Chapter 404: Wasn’t It What He Wanted?

The phone fell from Olive’s hand onto the floor.

He was still, gazing into nothing with a horrified look on his face.

"O-Olive, is something wrong? Why do you look like that?" Lucien asked. They were all staring at him having been with him while he was on call with Valentine. They just had no idea what Valentine must have told him to suddenly; make him stand up from his chair with such a horrified expression.

Olive didn’t respond but turned around storming up the stairs. They hurried after him.

He tramped towards Loui’s room and without even knocking, he kicked off the door, watching as it slammed to the floor with a heavy thud.

"Olive!" They exclaimed, surprised.

Olive still didn’t pay them attention, but his face grew furious at the sight of Loui who was seated on the bed, his hands interlocked and his head lowered with guilt looming all over him.

"You asshole!!! You fucking asshole!!" Olive rushed towards him and before Loui could even register what he was about to do, he grabbed by the collar, lifting and slamming him against the wall.

Furiously, he began to punch him repeatedly in the face, tears beginning to build up in his eyes.

"You fucking asshole! Why would you do that? How could you do that?! I thought we were family. You said we were! How could you do this?! Are you happy now?!!!"

"OLIVE!" The others rushed up, grabbing Olive by the arms to pull him away from Loui who was beginning to bleed from his nose. "Olive, stop, you are hurting him? What is wrong with you?" Lucien asked.

Loui, who didn’t fight back at all, dropped to the floor on his butt, pathetically.

"Let go of me! Take your hands off me!" Olive yelled at the others, his bloodshot eyes fixed directly on Loui. "I’m going to kill you. I’ll make sure you fucking suffer. backstabber!"

Of course, the others were taken aback by this. Why would Olive call Loui a backstabber? What had he done?

"Olive...what did Loui do? Why are you so angry with him?" Pierre asked, concerned.

Olive breathed heavily and snatched his arms from them to wipe off the tears in his eyes. This was the first time they had ever seen him shed a tear, thus they knew immediately that whatever it was that Loui committed must be a big deal.

"This fucking asshole—" Olive pointed at him, not even able to spit the word out of his mouth. "—this fucking asshole poisoned Don and things are currently going horribly at the royal mansion!"

"Valentine was crying and he...and he said they were about to kill him. He is dying and this asshole is the reason!!" His shoulder rose and fell in heavy breathing.

Everyone had stilled, automatically glued to their spot. Their gazes shifted to Loui and in a trembling voice, Pierre muttered his name.

"L-Loui...this is not true...right?" He asked. "You would never hurt Don. We are family. You and I are best friends. You would never do such a thing...right?" There was visible fear flickering in Pierre’s throat as if he was afraid to hear what Loui would say.

Loui however stood up from his seat and before their eyes, he bowed apologetically.

"I’m...sorry. But...I did what I did to save my sister. I know it is awful and I can never get your forgiveness, but I still like to apologize to every one of you." With that being said, Loui turned, jumping out through the opened window to run.

Everyone’s eyes widened and they rushed to the window.

"Loui!!" Pierre shouted his name.

"Find him, Pierre, and bring him back here. He will never go scot-free after what he’s done!" Loui yelled and turned to the others.

"I’ll go to find Valentine. He is stuck in the middle of nowhere, so please go to the royal mansion and help Don, I beg you." He pleaded, his eyes swelling up from crying.

The others who were still in visible shock and unable to even straighten out their jumbled thoughts, nodded at him. Was this some kind of nightmare? Would they wake up from it?

"Y-yes!" They hurriedly left the mansion and drove off together toward the royal mansion./

Olive on the other hand left to find Valentine, while Pierre went after Loui.

Draven, who’d been unconscious for an hour or so now, blinked his lashes apart, opening his eyes. A soft breath fled his nose and he lifted his head, to stare at the ceiling.

I did make a mistake in the end...hm... He chuckled inwardly in mockery of himself.

You really could never trust anyone, no matter who it was. As careful as he was, he chose to trust Loui because really, he never thought—never even assumed that a day such as this would ever come when one of the people whom he saved would betray him.

"How...stupid I’ve been." He laughed, amused.

Both his hands were bound by two long chains attached to the far end of the wall. He was in a large hall, on his knees at the right center of the room. There was absolutely no way of escape and chains were silver, thus making it impossible for him to break off of it.

Draven pulled on the chain, attempting to see if he could break it off with brute strength, but he was hit with an agonizing pain that made him feel as though his arms were near the verge of being ripped off.

He huffed, lowering his head to stare at the floor. His teeth were gritted, pain flickering in his empty eyes.

The old man sure was cautious. He awa fully weakened by what he couldn’t even make out.

Although, how was he still alive? He was sure that the poison had nearly killed him. Could the old man have fed him some kind of antidote?

But why? Didn’t he want to see him die? Wasn’t it what he wanted?
