A Love Reborn: Finding Romance Twice In One Lifetime
Chapter 106: MEETING EACH OTHER

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: MEETING EACH OTHER

"Good morning, Cali!" Susan cheerfully greeted as she walked in before stopping in her tracks and looking quizzically at Mammy Lena. ’Who is she?’ she was curious as she looked at the woman who carried an aura that was far superior to the ladies, she once seen in Silverbroke town.

Calista beamed at Susan as she patted the other side of the bench. Susan, being friends with the other for years, didn’t need a translator, so she suppressed her curiosity and went to the bench where she sat.

"It’s good that you are here!" with a relieved smile on her face, Calista turned to Susan. "Meet my nanny, Mammy Lena. She is here to check up on me and take care of me during these times!" introducing Mammy Lena in one go.

Upon hearing that, Susan suddenly felt enlightened. No wonder why she felt that this woman wasn’t simple. It was because she was related to Calista. Her friends’ relatives and other friends were different from them.

Just look at Orson. Until now, she had never seen a man like him. Too bad he didn’t seem reliable at the moment.

Wiping her hands thoroughly, Susan beamed at Mammy Lena and said as she stretched her hand towards the lady while bypassing Calista, "It’s nice to meet you, Mammy Lena. And thank you for coming. We can all be at peace now!"

Calista wouldn’t know how restless all of them were whenever they thought of her. She was staying on a hill by herself accompanied by a kitten that couldn’t even cause any damage. And every day she had to climb the stairs numerously, cook, wash and do other chores on her own.

What if all that work causes the unexpected?

It’s been very tough for everyone.

Mammy Lena beamed at Susan, seeing how respectful and unsuspecting she was. She didn’t know how Calista had brainwashed her friend to the extent of believing something silly like this at first introductions. However, she liked Susan a lot.

After getting used to seeing people with evil intent in their eyes and then seeing such pure eyes, she felt that her Miss found a good friend.

Although her Miss was definitely not simple, very scheming and a troublesome person, from the interactions they had, she didn’t condemn. After all, with how beautiful and rich she was, if she remained naïve, who knows how badly she would suffer in society?

Nevertheless, for her to have such a friend like Susan, Mammy Lena felt that she could be at ease.

"I have heard so much about you, Miss Susan, and thank you very much for looking after my Miss all these years!"

Calista hummed approvingly, seeing how Mammy Lena was so good at adapting her role. If she hadn’t told the other what she wanted them to be, she would have been fooled too and ended up thinking that they were indeed related, which would be absurd.

Fortunately, the two quickly got acquainted, and Calista sat on the side as she listened to them talking, nodding now and then. After all, these two really could speak so well, as if they had known each other for decades.

How come she didn’t know her friend was this eloquent?

She couldn’t help but muse.

After listening to these two for a while, Calista stood on her feet, startling the two chattering ladies to stop.

"Cali, where are you going?"

Calista stretched her arms as she looked at the two and answered, "Have you forgotten that we need to open the shop? I need to gather the ingredients!" her answer astonished Susan, who had momentarily forgotten about this issue.

Susan scratched the back of her head embarrassingly and muttered, "You go and pick them. I will clean the kitchen!"

Calista chuckled lightly upon hearing that and left as she hummed a tune.

Mammy Lena looked at the embarrassed Susan and patted the other before following Calista, who was gone to do some hard work.

Susan chuckled lightly as well when the two were gone before she started cleaning the kitchen.

Meanwhile, on Calista’s side, the majority of the ingredients had been prepared, and all that was needed to do was to check them.

Since Mammy Lena had joined her, she showed her the ropes and with the other’s help; she managed to get things done quickly.

Mammy Lena managed to see the icehouse and honestly, she was surprised at seeing how one woman can keep so much meat. There was a variety and from this she felt relieved, knowing that her Miss wouldn’t starve.

Calista left the arrangements with others before she started dealing with the issue of bathing. She had stayed in the kitchen for too long and the smell of smoke was a bit overwhelming for her.

After a nice bath and a change of clothes, Calista left with Susan and Mammy Lena talking and laughing all the way.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Naomi had already opened the restaurant, cleaned the place, and the fire had been lit.

Mammy Lean was very curious about what Calista was going to cook and, above all, who she was going to serve. In such a remote place, although the restaurant was on the road, who would come and buy it?

However, she couldn’t say anything. So, she simply decided to help and not let her Miss be overworked.

Calista had picked white rice for this day, which was easier to cook and faster as well. However, she wasn’t planning on cooking just simple rice. She loves drama in her life, so she decided to add a few things to it in the process.

Mammy Lena was tasked with cutting carrots, onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger on the side. While Naomi busied herself with washing the chicken cutlets, Susan measured the rice and added it to the boiling water.

As for Calista, she was giving instructions without raising her hand. Mammy Lena had forbidden her from doing anything.

Calista’s menu for this day was rice mixed with carrots and peas. As for relish, she was making chicken stew with a separate soup dish on the side. As for the salads, she was cooking beetroot. In the future, she was going to make more mayonnaise.

Salads tasted better with garnishing.

Mammy Lena was quite surprised to see that Calista’s dishes were relatively simple if she was to be truthful. However, the aroma coming from the kitchen was enough to make her salivate.

There should be people willing to buy, right?
