Living with Leeshay proved to be much better than staying at the inn. At least with Leeshay, she didn’t need to pay, and she felt at home more than being at the inn.

Besides, with Leeshay around, she didn’t need to rack her brains when wanting to find something at all.

So, after resting for a day, the next day, she left with Leeshay and Mammy Lena to the market to do some shopping.

Since she had shared with Leeshay what she wanted, when they left home, they simply went straight to the places they wanted to visit rather than wasting time window shopping.

They first visited the slave market, where Calista purchased two young girls. One was thirteen years old and the other fourteen. She chose the young ones as she felt that they would be better to live with. They would be more obedient than those who were older.

Of course, buying young ones would be great, but what use would she have for them?

At least, she wanted people who could work, cook if needed and make her feel as if she wasn’t hiring child labor.

If she hadn’t transmigrated before, she wouldn’t feel complicated by hiring child labor, but now it was a bit different.

Of course, the older ones were a bit complicated. It was hard to understand their minds.

After buying these two, she reluctantly purchased an older lady, only after hearing how she was once a midwife and nanny and how she knew a craft or two. Such a talented person needed to be bought.

After going through some complications when buying the slaves, Calista added another slave to the mix. This one was someone who sent herself to her doorstep and she couldn’t help but take her in.

When she was in the process of buying medicine, she came across a young woman who was kowtowing and begging this noble-looking man if it wasn’t for the roguish vibe he emitted, which pissed Calista off. This young woman was begging and pleading with this man for some money.

Apparently, this man was this young woman’s father, and all she wanted was some money to save her mother, who was dying, but the man was adamant and refused.

He kept on calling the young woman’s name and in front of so many people; he rejected any relationship between him and the young woman, leaving the woman dejected and helpless.

Calista took out some silver coins to give the young woman since she couldn’t ignore such a situation, but who would have foreseen that her move would make the young woman sell herself to her in return?

With a random charity act, Calista ended up getting two more people, although it wasn’t certain if the mother would still remain alive after all this ordeal.

And the only reason why she accepted the girl was her knowledge of medicine. Since she wanted someone to help her with the clinic, it wouldn’t hurt to get this girl and with her being owned by her, Calista felt that it was perfect.

The young woman left after dealing with everything to care for her mother, and Calista gave her the address of where she would find her.

She wasn’t leaving Liresa City that fast, so there was no need for her to add these two to her entourage.

After buying the slaves and medicines, time had trickled by a lot, so they returned to Leeshay’s house to rest.

The next day, the shopping continued, and this happened for three more days. After several days of shopping, Calista had purchased everything that she wanted, so she was content.

With all the shopping done, one day Calista and Leeshay were having a walk in the market, enjoying themselves after leaving the clinic where Calista got a check-up from the doctor and confirmed that everything was going pretty well.

Her pregnancy was now at twelve weeks, and very stable, so she was in a good mood.

"Now that you are done buying everything, what is your plan?" as they walked, Leeshay asked as she fanned herself.

Calista beamed upon hearing that and said, "Um. Rest for a day or two before returning!" without hesitation.

She had gotten everything that she wanted. From slaves to carriages. What else did she miss? Nothing.

So, there was no need for her to remain in the city for longer. After all, there was so much which needed to be done back home.

Leeshay nodded in understanding. "Um, rest a bit. We can’t have you taxing now that there is a baby!"

"Indeed, I can’t let anything happen to this one!" she said dotingly, her eyes filled with affection as she caressed her stomach, which was starting to bulge slowly.

Leeshay’s lips arched upwards, seeing Calista’s maternal affection oozing like that. It felt good seeing her friend like that. She was very happy for her.

The two talked about this and that as they walked, bought this snack and that, enjoying themselves as always.

After walking for a long, the two went to rest at Leeshay’s restaurant where they ordered a meal and started enjoying it as they listened to a story.

While listening to the story, Calista’s eyes couldn’t help but light up as she thought of another method of making money.

In this era, where sources of entertainment were minimal, stories could bring a lot of money to an establishment. She didn’t have to find a storyteller, but could just write a few stories and sell them. That was a good way of earning money and providing entertainment as well.

Stories didn’t need to be limited to just adults, but kids as well. There weren’t a lot of stories for kids in her era, and she planned on doing something about that. Who said that kids don’t want some entertainment?
