Chapter 54: You Know What To Do With This, Right?
Draven flickered his eyes, perplexed. "I’m not calling you a gluttony, but yes, you are a gluttony. I suppose."
"Although, considering you are slender and kind of small too–" He put her down to her feet and adjusted her hair for her. "–I doubt anyone’s thinking would strike there, unless they be with you and realize so."
Avelina looked up at him and said, "l’m not small. You only think I am, because you are muscular and six feet tall."
"Mhm, I figured." Draven concurred.
He walked past her to the table in the room. "I’ve got something for you."
"Huh? What is it?" Avelina inquired, curious.
"Books." Draven grabbed the stack of books and handed it over to her.
Wh... Avelina’s eyes widened.
She stared at the books and lifted her eyes to meet his gaze.
"Was this why...you asked if I liked books earlier?"
"Yes," Draven confirmed. "You don’t know anyone here, so I thought it would be nice if I got you something you like that would entertain you."
"When I saw you get excited about the bookstore, I thought you must like books, so I asked to be sure," he clarified.
Avelina gazed at him and the smile on her face broadened.
"Thank you," she appreciated it with a look of disbelief in her eyes.
"Do you like it?" Draven asked with a look of anticipation.
Avelina glanced at the books. She examined them and her eyes dilated as she read the letters written at the bottom of each of them.
Dark romance... She was at a complete loss of words.
With a dropped jaw, she shifted her attention to Draven.
Draven on the other hand was bemused by her countenance.
"You...don’t like it?" His face was crumpled, immediately disappointed with the bookseller.
A hot tear slowly slipped from Avelina’s eyes and she dramatically said in a hushed tone, "I love it!"
This was exactly her type of reading. Spicy, scrumptious dark romance.
She smirked before suddenly wondering how he perfectly picked them.
He didn’t seem like the type who read those kinds of books... It was even quite amusing to imagine it.
Avelina inquired, curious, "Did you pick these out yourself?"
Draven explained honestly, "No, the bookseller did. I don’t really know much about novels, so I asked her to give me something she thought you might like."
"Oh..." Avelina shut her eyes and gave a hearty smile.
Thank you, bookseller... She touched her chest, grateful.
"I have one more thing to give you," Draven said and walked to the table.
Avelina watched him with curiosity written all over her face.
Draven returned with a package in his hand.
"Take," he gave it to her.
"What...is this?" Avelina was perplexed.
Draven slightly smiled as he scratched his neck.
"Oh...it’s a phone. I thought you needed one. I mean, you can keep yourself busy with it too and in case there is ever an emergency where I am not around, you could call me."
"Although, I think I will always be with you," he added.
Avelina gazed at him for a few seconds without breaking eye contact and Draven whom she was gazing at became confused.
"Is...something wro—"
Before his words could be completed, Avelina dropped everything on the bed. She stepped closer, leaving Draven even more puzzled.
"Avelina, are you oka—"
Avelina wrapped her arms around him, tightly hugging him in the most sincere way he could ever imagine.
Draven went dormant. His widened eyes blinked rapidly as he had not expected that at all.
"Thank you." Avelina showed her gratitude.
Draven was not able to respond as he was momentarily shocked.
Avelina pulled away to look at him.
"Draven, are you okay?" she asked, a bit concerned by how still he was.
"Y-yeah...I just...I just felt my heart skip a beat," Draven replied in a barely audible voice. He could not comprehend what had just occurred.
"Hmm..." Avelina tilted her head to think. "Maybe you need more sleep," she said and strolled off to arrange the books.
Draven grabbed his chest and listened for his quickened heartbeat.
"That was weird," he mumbled to himself as he began to walk into the bathroom.

[6: pm]
A maid stood in front of a door.
Her legs were shaking and her hand which was reaching for the door handle was trembling. Anyone who saw her could tell that she was heavily nervous about something.
She bit her lower lip and reluctantly knocked on the door. "M-my lady, it is me, Laila."
"Come in," the lady inside permitted loudly.
With a deep breath escaping her mouth, Laila opened the door. She stepped inside and shut the door behind her.
"You have come." The lady, Natasha, smiled. "Tell me the good news."
Laila fidgeted with her fingers, having come with the opposite of what Natasha was expecting.
"My lady, it’s not g-g-good news."
Natasha’s expression turned serious in an instant.
"What do you mean by that?" she questioned.
Laila’s body shook nervously and she quickly said, "W-well, the men didn’t succeed. T-third prince killed all of them."
"What?!" Natasha’s eyes widened as abrupt anger built up within her. She slammed her hands on the table and stood up to her feet.
"What the hell are you blabbering?! Are you trying to tell me that six men could not handle him?" She was seriously frustrated.
Laila did not give a response. She was too scared to even utter a word.
"Bunch of idiots! Fools!" Natasha cursed as she groaned in vexation.
She looked at Laila. "What is the time?"
"Six Pm, my lady. O-old master is settling down in the dining hall," Laila replied.
Natasha let out a deep breath and walked out from behind the table. She opened the drawer of the mini table close to her bed and pulled out a golden piece of jewelry with diamonds and a titled name encrusted on it.
In a deadly manner, she smiled.
"You know what to do with this, right?"
Laila gulped and slowly nodded at her.
"Good. No one must find out about this, not even my husband. If anyone does..." Natasha glanced at her with a side grin. "I will kill each and every one of your family members and make your life miserable. I am sure you do not want to see your little sister get hurt, or do you?"
"No, my lady, n-n-not at all!" Laila furiously shook her head with fear written all over her face.
Natasha chuckled in a menacing manner. "Good girl." She threw the golden jewelry at her and exited the room.
Laila’s body shook intensely and she quickly hurried out of the room.
