A Game Of Chess With A Vampire
Chapter 406: Open The Gate!

Chapter 406: Open The Gate!

There in the middle of the hall, Draven was knelt covered in his own blood. His eyes....his eyes....were bleeding profusely, but not because of the sunlight issue. This time, they had truly blinded him, but slitting his eyes with a sharpened knife.

The light wasn’t enough, Old master lenort needed to make sure he blinded him—he wanted to make sure he put him through before killing him.

"D-D-Draven..." Avelina stuttered, her ears crushing inside of her. "W-what...why...why did you...no no no, no." She frantically began to shake her head, unwilling to believe that it was real. It was a nightmare, it had to be. Things couldn’t have possibly gone so wrong...right?

"Ave...Avelina..." Draven’s voice was low and raspy. He couldn’t see her anymore. Thus the only thing he could make out was her voice and her closing scent which seemed to send him quite some comfort even though it was filled with pain.

She dropped to her weakened knees, clutching onto her chest as she began to sob painfully. "Why...why are you hurting him? Why are you...why are you doing this to him?"

"WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?!!!!" Avelina angrily began to punch her hands into the floor, her entire face burning in anger. Her eyes were darkened, her fangs elongating without her knowing.

She heaved up and down and she only stopped punching the marble floor when the blood from her knuckles thoroughly tainted it. Her sobs slowly went silent and the next she raised her head, she was snarling and panting as though she was an animal.

Her eyes were clouded with killing intent and at the sight of this, Old Master Lenort frowned nastily.

"He turned you!" He was infuriated. "How could you lot—"

His words were yet to be completed, when at a lightning speed that not even Lestat could match, Avelina appeared before him in the blink of an eye and pounced on top of him.

Lestat could not even register what was about to happen, when Avelina slit his throat with her sharp stretched-out nails, killing him. She gripped his head, pulling it completely off his neck.

Blood pumped from Lestat’s neck, so much so that it awfully covered Avelina in the color red. She got off, Lestat, watching as his lifeless body plummeted to the floor. Slowly, she whipped her head to look at Ryan with dead eyes.

Ryan’s body shook at the chill he felt run down his spine and quickly took a step back.

"Don’t come near me you fucking bitch!"

But Avelina was more of a killing machine with no brain at that moment. She ran, wanting to finish off Ryan as well, but Old Master Lenort was quick to use his ability to stop time, halting Avelina in her tracks.

"What a gem of a human you are!" Old Master Lenort burst into laughter. "You are as strong as a royal vampire despite being a turned human. Good experiment, Draven, good experiment. Perhaps, I’ll use her for my gain. She came to quote a lot." He was beginning to stroke his jaw with narrowed eyes.

Avelina, who was no longer able to move her body, struggled, snarling at old master Lenort.

Old Master Lenort smirked at her and stepped forward towards her. He balled his hand into a tight fist and before anyone could even register what he was about to do, he lifted his fist, wickedly and mercilessly punching Avelina in the stomach.

The impact caused Avelina’s eyes to widen in a rush of pain before spurting out a mouthful of blood. She was sent flying all the way to crash into the wall.

Avelina plummeted to the floor, her hands clutching onto her belly. The air was knocked out of her lungs, so much so that she was searching for any little bit of oxygen as breathing had become hard for her.

Her eyes rolled back to her skull and she grunted in pain, trying to crawl her way towards Draven who was breathing.

"Dra...Draven. Please don’t leave—"

There! A sharp pain hit her stomach, causing her to immediately swallow her words. Her face twisted in unbearable pain and she began to roll back and forth on the floor unable to bear it.

She screamed so loudly that Draven began to struggle, trying to break off the chains.

"Avelina! Avelina! What’s wrong?! Avelina!!"

Old master Lenort, who was also confused by her sudden wail of heart-wrenching cry, cocked an eyebrow. His expression began to fall the second he witnessed her white plants soak up blood.

Blood?

That was when he realized, his eyes widening afterward.

"You...are pregnant?" He said and burst into laughter. "You were pregnant?!! This is unbelievable!"

Draven’s soul shook at the sound of those words and he furiously pulled on the chain, groaning painfully at the impact it left on him.

"Father, i-isn’t she losing the child? She’s bleeding," Ryan said, confused.

"Who cares?" Old Master Lenort laughed and watched as Avelina struggled to crawl toward Draven despite the agonizing pain she was in.

"Aww...you both really love each other. How heartwarming." Old Master Lenort cooed mockingly. "Go on, crawl to your beloved."

He walked towards Avelina, gripping her by the hair and dragging her towards Draven. He only let go once she was close to him and chuckled.

"Now, what will you do?"

——

Prince, Ava, and Lucien stood in front of the gate of the royal mansion. They looked from left to right, but there was no way to get inside unless the royal guards opened the gates for them.

"Open the gate!" Lucien grabbed the gate, yanking it. "Open the gate!!"

But Prince rushed pulling her back. He shook his head at her, signaling her to stop making noise. The best solution right now was for him to go invisible and through the back, he can go in and open the gate. However, the fear right now was of being caught before he could even open the gate.

Prince turned to Ava and smiled at her.
