Chapter 79: I Gave You An Order!

Chapter 79: I Gave You An Order!

There was no such rule. As long as they were guests of the princes, they were not to be searched. This would only be possible if any of the guests were not an invitee of the royal highnesses.

"Je suis désolé, but this is an order from the king. The third prince is not allowed to have guests in the royal mansion if they are not thoroughly searched," the royal guard explained.

"What?" Santino was stunned. "Since when?"

The royal guard did not respond.

An annoyed breath fled Santino’s nose, and he turned around. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Draven’s number.

[Is there a problem, Santino?]

"Yes, young master. The guard at the door is not letting us in unless your guest is searched," Santino reported.

[Who said that?]

"Apparently, his majesty has given an order that you cannot receive guests into the mansion if they are not thoroughly searched," Santino clarified.

[Search for what exactly?]

"I do not know." Santino looked confused.

[I will be there in a minute.]

Santino turned off the phone. He looked at Loui.

"Please have a little bit of patience. My young master will be with you soon."

Loui nodded with a half-smile.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Well-coordinated footsteps sounded.

Instantly able to tell that it was Draven coming, both Loui and Santino raised their heads at the same time to look at the door.

The door pulled open, revealing Draven, who was stoic as usual.

The royal guard immediately turned around. Draven was very tall, therefore leaving him to lift his eyes in order to glimpse him.

"Your Highness!" The immediate fear he felt from Draven’s dead eyes made him fall to his knees.

Draven was not wearing his glasses, and the dead look in his piercing red eyes was enough to hint at his displeasure.

"Y-Your Highness. I-i—"

"Did you say that my guest could not come in?" Draven’s voice was as pacific as it could possibly be. But, behind it, one could hear a very intimidating backing to it.

"Ye!" The royal guard was startled. "No! No! Of Course not! I would never! I could never!"

Draven shifted his gaze to Santino. "What was the fuss about, then?"

"Uh..he..." Santino himself was at a loss for words. How did this man switch so quickly? Such a coward!

Loui, on the other hand, was chuckling inwardly. He glanced at Draven to meet his gaze.

"Come with me," Draven said to him, but as he turned around, he was met with Lumian.

He seemed to be making his way out of the mansion.

Draven did not even spare him a glance. He proceeded to walk past him, but Lumian stepped in front of him, stopping him.

"What is going on here? I heard the commotion! Are you going against our father’s orders?" he questioned.

Draven arched his brow at him. "Get out of my way!"

But Lumian didn’t budge. Rather, he tilted his head, glancing at the royal guard that was still on his knees.

"What are you doing kneeling on the floor there? Search that man!" he ordered.

"Touch him, and your head will roll." Draven threatened, but his tone was calm.

Lumian frowned as he saw the royal guard still kneeling on the floor.

"I said you should search him!"

Draven did not bother saying a word this time around. He knew and was very sure the royal guard would not dare go against him.

The royal guard was trembling and gulping loudly. Today was probably the worst day of his life.

Lumian was furious at this point. "You idiot, I gave you an order!"

"I CAN’T DO IT!" The royal guard was terrified. "I can’t do it, your highness! Please have mercy on me. I can’t do it!" He pleaded, tears starting to brim from his eyes.

"Fool! You think I am the one who won’t cut off your head?" Lumian questioned him and shifted his attention to Draven.

"Listen here—"

"Don’t speak to me!" Draven narrowed his eyes at him. "I don’t care if you are older, but you are no different. Don’t test my patience and get out of my way!" His towering figure and tone were intimidating.

Lumian wasn’t quite tall, but one could say he had courage.

At this point, he found himself no longer able to utter a word.

"Father will hear about this! Just watch!" he spoke with gritted teeth and stepped out of the way.

Draven walked off, and Santino and Loui followed behind him.

They strolled through the grand foyer to proceed to his quarter. Ryan, Lestat, and Valentine, who were right outside, could see them. They stared without restraint.

Valentine tilted his head, and his eyes contracted into thin lines. "Hmm..."

Loui couldn’t help but meet their gazes every now and then.

How did Draven know that they would all be out there? He was a bit bewildered, but he dared not linger on the thought.

Upon arrival at his quarters, Draven walked down the hall to arrive at the not-so-big gate in his backyard. This gate led to his garden.

Santino stopped and opened the gate for them. As a bodyguard, he could not follow them any further. This was per Draven’s order as well.

Draven stepped inside, and Loui hurried behind him. They sauntered to the pavilion, and Draven gestured to the seats.

"Sit down," he said as he took his seat.

Loui sat down and let out a soft breath. Every now and then, he couldn’t help but look around, quite impressed by the beauty of the garden. This was the first time he had ever stepped into the Delgaard royal mansion.

He cleared his throat at the sight of the chessboard in front of them and fixed his attention on Draven, who began to take his gloves off.

"Don is everything... okay?"

Draven glanced at him. "Yes."

But Loui was still a bit apprehensive. "Don, I wouldn’t mind if I got searched. If he lets his majesty know, it will cause a lot of problems for—"

"Loui, stop worrying about unnecessary things. We have something much more important to talk about." Draven interrupted him.
