Chapter 107: Chapter 107: MEETING EACH OTHER 2
That question was answered, when two hours later when a carriage arrived and three men came to the restaurant holding several meal boxes with them.
Dumbfounded by what she was seeing, she poked Susan while pointing her chin at the incoming men.
"Hehe, Mammy, this is our loyal customer. He is here on behalf of several people. So don’t worry about not getting customers. We have people willing to buy and eat our food!"
When Mammy Lena heard that, she heaved a sigh of relief.
When the meal boxes arrived, which were more than before, Susan nearly had a heart attack but fortunately, they had cooked more, so the food was enough.
This time, the meal boxes were twenty, compared to the fifteen they were starting to get used to.
After packing the twenty boxes, there were still leftovers remaining in the pots, which was good news for Calista. She didn’t like cooking a lot when she could avoid it.
Before leaving, Richard informed her that there may be more orders in the future and Calista felt grateful to the man willing to be on the road for ten hours every day without getting tired.
When Richard and the others left, seeing the little food in the pots, Calista was no longer in the mood to keep the restaurant open, so she had Susan take all the food out.
After doing so, all the pots were cleaned, and the restaurant was cleaned again before everyone left.
The team didn’t return to Calista’s home but went to the village where Calista was going to meet with the village chief and let him know about Mammy Lena’s arrival.
On their way to the village chief’s house, Calista met several villagers who were friendlier to her now than they were before.
"Child, how are you doing? Is running the restaurant very difficult and tiring?"
"I hope that you are fine. You need to take care of yourself!"
"It’s good that I saw you. When you return home, don’t forget to pass by my house. I have a few things to give you!"
"When is the clinic opening?"
"What are you planning to do when those buildings finish?"
These people were simply too curious that Calista found them very pleasing to the eyes. At least none of them called her names this time.
Everyone was just curious or concerned about her well-being. She was also grateful to them as they reminded her of some urgent issues and tasks she had put off on the side because of work.
When the village chief and his wife heard Calista’s voice at their house, they knew that the troublemaker was coming. Calista wasn’t someone who loved going to other people’s houses. Either you force her to go or she has a serious matter to discuss.
They couldn’t help but wonder what it was this time. However, when they saw the distinguished lady walking carefully next to Calista as if she wanted to be a shield, the old couple had an inkling of why Calista was visiting this time.
So, when moments later, Calista made the introductions as she sat on a cushioned chair while the other ladies sat on the ground, something that she would never agree to do, the couple confirmed their suspicions.
"Uncle and Aunty, Mammy Lena would be staying over for a while. So, I took this chance to show her to you," without explaining much about the other, Calista informed the couple.
When she had said it like this, what did she expect them to say?
The couple could only agree and started to get to know more about Mammy Lena.
With the elders talking, Calista and Susan left the room and went outside, where she stopped in her tracks as she looked at the children playing together. Susan’s baby girl and Tim’s son were close in age, so the two could play together easily.
Hearing the laughter of the kids, Calista’s gaze involuntarily moved to her belly. It’s been four weeks nearing five and she couldn’t help but muse as she looked forward to her beloved child appearing in this world.
Susan warmly looked at her friend, her eyes reddening as she recalled a few memories.
It was good like this. She beamed as she collected herself.
Calista stayed at Susan’s place for an hour or so before she started feeling tired. Wanting to take a nap, Calista could only return home.
However, she didn’t go straight but stopped by several houses where she collected some food and grains these grannies promised her.
In the end, it became Mammy Lena carrying all of it and Calista enjoying herself all the way home.
At home, Calista drank some water first and informed Mammy Lena what she wanted to eat for dinner before going to her room to sleep.

In the next few days, life was moving smoothly for Calista, especially with Mammy Lena around. For foods that Calista had already taught Susan, she didn’t bother to go to the restaurant and spent her time at home nursing herself.
When she visited Ba Susan before, she talked to him about the land issue and after waiting for four days, Ba Susan brought some good news.
Calista could buy the land around her hill since it was the land that she wanted. She didn’t want to buy any other land or abandon her tree house; she couldn’t bear it.
With the land’s rights in her hands, the next step for her was to give those masons another job.
After all, they were nearly done with all the jobs. And she wanted her baby to arrive when the new house was furnished and ready to be lived in.
But for that to happen, she needed to have another good talk with the masons.
So, after getting the land, she didn’t idle and contacted the masons, who were done with their jobs and had a lengthy discussion.
She showed them her rough plans so that they might gauge how much resources would be required. There were still some remaining after the construction of the previous buildings was completed.
So, for the next few days, she was busy making sure that the foundation was dg properly and that enough bricks were transported.
Calista won’t be around to monitor the progress this time since she was planning to go to Liresa City.
There were several things that she needed and with Mammy Lena by her side, she could travel at ease.
Besides, Susan could take care of the restaurant pretty well.
After preparing everything, when Richard was driving the carriage back to Silverbroke town, Calista and Mammy Lena took a hike as well.
Carriage versus ox-cart.
The answer was obvious.
And Susan could only watch helplessly as Calista left her with the restaurant.
Wasn’t she worried that she would return only to find a mess?
’Let’s do the best!’ she could only cheer herself, hoping for the best.
After all, Calista had trusted her so much to leave her with so many responsibilities.
She wasn’t going to let her friend down.
NEVER!
