Chapter 100: Chapter 100: A SAVING GRACE

An hour later, Calista was sighing helplessly as she looked at the person lying on the same bed, that she placed Orson when she found him a few months ago.

’It looks like the heaves truly love sending people to me!’ she lamented as she gave the middle-aged woman a second look.

An hour ago, while taking a walk around, she witnessed that crazy wormhole scene. Wondering what was going to come out and how to deal with it, this lady was coughed out of the wormhole.

She looked battered as if she had just gone through several rounds of abuse and torture. Her clothes were torn, and she was full of scars.

When she checked her pulse after confirming that she was just like Orson when she found her, she found out that the woman’s breath was fading. If left alone, the woman could die. How could she let the woman die after being sent to her?

She didn’t know who was sending people to her but there should be a purpose.

Orson was sent to her, got coerced into marriage and for over a month the two of them lived harmoniously as a couple. Even their marriage was registered. Thinking about the marriage, if Orson doesn’t show up when her pregnancy is three months old, she is going to deal with that marriage registration.

She would rather be unwed than have a nonexistent husband. She didn’t even know where he stayed. After all, after being sent to her through a wormhole. Who knows which continent or kingdom he was from?

Anyway, Orson must have been sent to her to give her a child. So, for now, she would forgive him. After all, wasn’t it a child that she sought when she was with him? Fortunately, he vanished when her feelings weren’t cemented to the extent of obsession.

If that had happened, who knows where she would be right now to search for that deserter?

Anyway, getting back to this lady she saved, there must be a reason why she was sent here. And until she found out what it was, she was going to keep her. Of course, if she wanted to leave, then she would gladly let her leave. She didn’t want to make any unnecessary connections that would lead to abandonment in the future.

After saving the lady, Calista had gotten rid of the tattered clothes she was wearing. She had picked the small bag the lady had brought with her, though it was torn all over. The lady came with some coins. She was loaded and prepared judging by the torn clothes she had prepared in advance.

It was unfortunate that whoever sent her through that wormhole didn’t inform her in advance that it was dangerous and could nearly send a person to his or her death.

After getting rid of the torn clothes, Calista wiped the woman’s body with her special medicine and even fed her some medicine to heal inner wounds. For a woman, her beauty and skin were of greater importance. And she couldn’t allow the lady to be disfigured or be marred especially after coming to her.

They were fated to meet, so she had to give her all when helping.

Why did she appear on the same path as her?

Why did she pick this day of all days to go on a walk?

The deities weren’t idiots. That was something that she was starting to realize. Although her favorite deities just are the goddess of love, life, luck and wealth. As for the gods, honestly, she was biased and favored females more than men.

What’s wrong with worshiping a female god? The men might as well worship them. She was a feminist.

Anyway, the lady’s wounds were all dressed, and her pulse was now better. She didn’t know how long the lady would take to wake up, but she was at ease knowing fully that she was fine.

With a new person in the house, Calista didn’t have time to be idle, so before preparing dinner that night, she cleaned the house and arranged what should be arranged.

She didn’t dare trust this stranger, so she activated a second array on the cabinet. This time, only she would see it.

There were medicines and money in that cabinet. Who knows if the lady woke up when she wasn’t around and ran away with her good things?

She didn’t dare relax.

That night, Calista, feeling a bit lethargic, reheated the food from earlier and ate it before retiring for the night.

The next morning, Calista woke up on the third call of the rooster cursing incessantly as her dream had been disturbed and now, she didn’t even know how it was supposed to end.

She only calmed down when she picked up five silver coins under the pillow. When there is money, there is happiness.

Calista added the silver coins to the rest before she started her morning chores. After washing her face and brushing her teeth, she went downstairs, where she checked up on the patient.

She wasn’t up yet, however, all the wounds had healed, which was a relief. Even the way she was breathing was much better compared to before. Calista fed the lady more medicine and water before leaving.

Calista went to start the fire in the kitchen and put water over the fire before returning to the house, where she started cleaning her house.

By the time she was done, her water was boiling, so she prepared for a bath. As she climbed the stairs with a bucket of water, she couldn’t help but curse again.

Now that she was pregnant, although she was strong, maybe it was her mind or something but every time she did something that she could do before but felt that it wasn’t supposed to be done by a pregnant woman, she would find trouble with it.

It wasn’t like pregnant women in her village had to climb stairs every time they moved into their house. The house was suitable when she wasn’t pregnant but now; she needed to have that house built as soon as possible.

But first thing first, she needed to get the land.

It was probably time for her to have a wonderful talk with Ba Susan. She couldn’t continue like this.
