Feeling that she just couldn’t return while ignoring this woman, she volunteered to lend a hand. And that was how she met with Diana. The lady who fainted was Diana’s mother.

Calista’s medicines were unknown and never seen. As someone who always travels with at least a bottle just in case something happens, she used a small dose of the medicine to treat the lady and left stern instructions on how to use it. After all, the lady didn’t just faint but was having low blood pressure.

An illness that Diana’s family knew.

There wasn’t a definite cure for this illness. However, she had a miraculous drug that could cure anything.

But who would have guessed that Diana didn’t believe in her medicine, which was expected? But why did she throw it away without her mother taking it or even getting it checked?

That night, her mother nearly went to meet the goddess of death and received her judgment as she got another attack. If she wasn’t staying at the same inn and very close, who knows what might have happened to the lady?

While Calista was thinking about this, Diana was thinking about it as well.

Her body trembled with an unknown fear, her back drenched in sweat as memories of that night resurfaced.

After throwing away the unknown and suspicious liquid her mother was supposed to take later that night, it didn’t take long before her mother had a seizure. Facing such a situation, as they were used to it, they gave her the pills her doctor prescribed her. But who would have guessed that, as if she was fed with poison, her body would react like that?

She started foaming, and the seizure made her look like an epileptic patient. It was so scary.

If it wasn’t for the mammy who recalled that Calista was nearby, her mother would have left her that night.

She still remembered the deadly glare Calista gave everyone when she found her mother having seizures on the bed. That glare was enough to make her understand that she had done something wrong and there were no excuses to make up for it.

That night, Diana watched as Calista carefully handled her mother, from feeding her medicine which made her vomit a lot of foam as if she was going to die one second to another medicine which started making her stabilize.

Everything happened in less than an hour, and her mother looked rosier by the time Calista was done.

She still remembered what Calista said back then, "Because of your unruliness, pompous nature and your vanity, thinking that you are above everyone else and know everything. You nearly killed your mother. Just because you don’t know about it doesn’t mean that others don’t. you are just a frog in a well!" her tone was very mocking and cold.

At that time, she couldn’t even retort, no matter how angry she was. After all, Calista had just saved her mother. And how rude would she be labeled if she were to attack the savior? So, she endured it and for the next two days, she deflated, getting embarrassed with each meeting she had with Calista as her mother recovered fully.

After her recovery, Calista even refused to get any money. She said that she was just giving a hand and didn’t do it for money. Diana, who had thought that the other wanted to plot against them and wanted their money since they were well-known merchants, found Calista even more pretentious. That was until Calista slapped her with several bank notes that she realized that she was indeed a frog in the well.

Calista might not look like it, but she was indeed a crouching tiger that shouldn’t be underestimated.

Unfortunately, before she could properly ask for forgiveness, Calista was nowhere to be found. They scouted Liresa City for days and yet there was no sign of her. Only to learn that she doesn’t stay in the city, but as for where she lives, they didn’t get any answer.

The second meeting was three years ago. It was a coincidence; however, Calista ignored her and only spoke to her mother, refusing any sort of payment.

Her mother was very happy with Calista and decided to befriend her. However, to her, Calista was cold. And it seems that she hadn’t forgotten the issue of years ago.

Actually, she had never thought hard about why Calista would treat her like that when nothing happened in the end. However, as she listened to her reproach right now, she suddenly became enlightened.

Everyone in the hall didn’t know what these two were thinking about, but whatever it was, they didn’t dare interrupt or raise their voices.

Who didn’t know Miss Diana’s character? She might look obedient on the outside, but deep down, she was the venomous snake that would bite and leave one for dead instantly. Otherwise, how could she have survived as a wandering merchant in a world of men?

After seeing the whole picture, Diana suddenly exhaled a deep breath as she looked at Calista, an ashamed expression on her face.

"I never get the chance to plead for myself, for what I did back then and I will not make any excuses!" getting down on her knees, Diana shocked everyone as she said this. "I am sorry Calista and I hope that you will forgive me!"

Calista, seeing that, didn’t stop Diana at all but watched her as a hawk. Her chest was feeling stifled and seeing Diana apologizing, it was loosening.

Back then, if she wasn’t close and had trusted that they would follow her instructions, a life might have been lost and she might have been labeled as a murderer. How was she supposed to live her second life like that?

She can live with other accusations on her head but that of a murderer, she didn’t dare accept one.

Nevertheless, watching this pompous lady on her knees and pleading for forgiveness, the grudge she had unknowingly and unintentionally carried for years vanished into thin air.
