Chapter 73: DRAVEN!!

Chapter 73: DRAVEN!!

Avelina proceeded to explain.

"Listen, sometimes things happen and you just say, "You are evil" It does not mean you mean it. You are just trying to use it to describe something or maybe how you feel. I mean, you just read this book, and I don’t remember what Chapter I was in, so that is why I said that."

Draven pondered deeply about it and thoughtfully shook his head. "I still don’t understand. I don’t get it at all. Are you saying I am evil because I read your book and now—"

"Draven." Avelina smiled at him. "It’s okay. That was a slip of the tongue from me, okay? I didn’t mean it, and I am not mad, either."

"Oh...alright." Draven nodded. "Well, if you are worried about the page you were at, it’s okay, I memorized it. Before I started reading, I checked it, so you were at page twenty-five."

A deep breath of relief fled Avelina’s mouth, and she looked at him. "What page are you on?"

"The last page," Draven replied.

"What?!" Avelina was stunned. "How did you read that fast?"

"Ah... I don’t know. I would have read it faster if a few of their behaviors hadn’t confused me. I did not like the male main character. He is stupid." Draven commented. "But I liked the female main character. She reminds me of you."

Avelina’s jaw dropped. "Why would you say he is stu—"

"Ah!"

"AH!!!"

...

The sounds of a lady screaming in horror came from a few quarters away.

"Isn’t that Natasha’s voice?" Avelina swiveled her head to look at the door.

Draven did not react. It was as though he already knew why she was screaming.

"Let’s go and find out," he said as he grabbed Avelina’s hand.

They hurried to the vast foyer, only to see that everyone, including the old master, was gathered in one spot. Their gazes were all fixed on the hall that led to Ryan and Natasha’s quarters.

"What is going on here?" Old Master Lenort questioned, his expression looking ashen.

Lumian diverted his attention to him. "None of us have any idea."

Draven and Avelina were standing away from them.

The heavy sounds of footsteps left their attention focused on the hallway leading to the quarter. The silhouette that belonged to Natasha and Ryan came into view.

Everyone’s attention shifted to Natasha, whose chest was rising and falling in anger. Her face was filled with tears, and the mascara she rubbed on her eyes had all slimmed down to her cheek.

They approached the whole family.

Old Master Lenort questioned, "What happened?"

Natasha lifted her head to look at him. "Father, my estate. M-my estate."

Valentine, who came later than everyone while stretching his muscles, halted. He glanced at them and moved his gaze to Draven before advancing closer.

"What happened to your estate?" Old Master Lenort seemed annoyed by her hesitance to speak and scowled.

Ryan stepped forward to speak in her place. "Father, we just received news that her estate had been bombed. There is nothing left of it."

"What?!" Old Master Lenort and the rest of the family were taken aback. They looked at each other, and Valentine, who stood on the side, crinkled his brows.

"Who is responsible?! Tell me at once!" Old Master Lenort was agitated.

Natasha shook her head at him. "I have no idea, Father." She was sobbing profusely.

"The culprit is unidentified," Ryan added.

Draven held no expression or reaction, but Avelina, who stood beside him, reacted by covering her mouth and looking shocked. Even though she was aware of who the culprit was and was not surprised or felt any form of sympathy for Natasha, she pretended as if she did. Inwardly, she was laughing in satisfaction.

Valentine peered at Draven and suddenly smirked.

Old master Lenort at the side was boiling in rage. What insolence! Who would have the audacity to do such a thing? Were they courting death? He fisted his hand and gave orders to the bodyguards to search and find the culprit.

Natasha, on the other hand, looked over at Avelina. Her face crumpled in fury, and she abruptly rushed towards Avelina. She grabbed her by the collar of her pyjamas and began to shake her.

"It was you, right?! Who helped you with it? ANSWER ME!! Who helped you with—"

Her words came to a stop when she felt someone suddenly grab her wrist. Before she could even anticipate what would happen next, the person who was Draven flung her away with a cold look on his face.

"Do not lay your filthy hands on my wife."

"DRAVEN!!!" Ryan shouted as he quickly rushed to Natasha, who was on the floor. "How dare you touch my wife?!!" He was infuriated.

Casually, Draven retorted, "How dare your wife touch my wife? Teach her boundaries. She gets on my nerves."

Ryan’s face was scrunching deeply in rage. "You—"

Draven turned around and grabbed Avelina’s hand. "Let’s go."

Under everyone’s heavy gazes, including Valentine’s, they left for their room.

"Father!" Ryan looked at Old Master Lenort. "Won’t you do something about this? Are you going to let him—"

"Find who bombed the estate. I will behead them myself!" This was Old Master Lenort’s words before he dismissed everyone to their quarters. He left as well.

Valentine walked back to his room. He pushed open the door, stepped in, and shut it.

A grin settled itself on his face, and he strolled over to sit down on a chair that was a bit distant from the wall. On the wall hung a dart board.

Valentine grabbed one of the darts, and skillfully, with narrowed eyes, he aimed and struck accurately at the bullseye.

"This is amazing!" He suddenly began to laugh.

He rested back on the chair and crossed his legs. "You played well, brother."

"But... it’s so insane that I crossed paths with the culprit last night," he was saying to himself.

To him, Olive was the culprit, and nothing could convince him otherwise. This conclusion he had reached because, regardless of the fact he seemed absent-minded and free, he was scrutinizing and analyzing Olive, which Olive himself did not realize.
